Hey Dave! Harvey's devastation got close... we could hear the helicopter rescues nearby... but I had the dumb luck to buy a house on the highest piece of land in the area. Thankfully, we were high and dry. My brother and sister-in-law had three feet of water in their house.

Daughter #1 just started her freshman year at Rochester Institute of Technology. After eleven years in Texas, she has no idea what a cold a snowy winter is!
Daughter #2 is in 8th grade and playing softball all over the country. We traveled with her to Massachusetts, California and Colorado this year. In Colorado our organization's Recruiting Director told the Harvard coaches her SAT scores (she took them in 7th grade), and they invited her to their Elite High School Camp – where she was the youngest girl there by two years. She was also already being recruited by an ACC school before the NCAA changed the early contact rule. She's been on the same team as two 7th graders and a sixth grader who verballed to Florida and Florida State before the NCAA changed things around. No contact at all now until Sept. 1 of their Jr. year in HS.

Tough to follow TCNJ football from here when you know they'll be lucky to play .500 ball in a good season. That's why I'm now a RIT fan... RIT Football—Undefeated Since 1978! Their former coach, the legendary Tom Coughlin, is not only a Super Bowl winner, but a future Hall of Famer! The RIT football team has been flying under the d3football.com radar for years!  ;)

Wish RIT still had football. It's a big enough school, rich enough as well. Engineering schools can be successful, plus they have new, innovative programs such as environmental programs and video game design .Lots of new facilities as well. Ice Hockey of course is the big sport on campus. Games have a good atmosphere, brand new Polisseni Center Ice Arena.  They also have one of the best D 3 Mens Lacrosse teams in the country (even tho a National title has eluded them).

I told my daughter that she MUST attend a few ice hockey games – women's too since they went D1 like the men. The amount of clubs the school has is insane. She joined the Zombies v. Humans club and was run down and shot with a nerf gun in the pouring rain today on the way back from class. Lots to do there 7 days a week – which is great because the won't be coming home until Xmas. Majoring in 2D Animation just in time for the grand opening of the $15M Magic Spells Studio.

I wondering if games are going to get pushed up,postponed or cancelled within the NJAC. With Salisbury being on the shore of MD, they have an higher chance of getting effected. Looks like Saturday evening will be much clearer, so hopefully they game can be finished by the late evening.

FSU vs CNU is already a night game so it won't be affected. Cnu should just forfeit the win and save the travel money though ;)

I think getting their safely is another issue, with both MD and VA declaring a state of emergency and high winds, riding charter buses is going to be a big no no.

CNU85

CNU is shutting down campus tomorrow until Sunday at noon. Dorms close at 11am tomorrow. Classes are done after tonight until next week. It all depends on what this storm does. Some forecasts have it stalling out over NC...but this thing is huge and we are in the wrong quadrant of a Hurricane. Va already has mandatory evacuations for those living in evac zone A.  We've had so much rain lately, the ground is saturated. Downed trees could be a huge problem. I'm glad I cut down 17 trees in my backyard last year!

Flooding will be the main issue in this part of Va. I'm hoping the wind will not be as bad as some are predicting.

I think the issue for CNU is not so much the game....but more about...what will the team come back to??

I thought of you specifically when I saw that Jeff Pearlman, author of many sports biographies, did a ranking of all-time USFL players and had Sam Mills No. 1. I've pre-ordered his book about the USFL which hits book stores tomorrow. Here's a link to it on Amazon:

Observations from Sam Mills Field:

Parking $7, Admission $10 and $5 for Seniors. You gotta be kidding. >:(

Was I shocked when I saw the Red Hawks play. We now have a real QB, a power running back with speed in Merckel plus 2 other wery quick running backs ahd good receivers. I like the O Line. We score 30 in the first half and ONLY 7 in the second half. The Ref's were lousy and you gotta live with that. We still don't have a killer instinct. You have to burry these guys when you have them down. We still have to learn that. I also see a little nasty streak like the old days but 150+ yards in penalities will not work. Better teams will eat you up. I think that there is a real possibility to win 7+ games this year if we keep improving every week.

110-60, Stay The Course and "Keep Pounding"

This team reminds me of a team I played on a very long time ago, we too were picked to do nothing! There is an old school feel in that building, the senior leadership is impeccable, the younger guys are buying in, there are no egos and lots of potential, stay tuned!

CNU @ Frostburg has been postponed. Which essentially means canceled.

Kinda surprised they wouldn't try to play at Frostburg

Not with the path of Florence scheduled to go right through Western Maryland at some point.  I am fully expecting the same thing for the Wesley/TCNJ game as well.
