Wesley looked decent today against Kean. Two turnovers by Burroughs though. 8 INTs on the year. That's too many IMO.

Montclair-Salisbury seemed like a defensive struggle. Right around 200 yards of offense for both teams. It will be interesting to see how Wesley fares against both teams.

Wesley gets more help from Delaware Valley who beat Lycoming. Some other conferences are cannibalizing each other, which is good if Wesley ends up having to fight for a Pool C.

When
Both teams still have to play Montclair and Salisbury. Not writing anything off.... but since you went there, here is a hypothetical. If Wesley were to win out and Frostburg were to slip up against Montclair or (preferrably) Salisbury, then we would go tiebreakers for the pool A. Everything would seem even, until we got to SOS. As it stands right now, Del Val would tip the scale in favor of Wesley, and Wesley would have the Pool A. But I'm wondering what the effect of the FSU-CNU cancelation would have on this situation.

Again, purely hypothetical. Still a lot of football left to play in the regular season.

Yeah, and Wesley's special teams need work too.  One missed PAT, another mishandled PAT hold almost returned for a 2 points and two off sides penalties on kick offs.  That shouldn't be seen halfway through the season.  The secondary continues to be a strong point for sure.  Burroughs should shelve any passes over 20 yards unless he has a receiver that is flat out open.  He is getting himself in trouble with long passes to covered receivers.   It is here he is getting picked off.   Just take those out and Wesley keeps the ball moving.

Impressed that Montclair State made it a game after being down 17-0.  Wesley will have to make sure they don't underestimate them when the two teams play later this year.

If frostburg loses one game and Wesley wins out. Wesley will win the title 8-1 vs 7-1. Better winning %

One thing I forgot to mention is E. J. Lee's running.  The guy changes direction on a dime and he certainly showed that today!  The guy defies physics.  Abe Mansaray looks really promising as well.

Something came over Montclair State's defense, after the early points which were off of turnovers, it was impressive, they held them to 180 yards rushing

Did not see anything yesterday that tells me that either Salisbury or Montclair can give Frostburg or Wesley a game.  Neither team looks potent enough on offense to score enough to win.  Wesley needs to keep winning and see how 1 loss plays out in pool C land.  Couple results yesterday did not eliminate some 1 loss chances.  Muhlenberg with a big win against Thomas More.

I don't know, Montclair's offense has been so efficient this year, they have a big o line that open up holes and true speed at the WR position. I don't know if the early turnovers rattled our offense a bit and going down quick to Salisbury altered the game plan making them much more pass heavy, all year it has been a very well balanced. I don't know if that was exceptional play by Salisbury defense or just not good offense by us. I haven't seen the qb throw into double coverage all year, that said, if Montclair can play the same type of defense they played against Salisbury and figure out what happened to the offense, I would give them a punchers chance. Salisbury has a very good defense and LBs seem to do a very good job of getting into pass coverage and passing lanes, there are open areas in their zone, looked like they sat in a cover 4 pretty much all game, but they are truly one dimensional on offense, if either Frostburg or Wesley can duplicate what Montclair did, they won't have a chance, also seemed to have multiple issues on special teams

This is just to poke fun at your statement. All trip options teams are one dimensional. They usually can't win a game if they have to throw the ball.

Red Hawks 12

Well aware and noted, I played, I'm just saying they are truly one dimensional...I guess when I played against them and any year after that I watched MSU play them, I have never seen that offense completely shut down...

Looking at the stangings around the nation, I found 8 conferences with a chance to have a 1-loss runner up, ASC- either Hardin Simmons or Tex Luth, CC- if Hopkins beats Muhlenberg, CCIW - but just as good a chance of everyone having 2 losses, NJAC - Wesley winning out, OAC - Marietta, BW, or John Carroll, PAC - CWR if they win out, MIAC - 3 teams with a chance, WIAC - Oshkosh if their loss to NAIA Davenport is ignored.  It will be interesting to watch this play out, but if Wesley wins out I like their chances at getting in via Pool C.  There are several other teams that could be 1 loss but their conference generally does not get 2 teams in the tournament.

The OAC could straighten itself out. All 3 of those teams have yet to play each other. Marietta has yet to play Mount Union as well.

In the MIAC it is down to Bethel, St. Thomas and St. Olaf. St. Olaf plays St. Johns and St. Thomas next and Bethel and St. Thomas play each other during the final week of the season. It seems that conference will find itself with 1 pool C team.

For the CCIW, North Central, Illinois Wesleyan, Millikin and Wash U all have to play each other before the season ends in some capacity. Plenty to be settled there.

During Fox broadcast of ATL./TB,  they showed ATL. Coach Dan Quinn in his Salisbury St. uniform and mentioned he was a two year captain of the football team.  They also showed him in his track uniform as a hammer thrower for the school during the fourth quarter of the broadcast.

Forgot Dan Quinn was a Salisbury alum. Wonder if him and Matt Gono (Wesley alum) have exchanged any jabs over the Route 13 rivalry between the two schools.

While this is obviously next year, I was looking at d3football's open dates page for the 2019 season. Wesley will have to fill 3 non-conference slots as So Va is headed to the ODAC and Frostburg is headed to D2. Notable opponents this side of the Mississippi that share Wesley's listed open dates are:

Week 1: North Central, St. Johns, UMHB, Olivet, Mount St. Joseph
Week 3: NCWC, UW-Oshkosh
Week 4: UW-Oshkosh, Morrisville St.

Very interesting.

You know week 1 will be a MAC game, as it stands now it would be stevenson, not del val for once.
