A good article on Wesley's recovery from the Rowan loss.

Hopefully their minds are right for the Montclair game. Going to be an interesting test to see where the direction of the program is headed. Uncharted waters... at least in the past 13 years for Wesley. I'd imagine with an inkling of postseason hope, they will be fine.

I'm interested to see how it plays out with playing time for some guys. Do they start rotating more new guys in to "rebuild" for next year? Or do they play it straight up because there are still games to win and a chance to go 8-2 and maybe, just maybe, sneak a Pool C.

Coach mentioned around the 9 minute mark that it was difficult to schedule and possibility of going to Linfield. I thinking there should be a Northwest Conference/NJAC challenge...Thoughts???

That would be pretty neat.

It would be really neat, it would help the Northwest Conference teams with finding that 9th or 10th game to give the players a full schedule. Also, I think it would be nice to see how teams rank from Top to Bottom in any conference. Maybe get some the DIII and ITH crew to help commentate on. I know cost is going to be a huge factor, so the possibility of all 8 teams participating is very very very low. If we were to matchup current rankings (excluding Frostburg, SVA, and George Fox (typically has full schedule), it would be:

Whitworth v. Salisbury
Wesley v. Linfield (Rematch) - maybe have the game at Linfield like it was suppose to be last time  ;D
Montclair/Rowan v. Pacific
CNU v. Puget Sound
Kean v. Pacific Lutheran
TCNJ v. Lewis and Clark
William Patterson v. Willamette

Excellent interview gentlemen.  Thanks.

Coach A alluded to maybe playing Bport and Bart in the future.  I would love to see the conf. play some more NY teams especially those that were former members.  And maybe the best of NE in the future.   I don't see other division opponents as a beneficial option.

Great article, thanks for sharing. The reporter notes that Wesley is down to 2 RBs! A season can have a toll on the roster. A one point Saturday, after Rowan's kicker was injured, Rowan had no kickers available due to all the injuries. The injury bug has hit Rowan hard...

Weather going to play a major role in tomorrow's Wesley/Montclair game.  If the forecast holds they are calling for 1 - 2 inches of rain with 40 - 50 mph wind gusts.  Does not make for much of a game for the offense or special teams, and certainly not a fun game to watch in person.

So..... Let me preface this post with the fact that I realize that Wesley's postseason chances are virtually nil, but what would need to happen in order for Wesley to somehow, someway make the postseason?

Say they win out. I know they need help (and a lot of it) from the rest of the nation. Has an 8-2 team ever snagged a Pool C?

Waterboy, the regional rankings will be interesting this week.  They will tell if Wesley has a chance.  They need to be ranked and ahead of Ithaca.  If Salisbury loses to both Wesley and Frostburg, Cortland loses to Brockport, Ithaca may lose to either Hobart or Cortland, Wesley winning out may get them to the top of the east board at the start of the poll C discussion.  If that is the case they will probably not be passed over 5 times and get in.  They will have a RR win over DelVal and maybe Salisbury, not likely to stay in if they lose twice, and a loss to Frostburg.  1-1 RR is good.  I figure the SOS will be around 500 so they may get in.  Need a lot of stuff to go their way, but you never know.

I can dig in a little more on this later tonight after I do a little homework, but wd is on the right track.  First step is to find the dominoes that need to fall in order for Wesley to be at the top of this region's at-large list.  Being first in line is 85% of the game.  Then you can branch out and see what's going on in other regions or what you want to be rooting for in other regions.

I think Wesley's SOS should end up north of .500 because DVC is a huge helper.  I'd guess somewhere between 0.520 and 0.530 at the close of business on 11/10, which is really about as good as you can do with just one OOC game.
