To all Wesley fans. To say this year was tough is a huge understatement. But kudos on the season. The events that unfolded during the off-season were tough for any team to handle.   But your guys played hard and never gave up. Coach Drass would be proud. Chin up and hold your head high.

D O.C.

OK Rowan!
Stay healthy.
See you in September.

It indeed was a tough and trying season for the Wolverines. Did not do the little things right at all and ultimately it cost 4 wins. Line play on both sides of the ball was not up to par this season, and Wesley's QB play left a lot to be desired. Special teams play was not good. Talent in these areas were well below the Wesley standard they have been used to the past 13 year, and I think you can pin the losses on those areas as well.

I really think that after the loss vs. Rowan, the team was going through the motions. The past 3-4 games were some of the worst offensive Wesley performances that I can remember. Uncharacteristically stagnant and mistake prone. The tough part is sitting home at 6-4 when you know that team could have been 9-1 or 10-0.

The pieces are there for next year. The offensive and defensive lines need to improve. WRs and RBs will be a stacked group (Lee, Peele and Simpson are all juniors). Really excited about the LBs and DBs returning next year. That was a young group this year. HUGE question mark at QB. The fact that Burroughs was not benched this season signals that the coaching staff may not have been comfortable with the other available options.

Only 2 players return in the secondary for Wesley, Williams (SS) and Mitchell (CB). The other safety position to replace Capp will probably go to Glover. QB my guess would be Marrocco.

First, I want to say congratulations to Frostburg for fighting the whole game and never giving up. You guys made great plays a key moments. Connor will be know as Baby Aaron Rogers, he eluded defenders the whole game and made big throws. That 4th down heave was surreal, couldn't believe it. Good Luck in the playoffs. Now regarding my Seagulls, I'm proud of the fight the team played and the coaches did a great job mixing things up this week offensively. We had two costly miscues on Special teams with the muff punt that led to Frostburg 4th TD and the bad snap over the punter head which led to that crazy 4th down pass by Conner. I know someone mentioned the 3rd string QB, IMHO, he should have been started since day 1. Unfortunately he was 3rd string as a Senior and moved to WR for the most of the year. He is more poised to run the offense and much better passer, sadly we had to wait until the final game to realize that. I think we win last week with him at the helm. Although I am upset at yesterday outcome, I think we had the game in our hands multiple times and played like the better team, but you have to seize moments as players and having two costly miscues (on players) on special teams was the difference.

You still have guys who looked very capable in the secondary. Shawn'ye Jones and Marcus Gaspard for example. Cappadonna will be hard to replace. He was the best player on that defensive side of the ball. I don't even think you can guess who the QB is at this point. Sheckells was at Old Dominion, so he may have some ability. You also have Jon Mullin and Jared Wagenhoffer. I have heard several people speak highly of Wagenhoffer, although he is a little shorter than your typical Wesley QB.

Selection Sunday without Wesley doesn't feel normal. Frostburg draws Western New England. They should handle them, but I foresee that Johns Hopkins could give them some problems in the second round.

A QB who transferred down a few levels from Old Dominion? I think that you have the answer to who the QB will be next year in that case. I thought that was D1-AA for a moment (I refuse to use the stupid FCS and FBS acronyms) but it's actually D1. Transferring down two levels? He could eat the NJAC alive, especially with Frostburg leaving. We'll see how it plays out.

That begs the question though: Why wouldn't he have started at any point in the past two seasons? He was with the Wolverines for both years. Saw some time on the field this season as a fullback in jumbo packages as he has a ton of size at 6-4 240. Would be awesome if he pans out, but we will see.

I'm just going to point out, it's the third time this year someone has said they didn't think the best team won. I'm going to say this, the best team won yesterday. With that said it was a great game to watch and even better one to be at. We will get our chance at brockport and it'll be fun playoff run for us. #2 seed in the east region. This team is on a mission.

Bobcat, I think you are misrepresenting my post. No one is taking anything away from Frostburg and their play. Like I said, I credited you guys already in my post and that is testament to your team and coaches. I am sure you watch the game and you would have to be totally bias to not say that Salisbury clearly gave you guys opportunities which you all seized (testament to a good team). I said we played like the better team that day, not saying over a 10 game period. You guys have an awesome QB that created things when it looked dire for you all. I could have used many excuses that we were playing with our 3rd string QB or you only beat us by 3 points in overtime at home, however I think he may have been the better QB all year. and it is a rivalry game. Again, I'll be rooting for you all (ugh) to go all the away and any east region team.

Congrats to Salisbury for getting a Bowl game against a good Alfred team. Also, congrats to Wesley as you all play Westminster College.

Wesley goes to Westminster for an ECAC game next week. Only an hour away from the house! Always good to get 1 more week of practice and another game notched before heading into the offseason.

Didn't expect that!  Cool.  Too bad it is out of my travel area......
