Was really pulling for Hopkins in the Mount game. Many a flashback from Wesley's ventures to Alliance....

Hopkins seems on the younger side, and I imagine the road may run through Baltimore, MD for any team coming out of the NJAC next year.

... so goes another rather boring semifinal weekend.

I am all for that. If Salisbury were to make it. All the fans that usually travel to Salisbury will have easier commutes (unless you are from Salisbury or Eastern Shore).

In other news, just saw this video and it appears that Salisbury will try to renew (or asking) its rivalry with Frostburg in the future. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpTS6gpiuXs

JHU is a pretty good place to watch a football game also in my opinion.

I think Wesley was interested in playing Frostburg as well. Not sure how or if that is panning out for next season.

I'm all for to maintain our Rivalry with Frostburg, however regarding DIV III resume, I'm not. We may end up with a scenario similar to Linfield. I would rather create a "Maryland Cup" between the DIV III MD schools (Salisbury, Johns Hopkins, Stevenson, and McDaniel). Preferably Stevenson (Battle of SU's).

Not sure what benefit there is in continuing to play Frostburg.  I guess if it means getting a game, but teams should be able to find a D3 opponent since there are a number of leagues looking for OOC games now.

Well the season for Wesley was the toughest one in recent memory.  The loss of Coach Drass was felt throughout the school and the locker room and was something the Wolverines couldn't quite shake.  Here's hoping that a new season with a refreshed spirit will garner better results for the 2019 football season.  I am sure that Coach Knapp with a year of being a head coach under his belt will have things in hand.  ;)

Sure hope so. Need to hit the recruiting trail hard. Was looking at the coaching staff as a whole and it seems pretty intriguing. You have guys that have been there for a while: Azz, Plews, Healy, Nowakowski and a few others. Then you have Bottiglieri, a veteran of the game calling the defense. Then you have Art Smith (DBs) and Pat Mahoney (o-line) who both come from Mount Union, and by their Twitter pages, both seem very invested in making Wesley into an elite program once again. The pieces are in place there IMO.

Well, well, well... not many here would remember JT 1.0. Welcome back JT. It's been a while. The old NJAC just ain't what it used to be... I miss the days of Jersey City State games; Ramapo breaking every NCAA rule in the book; and the biggest game of the year either being Trenton State v. Glassboro, Trenton State v. Montclair, or Glassboro v. Montclair. But time marches on... as does my retreating hairline.

Yeah, it's been a while. Hopefully, I can go to a couple of games next year. My three year old son keeps me quite busy. My business allows me to work from home, and my wife has settled into a good gig about 4 miles away. None of this would have been possible 10 years ago when we first started trying to have kids. Thankfully, I have very little grey and can pass for late 30's - early 40's.

The quality of NJAC football is down from the 90's and 00's. There was a time when there were 2-3 playoff caliber quarterbacks in the NJAC. The freshman QB on TCNJ looks like he could be a good one, and one of the freshman wideouts looks good too.

Continuity and QB play has hurt the Profs over the past decade. Players don't seem to make it four years. More than a few promising freshman and sophomores disappear after one or two years.

Agreed, Rowan has battled this issue for a few seasons, but Coach has mentioned several times that his goal is to retain smaller teams and focus on players who are passionate about Rowan football. Based on the current roster, Rowan has key players returning at all the position groups minus LB (the LB's crew was an area of strengh in 2018 with 4 key seniors). Couzzi and Giles are both talented QB's who can lead the Profs for the next few seasons.

Returning Playmakers
QB - Couzzi, Giles
RB - Devine
TE - Madden
WR - Rehm, Gross, Maldonado... Sturgis
OL - Stillings, Kane, Dunscomb... McGowan, O'Hara, Klein
DL - Tapp, Gajderowicz, Hamilton, Genise... Price, Cockerill
LB - No significant contributors
DB - Winters, Lanier, Dibari, Kennedy... Wright, Arroya, Schillinger
K - Boyko, McCarren

Other Thoughts:
- 2019 captains could be Rehm, Madden, Gajderowicz, DiBari
- I could see Tapp (D1 transfer) moved to LB; he was speed DE and made a few sacks in his limited time
- DB will be a position of strength, and LB will be an unproven group

It would be nice if the Profs could compete for the NJAC in 2019.
Tip - Stay young by having your first kid when you're almost 50.

Holy crap. Just read local paper about CNU recruiting class. Wow! That's all I can say.....wow! I know you have to wait to see how things turn out, but this very possibly could be the best recruiting class in CNU history.
