The little leaguers from NJ beat Oregon 6-2... they take on Hawaii on Sunday.  ;D

Oh my gosh....I thought D3 football preseason camps were open and I was on the football boards. Must have clicked the wrong link and landed in Little League Land!

Go NJ! A few years back, a Little League team from Maine-Endwell near Binghamton captured it all!

Didn't Toms River NJ win it all once?

The VA team this weekend had a pretty good  outing. back to back no hitters. Sunday's game ended after 4. 11-0

Rosters are starting to be populated on school web pages. I just came across this....but it looks like it has been on social media for a while (I'm slow)...the Stevenson starting QB transferred to CNU.
Well, he started the last 6 games for the Mustangs and went 5-1

Interesting

He is from Virginia, so being closer to home or in-state tuition could have been a factor....

Perhaps. Distance is probably not a factor since he is from Nova. Getting to Stevenson is probably easier than snaking your way down the nonsense called I-95 and I-64.  Tuition could be a factor. I couldn't find out of state tuition rates for Stevenson, but just the published rates on their website shows it is double that of CNU. $50k v $25k

Like that CNU price. Visited Stevenson with my college-bound daughter last week and she liked the campus. I have mentioned CNU as an attractive place too. Just wondering if you can adopt her this year to get some of that in state tuition?

Haha - My adoption fees are hefty!!! But I think even out of state is slightly less than the $50k. Perhaps around $43k-$45k.

Go Rowan! Brown & Gold!

Rowan's Football Media Day is tomorrow (wish I could attend in person).  They usually do a good job with interviews and previews.  Also, a new local papers typically will post a few sound bites.

Still 2 long weeks to go before the Profs kickoff against Widener.
Go Rowan! Brown & Gold!

Now we are back to 9 games  >:(, it's unfortunate that being in the Mid-Atlantic and close to so many schools in both the East Region and South Regions, Salisbury can't get 10 games, it's not like they are perennial Top 10. Sheesh, what do we have to do to get a game? So now we have both September 21st and 28th open, I can't stand double bye weeks. This is not good when you have to play Montclair State (at their place) after a long layoff...

Maybe we can add Gallaudet to the 16th of November and move William Patterson to the 21st of September, since both Head Coaches are Salisbury Alum, lets make this happen. Otherwise get Misercordia to switch out that Keystone game and play Salisbury let Keystone play Gallaudet at the end of the year. Even can get Centre on the schedule for Nov 16th if William Patterson can move to the 21st.

Did the formerly named Virginia-Lynchburg drop the game? Like I said in a previous post, before Wesley picked up Endicott, Wesley and Salisbury were entertaining the idea of playing each other twice in the regular season. It's a shame that teams don't want to play each other, especially on the east coast.

2 different schools and teams. I still don't know much about either of them. Difficult to find decent info on line.

Yup. 1998 Toms River which included MLB player Todd Frazier.

NJ played well and was eliminated by Louisiana. The US little league champs. Louisana faces Curacao for the title tomorrow. A whole lot of great fielding, hitting and pitching. Some really good shortstops... Mexico, Oregon, Japan.  There was little Mariano Rivera type pitcher from Venezuela, his fastball moved. There are quite a few next-level players (College, Pro) in the lot.

One kid from Louisiana has a .750 WS BA. He has the sweet left-handed that always eluded me.

This time of year, I'm preparing Fall marketing campaigns for my clients, so I watched a lot of LL WS baseball.

Hey CNU85,

How far is Raleigh-Durham from you? Some weird stuff is going on... as we prep to move, a promotion opportunity for my wife has just become available in NC. We've always had a goal of moving South. Since we are already packing, she's interviewing for the position.  Now, I have to try and delay the house closing in NJ. The job is in a suburb of R-D. 85% less property taxes... more house for less. Gotta at least look at the opportunity.

I work from home, and can work from anywhere.

It depends on a few things...which side of Raleigh area and traffic. If you assume near downtown and assume no traffic (i.e you drive at 2am), it's a 3 hour trip. About 200 miles. Hope that helps.
