The little leaguers from NJ beat Oregon 6-2... they take on Hawaii on Sunday.  ;D

Oh my gosh....I thought D3 football preseason camps were open and I was on the football boards. Must have clicked the wrong link and landed in Little League Land!

Go NJ! A few years back, a Little League team from Maine-Endwell near Binghamton captured it all!

Didn't Toms River NJ win it all once?

The VA team this weekend had a pretty good  outing. back to back no hitters. Sunday's game ended after 4. 11-0

Yup. 1998 Toms River which included MLB player Todd Frazier.

NJ played well and was eliminated by Louisiana. The US little league champs. Louisana faces Curacao for the title tomorrow. A whole lot of great fielding, hitting and pitching. Some really good shortstops... Mexico, Oregon, Japan.  There was little Mariano Rivera type pitcher from Venezuela, his fastball moved. There are quite a few next-level players (College, Pro) in the lot.

One kid from Louisiana has a .750 WS BA. He has the sweet left-handed that always eluded me.

This time of year, I'm preparing Fall marketing campaigns for my clients, so I watched a lot of LL WS baseball.

I watched the US Championship game. Amazing talent. the catcher from Louisiana was superb.

CNU went up to #24 Randolph Macon yesterday for a scrimmage. Not sure how it went.

Any word on the Wesley QB situation?  Does anyone know when the scrimmage is?
Thursday vs Albright @ Albright
Nice. That should be a good way to gain insight on the Wesley QB situation. I do not know much and I can only speculate.... but, if I had to guess, right now Mullin and Marrocco are the frontrunners for the job. I would not be surprised to see on of the upperclassmen get the nod early on in the season, and they will have to play well to keep it. Marrocco did not really impress me in the ECAC game against Westminster. He was 4-9 for 50 yards, and 35 of them came on a play where he threw up a wobbler that was very underthrown, and Alex Kemp made a great adjustment to catch the ball.

Everyone is talking about freshman Drew Fry too... so there's that.

I wished Rowan recruited DE more heavily... a lot of gems out there like Drew Fry.
Go Rowan! Brown & Gold!

I would ask my son but he doesn't like talking about the players on the team. He tells me what he thinks, but the final say will come from the coaches. He did tell me the camp/preseason camp has been one of the hardest in his 4 years at Wesley, that's all he would really tell me

I had asked him how camp was going and he said it's hard, harder than normal and mentioned something about it being different but he never went in to detail

This is purely secondhand, but an RMC poster over on the ODAC board quoted a tweet from a CNU supporter that the Captains "won easily". No details, though.

Greetings, MSU will have their second scrimmage this Saturday against Columbia. Last Sunday they battled it out against Lackawanna, def some good things going on at Montclair.

I would pick CNU if this were a regular season game.

Me too!  ;D    I predict RMC will drop out of the Top 25 after week 1 and will not re-enter at anytime during the season.

I'm hoping the NJAC doesn't cannibalize itself this year, hoping that there are two clear winners that are playoff bound. We have some very tough OOC games by some of the favorites. If we can knock off those teams, it would not only be great for the NJAC, but the region as well. Additionally, realistic possibilities for Stagg conversations can occur.

Hey Fred,

Hope all is well with you. From what I read it looks like the Red Hawks could be in good shape this year. Looking forward to seeing you at the Salisbury game this year. Until then, Be Well !!!

Dave !!!
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

MRMIKESMITH

I'm looking forward to some big games in the NJAC, trying to see how Salisbury improves offensively in the big games and get some points on the board in the big games that matter. Also, looking forward to see if the Defense can carry over from an awesome group that was considered Top 15 in the nation last year. Looking at Kickoff, it appears that Montclair is the team to beat, they really played us very tough last year on our homecoming. CNU and Wesley will always be good games as they are our rivals, with each team  having to make the trek on Route 13 to play each other.

Anybody happen to attend the Wesley-Albright scrimmage last night?
