Still trying to figure out how Montclair lost to SoVA. Biggest upset of the wkd imo.

was a bizarre game, MSU had close to 500 yards of offense, they blocked a punt of ours and scored, we stalled twice inside the red zone with I believe two Int's, Montclair had their moments where it looked like they were dominating them, just bizarre

Widener 38, Rowan 28

The Profs suffered a season opening loss to cross-river rival, Widener. The atmosphere was great - over 5000 in attendance.

Kudos to the Pride, they were one step ahead of Rowan all game.

The Profs showed up with their same-old conservative "RPO" offense and were flat in the first quarter. Widener's QB found the gaps in the Prof defense and it was the difference in the game (their WR1 had around 13 receptions!).

The Husni era began for the Profs, and he played well.  He made a couple of great passes, but also lost a fumble which Widener  picked up for a TD.  One guy to keep an eye on is Mike Reed who was added to the roster late. He joined from the JUCO ranks and has incredible speed.

One thing that peaves me about D3 football is the spotty officiating - the human element is a great part of this level of the game.  I feel like they miss obvious calls or are inconsistent in some cases  ???

It doesnt get much better at the D2 level

A lot of the other coaches and I are keeping tabs on the NJAC trying to see if our predictions for this year are correct and stuff. Besides i hate Salisbury with a passion so i gotta keep an eye out. Think of me as that ex that even though i've moved on to bigger things i want to keep an eye out on what's going on.

In all joking aside i am just curious to see what's going on in the NJAC and seeing whose rising and falling in the league, especially since the reigning champs of both the NJAC and the Regents cup are no longer around.!

Glad to see Bobcat fans still roaming the board. More the merrier is my opinion.

You didn't say better, so I'm happy with that. All I know is that it was a struggle to get teams on the schedule this year, so we had to get a 1 and 1 with UW-Oshkosh and play some Exhibition game against a school in VA, although there were a couple teams that had and have openings during our open weeks.

Ice Bear looking forward to the Gulls matchup with Oshkosh this weekend. Hope the Gulls get the W.

NJAC needs a good showing this week after going 2-6 last week. It's gonna be tough. Salisbury-Oshkosh is pretty intriguing. Rooting for Salisbury also.

Wesley-Del Val will be a good matchup, but I like the Wolverines here. They showcased some depth (at minimum) in the game against FP. If they get some decent QB play from Marrocco or Mullin, itll be tough for the Aggies to keep up... as long as the Wesley defense is as good as advertised. Last year, Wesley beat them 34-10, holding them scoreless in the second half.

I will be able to make the Del Val game after all (I thought I was going to have to work Saturday) so really looking forward to seeing Wesley in person for the first time in what feels to be an eternity.  A real challenge to the Wolverines this game will be.  I haven't been to Del Val since probably my first season filming the team back in 2009.  I remember the (purposely) deep cut grass and old wood stands.   If Wesley can pull this off, then it is a sign that they are truly back in stride.  The QB's will really have to protect the ball as I suspect that the Aggies Defense will be pressuring them throughout the game.  I feel good with the running backs as it seems that Wesley has that old Jackson/Pennewell feel to it with a mixture of finesse and brute strength in the backfield.  If the defense is what I think it is this year we should see good aggressive play on the ball by a very active defensive line.  The secondary looked pretty good last week, but there will be better athletes on the other side of the ball this time around.  The entire game is a huge thermometer for Welsey this year no doubt.

You guys likely won't face another guy as talented as Del Val's Michael Nobile. He had an incredible 6.5 TFL against Kean.

I also might make the game.  As far as last week goes I would take nothing out of the first game for Wesley except they did what they should have done.  Del Val is always tough especially at Del Val.  As mentioned Nobile is a beast on defense and he will cause trouble no matter what.  I have never been a fan of a 2 QB situation so it will be interesting to see how it plays out.  The interesting part of the game to me is what Del Val will have on offense since they lost most of it from last year.  Wesley held that team to 10.  If it is a clean game, Wesley should win it, but as we have seen in the past, a clean game is not always what Wesley ends up playing.
