Wesley was lucky to win today, but they did win.  Last year they would have lost.  Up 21 - 7 and then implode, smh.  The offense looks disjointed and maybe too predictable.  Injuries have not helped but the turnovers can't happen.  They are certainly not a top 15 team in the country.  Next week will be very interesting as Salisbury had a battle with Montclair yesterday.

MRMIKESMITH

I'll take the W any day. As expected Salisbury played yesterday's game against Montclair like it was their 1st game, while a battle tested Montclair playing its first home game came out ready to play. Their were a lot of penalties and average special teams play for Salisbury, things that Salisbury can't afford when having an option attack. Kudos for Montclair for playing very well defensively and limiting the inside run game. Overall, I'm glad that this happen this week and not the upcoming week. Salisbury missed on some good opportunities to make some big plays, but I think that is due to the long layover. Defensively, the front seven continues to be dominate, but the back 4 has to learn how to  recognize combination routes. This may be due to the lack of scout team players being able to effectively run opponents offenses in practice, because of recruited players, but that needs to be fixed "THIS WEEK". As with the previous games this year,  the offensive coordinator continues to be aggressive with the play calling to be balance and keep opponents on their heels. With that the WR's did not show up, as they missed on key plays that could have open the game up more. As receivers in heavily run style offense, you have to capitalize on your opportunities. The WRs have to capitalize on one-on-one opportunities, because that's what they will face throughout the rest of the year, especially if the coordinator is actually calling plays for them as oppose to year's past. I do think that the RB/FB needs to be more involved than simple "A" gap plays, Montclair did a good job clogging up that all game. Also, on clear passing downs, get rid of those random PA plays that eliminates a slot running back from being a receiving threat and forces the QB to turn his back from the opposing defense, when they have pass blitzes on, it's a wasted offensive pass play IMHO, just run it in that case or come out in Shot-Gun (maybe run it out Shot-Gun). Oddly enough this team has not hit it's ceiling and has some more room to grow both offensively and defensively to become more than just an average Top 25 - Top 15 team and possibly be considered a good 2nd and 3rd round playoff team realistically. Going forward until playoffs, every team that we face has seen the offense, so their will be no surprises, Wesley knows the Option inside and out, so players are going to have win the one-on-one match-ups either at the WR position or a slot making someone miss for a big play. Defensively, every team that we face are going to try to attack the back 4 and test them, I know Wesley is going to do it early and often, because that's their style. Special teams, especially the punt team (snapper) has to improve, they were lucky these last two games and not trying to take a shot at the punter, but the Punt against UW-Oshkosh a few weeks back was more of a mental error on the Returner rather than a great punt by the punter. Overall, I'm expecting much improvement into Route 13 match-up, I didn't see much improvement from UW-Oshkosh game to the Montclair game, even with the long layover.

Neat evaluation!  +1 I expect SU to really mix it up as they usually do against Wesley by trying to launch the passing game early.  The Seagulls try to draw off the secondary to open up the run game.  I fully expect this to be a low scoring defensive affair.

Wesley had 3 drives in the second half derailed by fumbles on the QB-RB exchange. One of those was recovered in the endzone. Although it has been said there was a missed blocking assignment on that... either way, not good. One thing that strikes me is that Wesley seems to struggle in the passing game throwing anything downfield. Mullin was 15-20, but I felt like most of those were high percentage completions on screens, quick slants and shorter patterns. The mid-range to long-range game is non-existant (albeit a nice TD reception to Ruhann Peele in the 3rd quarter). And Mullin did have Peele wide open (and another receiver on the far sideline) on a post that would have iced the game at 28-14 and instead overthrew him. Just really not convinced by this group of QBs....

The defense hangs tough. I think they are a very solid group and are really to credit for this team's 4-0 start. Wesley will have to lean on them once again on Saturday against Salisbury.

Im gunna make this perfectly clear.... We are screwed.... Linfield played Rowan.... and they are a very good team.... THEY SHOULD HAVE WON ALL THIER GAMES ! WoW.... Our strength of schedule is going down hill but that doesn't take into factor that Rowan is REALLY GOOD!

Well.....the good news for me is.....I didn't really care about the game. My daughter got married Saturday!!!

The bad news....I think CNU just hit the point where we can officially say...we suck!

Now I'm going back to work!

Cheers!

I think Rowan will get near 500 so it wont be totally negative for Linfield's SOS.  Rowan is tough to play, limited on offense which is why they struggle to get wins.

Hopefully the tough early games will help the Profs in later games (MSU, WPU, Kean, CNU). I don't think they have the ability to stop Salisbury, that option offense just tore them apart last year.

I agree that Rowan does limit themselves offensively. Coach A makes it seem like we don't have the talent or players to toss it around, but I do think they do have the talent to open things up. It's their team so they can run things as they see fit but they have talented players at skill (Husni, Gross, Rehm, Ifreke Andy, etc.). Their run-heavy offense worked when they had an elite running back, e.g. Withler Marcelin. Right now Husni is just trying too much and that has resulted in a few critical turnovers.

Either-way, I'm proud of the team and I'm still excited about this season. They have fought hard against tough opponents and IF a few plays went in Rowan's favor this could be a 2-2 team.
Go Rowan! Brown & Gold!

Who the heck knows? Never been 0-4 before.  Don't know what the locker room or team chemistry is like. Not sure about the chemistry between players and coaches. The seniors are the last recruiting class of Kelchner. So many unknowns. When you lose to a team that went 1-9 last year and you were 7-2, with loses in OT and the vast majority of the team returning...there's some serious issues! I have no clue! just guesses and frustration. We will have our 2nd losing season in program history,

As weird as it may be, I still could see CNU winning a game against teams at the top currently.

I was convinced CNU would have a phenemenal year especially with all the investment in spring camp and the Canada trip.

Same here....7-2 last year (although we didn't  play Frostburg), both losses in OT, many returning players in key positions.....another year under the new coaching system/staff, the Canada trip.

Who knows, maybe the Canada trip created a bond that will be what gets the team through the current situation. I'm leaving the country for a few weeks on Saturday, so it will be interesting to see the record when I return. Maybe I will follow the game on the plane Saturday.
