Well, that was a great end to a turn-around regular season for Wesley.  I am really proud of Coach Knapp as he was able to get the Wolverines back on track, going from a disappointing 7-4 season (including the ECAC bowl win)last year to a 9-1 regular season record and a return to the playoffs.  This is his team.  Well done coach!

Wesley used 4 QB's today in their 42-7 victory over CNU.  Mullin and Marroco played in the first half with Drew Fry coming in at the end of the 2nd Quarter.  Fry showed why I like him so much.  With 2 TD strikes in the 4th he led all QB's with 192 yards passing. Wagenhofer finished up the game.  To Mullin's credit, he had 3 TD passes early on.

So Wesley goes into the playoffs with a ton of QB options out there.  Now it is down to where and who.  It's like old times once again!

p.s.  waterboy made yet another Home game.  The guy is stacking up some serious sky miles this year!

Looks like UW Oshkosh may play be playing Gulls into a number one seed.

In theory Salisbury is the NJAC/WIAC Champion...JK. However, that #1 seed looking really good.

....and just added another Pool C allocation for UWW.  Still not worried about Wesley's shot at one.

Wesley's QB Drew Fry got the NJAC offensive rookie player of the week honors.  8-10/192 yards and 2 TD's.  Congrats!  Not too shabby for his first game. All that in less than a half of play.

Finally, settling into the new house... man cave is starting to take shape. Watched the Profs battle back down 20-3 in the 4th to beat TCNJ 24-20... first time watching Rowan on the new 75".

Hope to see the non-Senior playmakers back next year. Missed a lot of football this year... college and pro. Next year, I want to take Austin to his first football game, he'll be 5 in early November 2020. Kean next year and maybe Montclair as long as the weather is nice.
Overall a disappointing season for the Profs, but if the key non-seniors return then they'll have good building blocks for 2020. Next season, QB Husni will lead the offense while DE Sunny Tapp and Safety Malachi Winters are on track to lead the defense.

Key Non-Seniors
Offense
QB Mike Husni
Clearly Husni is Rowan's quarterback of the future. It also looks like promising backup, Nick Couzzi, is no longer on the roster.

RB Messiah Divine (NJAC Rushing Champion), Ifreke Andy
Divine was Rowan's workhorse back this season. He's tough and durable and lead the conference in total rushing, but he rarely broke long runs which limited his impact on games. Likewise, Ifreke Andy, a talented prospect, wasn't able to produce much in his limited carries which impacted the effectiveness of Rowan's rushing attack in 2019.

WR John Maldonado, Nick Mainiero
Maldonado, a sophomore from Glassboro, turned into a sure-handed pass catcher in 2019 and is the most senior WR returning. Mainiero was a back-up all season but showed his potential on a few amazing catches in the season finale against TCNJ where he took a simple screen pass 70 yards for a touchdown

TE CJ Barrett

OL Pryce Bouchard (injured in the Wesley game), Mike Klein, Scott Dunscomb, Jefferson DeJean

Defense
DL Sunny Tapp, Xavier Brown, Luke Genise, AJ Akins
LB Mike Mascioli, Eric Matos
DB Malachi Winters, Ryan Swenson, Manny Pelzer

Specialists
P Tom Brennan (feel good story, but was 10th out of 10 in punting in the NJAC)
K Jake Hurler (freshman kicker, but struggled throughout the season)
Go Rowan! Brown & Gold!

Well, Salisbury has a real shot at getting to the semi's.  Wesley might very well have a rematch against Del Val in the offering with the expected quarterfinal at Mount Union.

Congratulations to both Salisbury and Wesley for making the Division III playoffs. I think both teams have a good shot to get to the third round. Although I think Salisbury has the higher probability to get to the Semi-finals. Still I think the potential round 2 match-ups for both teams will not be an easy task, as Salisbury potential has to face a good Union squad and Wesley has a potential rematch with Delaware Valley, albeit at home instead of on the road.

Good to see you there Ski! I am back home from a crazy day of traveling. Flight out of Salisbury got delayed, but I made the connecting flight in Philly by the skin of my teeth. Thank goodness I had to go just a few gates down.

I like the draw Wesley got. Framingham and then the winner of Del Val and Bridgewater. Very winnable round 1, with an interesting 2nd round game and probably Mount Union looming after that.

As far as yesterday goes, the result was as expected. Defense played really well. Offense seemed efficient. Mullin had 3 TDs to start the game, then Marrocco came in for a series or two before leaving with what looked to be a foot injury. Then Drew Fry came into the game and showed why he was so highly touted coming into the season. He made some throws that we have not seen a Wesley QB make this season. Wagenhoffer finished the game's final 2 series. He had a nice run to get Wesley to the 2 yardline before their final score of the day. I wonder what direction they will go next weekend to open the playoffs.

Well I had a great time on the field with the Seniors and the other parents and at the post game game party. Thank you to all the Seniors.
Also congratulations to the team for making it back to the playoffs after a down year last year.
Now about the QBs, I just have a feeling Mullin will start Saturday, just my opinion. The players and coaches spoke very highly of Fry, he's definitely the future of Wesley but right now he's also still learning. Like that 20 yard TD pass to Simpson. I asked about that play because I said it looked like both receivers were going to collide with each other in the endzone Simpson said he just ran underneath the ball and came down with it. While it was a TD it was the wrong read, Simpson just made the adjustment in his route. This is the learning phase for Fry but then on the other hand he throws a 49 yd TD pass to Simpson and does everything right. In the playoffs we won't be facing TCNJ, CNU or Willie P so do we go with Freshman that's still learning or with Mullin and Morroco and hope they can move the ball ??

I fully expect Wesley to continue to do what it has been doing: rotating QB's as their performance gets cold.  It is almost like pitchers in baseball.....

I prefer Fry based on what I saw yesterday. Man can sling it. He made throws that neither Mullin or Marrocco can make. He also showed some good judgement in pulling down and running for a first down on one occasion. Also something we have not seen in 10 weeks. Which touchdown are you referring to? The 49 yard pass had Simpson and Peele right next to each other. Fry rolled out on the 20 yarder and seemed to hit Simpson right where he wanted him.  I dont think that was a bad read at least from what it seemed.
