Well it is official.  I do feel for Mullin and Marocco as they did get the team through the year.   I recommend looking at Fry's highschool highlight reel as he is good.  Now to see how he plays in the limelight.  The one thing I noticed is that he is a lot like Joe Callahan.  He is a stoic on the field which is exactly what makes a QB like him good.  Looking forward to this game even though I will be late as I have a work commitment, grrrrr

I think the Wolverines and Skyrats will win by comfortable margins this weekend!

Lol!  A little hostility towards our friends from Maryland?  Hehehe..... Wesley should have this game in hand IF they put their playoff helmets on.  If anything, Wesley does a decent job of focusing when it comes to the playoffs.....except that somebody always brings the kyptonite to the Mount Union games it seems.  Joe Callahan almost withstood it's power by throwing chunks of it at the MU secondary with 8 TD passes and over 600 yards of passing.

hostility? me? nah....a term of endearment! hahahaha!

There were some interesting takes on https://d3football.com/columns/around-the-nation/2019/playoff-surprises-disappointments.

A fair evaluation of Wesley but I think they are underrating Salisbury.  There is no way a CWRU could beat them and I am not sold on Union......let the games speak for themselves.

Wesley could win 2 or none.  As far as Salisbury goes, they have avoided the blow up turnover game the option usually has this year, but that means that there is still one waiting to happen.  If they can avoid it they will be tough to beat in their bracket, if they have it they could be bounced in round 2 by either Union or CWRU.  The brackets are very good this year with more than the usual interesting toss up first round games.

Doing some digging... the last freshman to start at QB for Wesley was: Chris Warrick in 2003. Not even Joe Callahan started as a freshman (although he had Shane McSweeny in front of him).

I was curious to see how @JoeCallahan4 slipped Rowan's radar, so I asked him, and he replied "I wasn't recruited by Rowan or any other New Jersey school coming out of high school"

Wesley recruits very well
Go Rowan! Brown & Gold!

Triple option teams, with experienced and team dedicated athletes, are dangerous. It's boring... it isn't a star system. It requires a lot of buy-in... four years of buy-in at a time. Just look at Navy and Army. Wanna good bet... always bet a big 1A team not covering the spread after playing Navy or Army the week before. Having someone diving at your ankles for 60 minutes will wear you out.

I remember walking off the field in HS against a triple option team... 35+ years ago... we survived and won by 3. I was asked by the local press how I felt. I said I'd rather get blown out... my legs and knees have never hurt this badly after a game. I hurt the rest of the season.

Salisbury has the players matched to the system this year... no one wants to play them.

I find this odd... I can name every QB transition from 1992-2010... after 2010... I can't name the starting QB for Rowan... as no impression was made. I can name every single starting QB from 1992-2010 off the top of my head right now as I type. Can't name one after 2010, no impact QB's.

To not make a run at Callahan, is really odd.  We haven't had a great QB since 2005 (that's what it takes to go deep in the playoffs).

Not true...I can think of one team that wants to play them.

Drew Fry at the half: 20-23 for 304 yards and 4 touchdowns. Kid can play. Look out!

Wolverines blew them away. You think Rowan is better than Farmingham* St?
Go Rowan! Brown & Gold!

Yep, what a difference a QB can make!  Before being pulled early in the 3rd, Fry was 24-28, 345 yards passing and 5 TD's... .  He is a game changer for sure.  You could tell the receivers were getting separation purely from the fact that they know an accurate ball is coming their way.  That is a definite motivator!

Ice says Wesley with a really good QB = very dangerous! Nice to see the Wolverines take care of business. Congrats!
