Does anybody in these boards follow PA high school football?

First game live this year and I was impressed by Frye.  He throws a good ball and it gets there quick.  His long passes are on the money and the receiver catches them in stride.  Frye avoids the rush when needed but looks to make plays with his arm first.  The defense looked good, but Framingham dropped a number of passes and the QB was pressured into making some ill advised throws.  This Frye offense is far better than the offense I saw during the year and I expect them to give Del Val trouble, at least more than in the first game.  I think Wesley wins this game and who knows, they are only an upset in Ohio away from hosting a third round game.

I think the Union/Salisbury game is interesting, but I think the Gulls will win as they are playing better than I have seen them play in a long time.  The offense is not making mistakes and is always an issue for teams not used to defending it.  Union has played Springfield so they have a clue.  It should be a fun game.  Sort of wish it was at 4 and I could pull a double bill and head there after the Wesley/Del Val game.

wesleyDad,
I agree that Salisbury looks to be the team that has progressed the most and is the favorite. Union will be well prepared as they have prepared for this offense against Springfield. It should be a good game as points will surely be scored. I think I give Wesley the edge against the Aggies, but it should also be a dogfight before the yearly sacrifice to the Mount is determined.

I see that Union beat Springfield this year 27 - 17 with a comfortable lead going into the 4th quarter.  That can not hurt since they just need to refresh the defense on what to do, not learn it all in under a week.  Should be a good game if the Union D can get off the field.

Ice Bear says IHHO for the Dutchmen to win on Saturday they must do the following...score early and get a lead. Union likes to have long methodical drives and run the football which can certainly hurt an option offense (shout out to TOP here).

Ice says if the U comes out shell shocked and out of sorts, as they did this past Saturday, there will be no comeback. Hopefully the running game will be more effective and allow Bellemy more time to be poised and more accurate for the duration. Union always has the potential to make the big play on any given down with Irabor or especially through the air. Ice loves Bellemy, but being real here the question usually is not if Ross, Beal, or Sirmon can get separation from coverage, it's if Bellemy can get the ball to them (ice knows this is no easy task).

Ice Bear has watched Union play the triple option many times over the years against Coast Guard, Springfield, and Salisbury. Aside from when Chris Sharpe was QBing the Pride the Gulls run a more well rounded option attack (if that even makes sense) and tend to play at a higher level than Springfield. One reason is because they are much more comfortable and accurate throwing the football than Springfield is. Ice tends to look at Salisbury as Springfield on steroids. Union has a history of playing the option well. This is a run stopping defense...here is their test. This will be the tallest drink of water the Dutchmen have been asked to drink all season...

Rarely unless it deals with a Navy football recruit. I try to keep up with South Jersey updates since it's my home area. Why do you ask?

Saw a post on Twitter from a PA player who "committed" to CNU.

What high school?  There is a wide discrepancy among the public/private/charter/Catholic schools?

Great program.  Best team in the Lehigh Valley region for past 20 years.  Very well coached, and they play one of the toughest schedules in Eastern PA

Nice! Per Twitter, their QB indicated he's going to CNU. Of course, with D3, we wait until move in day to see who shows up!

You'd have to lead foot it a little. Haha and that little town of Greenville (they have green fire engines and police cars) whatever it's called  has a speed trap every time I go thru there . So you'd have to be aware.
