Wheels falling off. Although it is hard to play against the officials too. Missed a lost fumble by the receiver.

Waterboy.................I respect you very much but PLEASE don't go down the "hard to play against the officials too" path. You are better than that!! This is a pure old fashioned azz kicking........the likes of which we've never seen in this series.

I want to see if Wesleydad blames the loss on the officials.........something tells me that he will not go near that path.

After Drew Fry looked like the second coming of Jesus after his first two games.........DelVal has picked him off four times.

Almost 400 total yards AND over 175 on the ground, for a very pedestrian offense, lies at the feet of the Wesley defense.

The officials had zero to do with the 6 turnovers.

I'd say compared to the first meeting, the DelVal offense got better and quite frankly, the DelVal defense and special teams got better than Wesley did.

I went to Swarthmore by the way (and would never get in today by the way) so I have no skin in the match other than living on 4 acres in beautiful, bucolic Doylestown.

Heat of the moment post. But for real, that was a fumble. And a few ticky tack personal fouls early. AND the early whistle when Rick Hess was fighting for extra yards. I agree with most of what you said. But there were moments of poor officiating to aid the drubbing.

I knew it had to be a heat of the moment post. Wesley had the home cooking..................the refs didn't have out for either team. My opinion?

6 turnovers is a killer
Wesley has been a personal foul, penalty prone team most of the season
For some reason, DelVal looked a lot more fired up for this game
Dan Allen could not be covered
Wesley gave up farrrrrrrrrr too much on the ground to an average offense. Far too much.
Again, 6 turnovers is a killer.

I don't think Wesleydad or the ski guy even broach the refs subject given how many other places Wesley blew themselves up.

Wesley can "bully" most teams. DelVal has never been one of them.................and McSweeney tells me that it gets under most of the Wesley players skin, since way back in his day.

You can't turn the ball over, especially how, where and when Wesley did and beat a team that took you to 4 overtimes.

I had Wesley 31 - 20. Wesleydad had Wesley 31 - 10 (Please don't follow any of our predictions...........ever) ;) . For DelVal to hold that Fry-led offense, on their home field, in front a packed, loud house, to only 10 points was remarkable. I would have bet anything other than my life that would NEVER happen.

Entirely agree. 6 turnovers and 180 yards in penalties is not how you win. DelVal wanted it more also. WDEL commentators remarked numerous times how the Del Val crowd and sideline was louder and more fired up than that of Wesley. Del Val had the Wesley offense figured out. Clearly.

Onto next year from what I will chalk up to yet another rebuilding year for Wesley. Im happy there was a return to the playoffs, but I think the best is yet to come. EJ Lee returns in 2020, you also return a relatively young defense, a more experienced o-line, and of course Drew Fry who looks very promising, but looked very much like a freshman today.

Watched Union vs. Salisbury then caught the 4th qtr of the NC vs. Mount game... great ending in Alliance. It was only the second time I've seen Mount beat at home in the playoffs.

Currently watching St, John's @ Chapman. It's been a fun Saturday... all the Thanksgiving relatives departed after breakfast today. Peace and quiet plus playoff football, is just what the doctor ordered.

Congrats to Salisbury on the win over a talented Union team. The Salisbury offense looks unstoppable...many, many good athletes on offense that just played tough all game. Muhlenberg will be a great match up, but Seagulls are vulnerable in the air, which Muhlenberg is probably even better than Union. The Salisbury offense looks to be at peak performance for both run and pass, certainly good enough to score on anyone....but can you stop the next opponent?

First,  kudos to a great Union team.  Salisbury won the track meet today. Salisbury offense couldn't really be stop with the exception of few drives that stalled due to penalties.  The offensive coordinator for Salisbury adjusted for any front that was shown, Lahnam made some timely runs and throws that kept drives chugging along. Now to the other side of the ball,  I won't say we were exposed,  but Union definitely watched film and noticed that we couldn't cover anyone even when there were good defensive calls. Salisbury coverage appeared to just set and wait for  receivers to run routes and didn't anticipate patterns, it was horrid, Union didn't even run the ball,  but kept doing playaction passes just to keep lbs honest. I just know that they can be better and that's not how it was practiced.   Congrats to the Seagulls, they survived and advanced to play another week. The Mules will be a much stiffer test, don't see us scoring 60+, but you never know. Defense will have to execute much better and I expect a much better performance this upcoming week.

Ice Bear

Ice Bear wants to congratulate Salisbury on their impressive win today over Union. The Seagull offense was firing on all cylinders and was very impressive to watch (even when drubbing his beloved Union D). Ice just has a ton of respect for the Gulls and will certainly be a HUGE Gulls fan come next week.

Ice concurs with MANDGSU's thoughts on hoping the defense will be able to do enough against the Mules. Ice really hopes they can.

Pretty disappointing way to end the season but Del Val showed up with a chip on their shoulders.  They outplayed Wesley in all three phases of the game.  Fry made some Freshman mistakes and the Del Val secondary was effective in covering the receivers.  I haven't looked at box score but penalties really hurt today, many of them just downright stupid. Add a fumble return and the wheels did indeed fall off.

That said, we Wesley fans should be quite happy with this year's  season.  The team rebounded from a 7-4 season to get to the second round of the playoffs.  We now have an heir apparent QB and E.J.  Lee coming back next year.  Not too shabby.  Thank you Wesley for a great season that showed a lotta heart and promise of some great games ahead.

Well not all bad news for Wesley fans today... Joe Callahan just signed on to the practice squad with the Detroit Lions.

The way quarterbacks are dropping in the NFL I thought Joe would  have gotten  a spot a bit sooner. I wonder how this effects his contract with the XFL. I know that Joe's agent had been contacted by a few NFL teams before this but his dad didn't go into details...

I really enjoyed the click bait material that was posted on twitter that tried to make Salisbury out to be the villain and or a 'classless program', Salisbury is far from that. We had better film that showed the whole story, so please do your research before making assumptions about the players and Coach Wood, who just wanted to make sure his players were safe. Also, their were and are many Union fans that would agree with me on the kneel down play at the end of game.

The videos together tell the story.  The Union LB acted like a dbag on the kneel down.  Pretty much the entire Salisbury team acted like dbags with their silly taint dance thereafter.  It's fine; gotta remember they're all a bunch of kids playing an emotional game.
