Math is my game. Numbers are my life (manage risk capital for people with a lot of money..........and continue to short volatility thru leveraged ETP's and ETN's ).

Here are a few numbers:

Muhlenberg has given up 7 more points, AT HOME, at THE HALF than DelVal did to North Central, ON THE ROAD, FOR THE GAME.

Muhlenberg gave up 334 yards in the FIRST HALF. DelVal gave up, on the road, 365 yards, FOR THE GAME.

Greenfield has run for 132 yards in the FIRST HALF. DelVal held him to 95 on 28 carries, FOR THE GAME.

Kamienski has 11 catches for 132 yards AND 4 TD's in the FIRST HALF. DelVal gave him 7 catches for 82 yards and 1 TD, FOR THE GAME.

Math is beautiful. Math has irrefutable laws. Math is beautiful, she's sassy. I love you math. ;)

.....and yet Wesley beat Del Val to start the year.  So much for your math.

-Ski

Oh PLEASE don't go there after that 45 - 10 slaughter on Wesley's home turf (where the DelVal faithful were greater in numbers and louder). From that first game (a 4 OT game by the way), which team got better as the year went on?? I'd say the team that won, on the road, 45 - 10. Now THAT is the math that matters Ski. That's 3 wins in the last 5 meetings for DelVal. More math. ;)

......And make that 28-0.  Del Val would have been swallowed up pure and simple.   You can't expect teams to match a MU vanquisher without some serious challenges being thrown their way.

-Ski

Ski, when my undergrad school (Swarthmore) dropped football and I moved out to bucolic Doylestown (it really is gorgeous and located perfectly to Philly, NYC, the Poconos, Avalon, etc.), I adopted DelVal.

If Wesley closes it's doors (and I believe that happens within a year or two), you can adopt DelVal as well. Don't adopt Widener, Chester is no Doylestown. :)

I think your prediction of Wesley's demise is extremely premature.   Regardless, I wouldn't adopt another team as Wesley is but two blocks away from my door and is my Alma mater.  Prior to attending, I was already a fan while still in the USAF and became a full time student after retiring.  I traveled with the team for 3 years as the team's videographer and after 10 years still film the home games.  So, no, there is no other team to "adopt."

-Ski

Given that you are so close physically to the school and there are really no other schools nearby, I understand not 'adopting' another school. Delaware State would be a great adoption candidate should you change your mind. I'm not 'predicting' Wesley's demise. Their situation is tough though and getting worse. A senior level executive with Bank of America is part of the team tasked with helping them look at various options.........none of them are great. I hope they stay open, but they might meet the same fate that some small schools have.........and more that will in the years to come.

We all hope for the best.

Widener (Pennsylvania Military College) is my Dad's alma mater. I've been to Widener for Rowan games. I asked my Dad if the neighborhood was always this bad (he graduated in 1965)... he said yeah, it hasn't really changed.

It's actually gotten worse if you look at the crime stats. I feel bad for many of the families in the area. Very little help for them and low paying jobs abound.

The shipbuilding and other manufacturing started leaving in the 1960's. It's a lot like Camden, NJ.

Watching the Stagg Bowl and you always reminisce about what could have been in years past. Granted, I don't think it was in reach for Wesley this year talent-wise, but there have been several very close ones in the past 10 or so years.... oh well, there's always next year...

Watching how DelVal was a fumble away from a 24-21 game AT North Central.................forget year's past. How about a couple of weeks past? They would have pasted Muhlenberg last week and who knows what they would have done last night. That DelVal defense was better than North Central (Wesley saw that both games this year). Would they have beaten UWW? Who knows. But defense does tend to at least keep you in games.

Hard to say. That would have only put DV within 3 and I don't think DV had the offense to get the job done even if you wipe the fumble. But I hear where you're coming from. Hats off to NC though. They would not be denied yesterday.

Also I hear Wesley-DV is not over and that the series will continue next year.

It was actually over but Wesley pleaded with DelVal to continue it as scheduling is tough enough already after Frostburg's departure. I'm not surely Wesley winds up with a legit game next year without DelVal and that would have meant another sacrificial lamb game like Franklin Pierece this year.

Merry Christmas! I haven't decided on road games for 2020 yet. If I make the trip, I will reach out to you. Too bad my daughter doesn't live near there anymore!
