Really proud of Wesley today.  They really gave Salisbury a run for their money even without a punter (the QB did the best he could, even if he knelt with the ball accidentally inside Wesley's own 15), without a kicker (with one kick actually going backwards!!) and a depleted defensive line that had no rotation.  I mean really, what would this team have been if the hatchet hadn't been dropped on the program?  I was stunned at just how resilient this team was with this being the last (?) home game in Wesley history.  Because of Covid, there were hundreds of people lining the outside of the fences including an entire section of ex-Wesley players cheering the team on.  Yeah, we didn't win, but losing to Salisbury 32-30 with a last minute failed on-side kick attempt by a Wesley offensive lineman of all people was pretty impressive.  I gave the Wolverine at the center of the field a heart felt pat and walked off for what will most likely be the last time.  You really don't want to experience anything like that yourself, trust me.

It was a valiant effort, and I was impressed there was a reasonable kick at the end. Also having Drew Fry eligible would have been a boost, but Walters did a great job.

Another last game for Wesley, this time against Montclair State. A good solid effort for the Wolverines today.  The defense really made a difference.....and having a good kicker didn't hurt either!  These games mean so much more for the players, coaches and fans.  Well done team!

Great to see that Wesley has one more home game to close out it's football history.  Stevenson will visit in the first week of April.  A Friday night game to boot.

Wesley takes their final road game 23-7 over CNU.  It was more of CNU gifting turnovers than it was Wesley playing well.  Lots of penalties, but that is expected this season.  It was nice of the CNU announcers to acknowledge the significance of the game and the impact that Coach Drass and Coach Knapp had on the sport.  Another last in the books as Wesley heads back home to play its final home game. >sniff<

Mmmmmmm......Stevenson cancelled the Wesley game.  Not sure, but that may have Wesley's season.  Only time will tell.   :-\

Thanks to Pat and Keith for a great Podcast highlighting Wesley football's proud history.  Listening to all of the other stories really brought the team to life if only for a final, short time.  Here's to the memory of Coach Mike Drass and everything that Wesley football was to the players, coaches and fans.  It was one hell of a run, that is for sure.

Indeed. Glad to see CNU fill up their schedule so fast. Hopefully Rowan does the same

Rowan instagram has been busy. They have reported a massive list of "commits". They usually have around 50 freshman each season, so not surprise is the large class. Hopefully they have some gems in the group.

I'm wondering if any of the Wesley posters (or for that matter, anybody else on the board) has heard of where some of the Wesley underclassmen are heading. Are there any players who are going to move on to Delaware State? Any of the other NJAC or MAC schools? All seems quiet right now but I'd expect that to change shortly. I've heard a couple of things but am not privy to mentioning them on the board just yet.

Good question. I know Shymere Vessels transferred to DelVal. Will report back any news if/when we come across it.

Credit Coach Wood and the Gulls for taking on UWW in Week 2. That should be a fantastic game. Seeing some NJAC/CCC and other crossover (NJ/E8)  due to the losses of Wesley and Becker. Should be an interesting fall in "Regions 1 & 2".

Sounds good ITH. I was hoping that Wesleydad, teamski and the other Wesley folks might have some information. I don't know anything about Vessels and if he will make an impact at DelVal. But if he is a stud and is in the middle of the Nobile brothers, that is one nasty front three!!

I'm also interested to see what the NJAC comes up with now, having to schedule 4 out of conference games. I see that Montclair is playing DelVal on September 11. I'm wondering if Kean honors that game at DelVal (probably on September 4) as the home and home for the game at Kean in 2019.

These schedules are coming out slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, even for some conferences with very little in the way of out of conference games. Maybe the NJAC and MAC conference offices have at least the conference schedules, if not the full schedules for each team.

The waiting.............is the hardest part (great song)!!! :)
