Looks like around the rest of the NJAC, we had some good tough games. Kean defeated CNU in OT down in Newport News. That was a somewhat surprising results. CNU had more yards overall in the game, but it look like turnovers and some big long drives by Kean was able to get the game into OT with a timely pass on the first play and then a jump ball to Kean's big receiver. Then a bad throw on the 1st play of OT that was intercepted and that was game. What was shocking is that Kean did not throw one pass in 4th quarter, but came out passing in OT. TCNJ got a good win over Willie P, it appeared to be a defensive struggle, I believe Willie P had the most yards, just couldn't get into the endzone. TCNJ was able to establish the run, but got 3 fgs mostly off of Willie P's turnovers. Willie P had one drive that ended on downs and I think that hurt.

Up this week, we have Rowan at Kean, CNU at Willie P, and Montclair at TCNJ. Salisbury is on their 2nd bye in 3 weeks.
On the personal front, we're expecting our baby boy within the next week. Maybe I'll catch Rowan vs Kean from the hospital :)

Congrats! Time goes fast. My son is turning 6 in November. Take lots of video and pics, especially with Grandparents. Enjoy the early years. Try to have at least one weekend getaway with just the wife around 6-12 months in.

I don't think I had any kids when I first posted... suddenly I have a 21 and a 16 yr. old who's busy trying to figure out where to play softball in college.

You didn't have kids when I met you, that's for sure.

My oldest will turn 24 in November -- the same day that D3hoops.com will turn 24. I had been working on launching the site in its new home (I was taking it over from the Centennial Conference) and when Keaton was born, I knew I was suddenly not going to have as much free time to finish the project, so I burned the midnight oil that first night when kid and mom stayed in the hospital overnight.

Wow. It seems like yesterday. I remember some good conversation, a couple drinks and cigars with you in NJ back in the beginning. Can't fathom that 24 years have passed. I was in Cleveland this weekend at Case Western on a college visit. Twenty four years ago I would have told you that I never heard of the place!

I didn't realize that Division III videos could get in trouble for copyrights when broadcasting on Youtube. I would have thought that the schools would have paid or ran it through the communications/pr department.

The YouTube algorithm doesn't care or know that a school has paid its ASCAP and BMI licensing. Indeed, one could get taken down because of the background music played at live sporting events. Schools should consider muting during the music if they don't have broadcasters.

It is definitely one of the drawbacks to using YouTube, which is free.

Okay, makes sense, I went back a couple days ago to try and watch last weeks game and it had "SME Copyright" Then today, the game froze at the 11 minute mark after the end of some background music.

My daughter won a fastpitch softball national championship which was broadcast on Fox Sports West and was "forever" immortalized on YouTube... that is until the YouTube algorithm detected Queen (We are the Champions), and the Beach Boys music played on the stadium loudspeakers after the last out and all through the post-game interviews and trophy presentation. Gone, gone, gone...

Nice to hear Sean Greene and Jason Bowen on the call in the Dover High-Appoquinimink game on WDEL. Man....

There were some interesting results in the NJAC this weekend. Willie P got a big win over the Captains of CNU, winning 48 to 28. A lot of offense was on display this game, but no more than Matt Clarke, who was featured on this morning (Monday) ATN Podcast, having a career day, hauling in 11 receptions. 318 yards receiving and 4tds, this will probably land him on Team of the Week as well. CNU's Garrsion Mayo had a good game as well, hauling in 10 receptions for 155 yards and 1 td. Kudos to Coach Johnson (Salisbury Alum and Legend). I want him to do very well, just not against his alma mater.

TCNJ has won three straight after losing two OOC games to two teams that are a combined 9-1. They got a big win over Montclair State at Montclairs homecoming, coming away with a 14 to 9 win. I'll be honest with everyone here that are following the NJAC. Montclair has a Top 25 Defense, however, I'm not sure what's going on offensively with them, not sure if it's personnel or schematics. They play hard, but the defense can only do so much. It's unfortunate that their bye-week is a couple weeks away, they have to do some soul searching offensively. Nevertheless, kudos to TCNJ for putting together an early 4th quarter drive and holding on to win late.

Congrats to Kean for winning a good back and forth game against Rowan, capping off the final td by going 6 plays for 93 yards with 50 seconds remaining to win 24-17. This was a very interesting game, both teams battled in the 1st half and kept each off the scoreboard all second half until that last Kean Drive. Both teams had some good WR play with Kean's Jamison hauling in 12 receptions for 160 yds and 1 td, while Rowan's Maldonado had 13 receptions to go along with 134 yds and 1 td. However, the biggest play was Lucia's pass to Toppin for 68 yards that led to the winning td. Kean has won two straight after losing it's 3 OOC games to teams that are a combined 14-1.

Kean and TCNJ sit atop of the NJAC, both 2-0 and face off in a big game this week to see who will remain atop the NJAC. Salisbury faces Rowan as Salisbury looks to keep up with in the NJAC and remain undefeated in conference, while Rowan will look to get its first win of the season after some early season heartbreaks. Montclair travels to CNU as both teams will try to rebound from this weeks tough losses.

Other than Salisbury, it looks like someone took the preseason coaches poll and inverted it to come up with the current standings.  :P

A little over a month ago, I watched DelVal destroy Kean, 57-6 (and it could have been much worse). Kean rushed the ball 23 times for -4 yards and threw it 27 times for 60 yards.

I saw the final score of the Kean vs. Rowan game and my jaw hit the ground. How did THAT happen and what the heck has happened to the Rowan program?

If Rowan, Montclair or CNU don't start drastically improving their programs, with Frostburg and Wesley gone.........Salisbury might just dominate this conference, for as long as they are a part of it (little rumor, with not enough substance to post here at this point).
