Hoping that Alvernia will be able to hang with the Gulls and DelVal within a couple years.

Heading up to Reading tomorrow because they recruiting my daughter as a field hockey player. She has looked at CNU as well.

I'm stunned that Alvernia hasn't made more progress up to this point, especially with how they package financially (i know some wrestlers there) nd given that Albright has been down for a few years now.

I think it's going to take a while for both Alvernia and Albright to make a significant impact. With Delaware Valley being so dominant, it's going to take a significant class or two to get the interest up. With so many scholarship programs starting in Pennsylvania and New Jersey that traditionally weren't scholarship programs, the pool of top athletes gets diluted. It's going to take either getting good talent in and/or have a offensive scheme (air raid, triple-option) that can win you 4 to 6 games, then as interest builds, eventually get to 6-8, and so on.

Alvernia's D Line coach is a CNU guy.

Have you guys visited CNU yet?

She visited CNU in July and played in a pick up game. I had to work so my wife took her down.

She had fun. She had a hard time getting a read on the atmosphere with no students there. I told her that people always treated us first class whenever I visited and that, at least for football, it was great. She will likely make a second visit.

I met coach Byrd when we were at AU! It was great to see all the Wesley guys, especially Coach Azz, who was my work study student in the SID office at Wesley back in the 90s when he played football, baseball and lacrosse. He brings an enormous amount of positive energy and is a tireless worker.

Hi Pollster's, just wanted to extend an invitation to join the ERFP for this upcoming season. We will continue to do R1/R2. Feel free to DM or respond here if interested. I'll reach out to last year participants to gauge any interest as well.

Nice catch! I expected a few more to still be playing (Brandon Bradford, Xavier Drummond, Brady Walters), but with COVID providing the extra year, I'm betting some finished school and hung them up early....

Anyone other than d3jason and I from NJAC land that want to participate in the weekly fan poll?

I would love to, but I am too inconsistent - would miss some weeks when I travel. I will watch from afar! haha!

Good game by Salisbury last night. I won't be doing a Good, Bad, and Ugly this year. I think the D3football and ITH do a great job analyzing the teams and potential. Onto next week against the team in Owings Mills.

CNU85

Nice win by CNU on the road vs the ODAC defending champs. CNU defense played an outstanding game. Nice win for Crowley to start out his head coaching career!

Good to see the NJAC do pretty well this opening weekend. It was also mentioned on today's (Monday) podcast. Also, had a chance to watch Rowan play and they look to really challenge this year. Looking like the coaches that voted them #2, really did their homework.

Looking ahead to Salisbury upcoming matchup against Villa Julie College. Salisbury has to build off of the good that was showed. The defense look really good, although they had some new faces at some key positions, I think the new starters acquitted themselves well. Although Albright didn't pose to much of a threat both offensively and defensively, but when you go back to film, you can always find ways to improve (maybe Albright should have traded film  ;)). The main issue is the players not getting big headed about beating Albright. I think Villa Julie will be a much better challenge this upcoming week, being able challenge through a good balance offensive attack while presenting a much more experience defensive unit to challenge a young but talented offensive unit in Salisbury. Also, this matchup may have playoff implications due to H2H result with MAC favorite Delaware Valley (and their matchup with Montclair State), could be the difference between 2/3 or 3/4 seed come playoff time and possibly two to three home games.

Circling back to what appears to be an improved NJAC, this will only make Salisbury better. Salisbury was blitzed last year against Johns Hopkins and that had to do with not really seeing that talent level within conference late in the season. Hopefully it's a different tune this year. If not, Salisbury will have to find ways in practice to challenge both its offense and defense in those perceived areas of "weakness" that can show against top 25 level opponents, especially Top 15/10 opponents. Again, it was good refresher to see the NJAC perform well as the NJAC has typically been touted as one of the top conferences within R1/R2 and nationally.

The school has been known as Stevenson since 2008. Curious as to why you would reference them by their old name.
