Good to see people commenting when team is down, wishing their team was still around. With that said here is my Good, Bad, and Ugly:
haha +k. I still pop on here from time to time. Pulling for NJAC teams and Alvernia... but you are right about wishing my team was still around... Saturdays are boring now....

I wish Salisbury (or someone) would make some noise, but it just seems like everyone in the NJAC has taken a step back in recent years which kind of stinks to see. Rowan, CNU, Montclair and Salisbury all aren't anywhere close to their peaks in terms of how well they play. In Salisbury's case, I think they need to scrap the option. Sell out for a more conventional look to get more quality athletes at QB and WR. It'll take time perhaps, but Salisbury has all the other pieces in place. I recall a conversation with a great former Wesley WR, who was being recruited by Salisbury. He said he was not interested as soon as they said the word "option."

So close. Much closer than I expected. CNU had a chance to win. I'm not sure if CNU is a lot better than I am thinking or if JHU is way over ranked. A little of both?

I hope Dzierski is ok. Our backup QB shows promise.

On to next week.

Speaking of Alvernia.......................losing to an Eastern team in their SECOND GAME in their existence!! Yikes!!!

Also, that Rowan loss to Stevenson looks even worse now after Stevenson then goes on to lose their home opener to the "other' Valley, Lebanon Valley.

With as much as Delaware Valley lost this offseason, maybe this is a King's/Leb Valley/Widener kind of year.

New top 25 is out: Salisbury out as expected. Surprised not see CNU with more votes. I think CNU staff has been building something and have the athletes and OC/DC to make some noise. CNU reminds me of the Frostburg teams from 2016 to their DII departure. Battled Salisbury tough for a few years, then take them to wire. Then the next year supplant them. It's literally because Salisbury has peaks and valleys and Salisbury has a ceiling because of scheme and maybe administration that prevents them from taking the necessary next steps. To thewaterboy, I think Salisbury QB struggled, because he is not use to passing in in-game situation. I'm sure in practice, he isn't getting a rush and the OC is probably telling scout team to stand in certain spots instead of having them pass against varying defenses. Nevertheless, back to my point, looking at CNU game against Hopkins, they acquitted themselves well and it appears that CNU stock over the past 5 years has been rising while Salisbury has level out. I expect the game on 30th to be a big one and will tell me if Salisbury is Happy with just having a good football teams and not rising to the level of its Lacrosse, FH, and Track team with competing for National Championships.

In reference to CNU85's post about game day...........

At Rowan the atmosphere is energetic and fun on gameday. Especially homecoming which is setup right outside the stadium.

Rowan has hosted several night games recently and are usually followed with fireworks.

I have noticed a small tailgating scene - especially the on the visiting side.

NEW in 2023, Rowan has a newly formed marching band, The Pride of the Profs. Coach Accorsi is very excited about the new marching band.

Rowan also has a large crew of Cheer and Dance teams.

The stadium is relatively simple with a single concession booth. I have seen food trucks to alleviate the long lines. In recent years, they opened a Beer Garden in partnership with a local brewery (the Bone Saw). This has been a popular addition.

I don't know the attendance numbers but I would say it hovers around 3000 on a good day.

Tickets are around $8.

Now that I live closer to Glassboro, I try to attend all the home games.

I'm going to have to make a road trip soon! This sounds great. I remember the first time we played Rowan at CNU. Rowan came out of the locker room with a player playing the bagpipes. That was pretty cool.

Since I've been all of them, all be it, not in a couple of years, here is my ranking.

1. It's CNU, always well attended, band. Sorry to have missed the new deck.
2. I have to go with Salisbury, well attended, new facilities are top-notch.
3. Rowan, pushing for 2nd, you had me at "beer garden." (even though I didn't get to go in it). Stadium name always make me smile in a juvenile way. Nice that there is a band now.
4. TCNJ- Nicest of the remaining facilities though aging, used to see some decent crowds when they were winning back in the 90s. Would be neat to see them put it together again. It has been too long.
5. Kean, major improvement from the 90's when I battled a hornet nest while standing on top of the old press box.
6. Montclair State, not often well-attended for a historically tough team. Pressbox needs an upgrade. Big school should have better attendance.
7. William Paterson, once broadcast a game here from under a pop-up canopy on the visitor side next to their student radio. You would think a school that produced Dick Vitale and Kevin Burkhardt would treat their student broadcasters better. Never did get to do a game from inside the pressbox, but got a nice sunburn on the roof of it. Not well attended.

1. CNU is one of the better facilities I've been to
2. Rowan facilities upgrade has made it a nice place to catch game. Odd that they went from being Ok with booze at tailgates in the 90's to banning alcohol in the 2010's... to now having a beer garden.
3. Kean is not bad.
4. TNCJ is OK
4. Montclair and Willy P are probably just two of the worst places to see a game... both feel like afterthoughts. And not renaming the field at Montclair after Sam Mills is a travesty.

Now that I live in SW Ohio, catching Mount Union on the road is more likely than seeing a Rowan game. The Profs played well on both sides of the ball this week, so that was nice... caught the game on the web.

Wife got promoted and transferred. I do marketing from home. My son will be 8 in November. We visted the Cincinnati area a few times because her boss wanted to see if we'd like it. The people are so nice and the city is so clean. There's plenty to do. Tennessee is on the potential retirement living list. My son is still young enough that he hasn't developed those life long relationships. So we decided to go for it. And for a bourbon drinker like me, the good small batch KY and TN stuff is significantly cheaper.

We are living in between Dayton and Cincinnati. Son is getting busy... he's got BJJ, drum lessons, and catechism.  There's indoor kiddie flag fb in January, if he's interested.

I haven't touched a golf club in about 20 years. Got a nice public 9 hole executive course 3 miles from the house, and a 36 hole 5 miles from the house. Feeling the tingle. Gonna work at the indoor and outdoor ranges in the offseason.

Homecoming at the high school is on Oct 6. The locals have told me that on Friday night, the town basically stops for football, and homecoming is even larger. Planning on taking the kid and the wife to feel the energy.

Catechism..................love it. Churches are so devoid of young people these days. You are doing a great job and teaching him, by far, what is the most important in the very brief time that we are here. God Bless you for it!!

I'm been very fortunate to be an older Dad with a 7-8 year old. I am able to experience all these great things as my son goes through them for the first time. I did my 14 hr work days before he came around. Bus stop waiting in the AM is great. Yesterday, he explained to me why farts make noise. Good times. Every morning it's something interesting.

Farts are fun. While drum lessons are promising, a good pep band, in addition to a kazoo, needs a trumpet. Air being pumped through a narrow opening results in a glorious sound! Let me be the first Pep Band recruiter to reach out to JT2 Jr. He would be most welcome at Alfred University....an easy 8 hour drive from Cincy...to add to our amazing glorified flatulence.

On Saxon Warriors!

My son has been exposed to music very early on... blues, pop, rock, and country and when Mom isn't around we listen to the good stuff AC/DC, Kiss, Metallica, Motley Crue, etc. He's never really been into kiddie songs, has his own playlists. He mentioned he wanted to play in a rock band. I said there are three main instruments, guitar, piano, and drums. He picked drums. I said fine, but he must commit to 30 weekly lessons, and he can't quit before 30 lessons.

Echos of my Father... I was never allowed to quit any sport mid-season, and any lessons had to be for a minimum of six months.
