All I want for the New Year!
Rowan:

1. A Great Recruiting Class!
2. A better running game.
3. Maybe even a running game coordinator.
4. Healthy Oriel
5. Less fumbles from the RB's
6. Better clock management by the offense for the defense.

Have a Happy New Year!

RU Fan

Anybody have any info on how the Profs are doing in the  recruiting wars ...... freshmen, transfers, etc.?

Any news on Orihel or Encarnacion?  Did they both have surgery and, if so, how is the rehab going?

Will they both be ready to go in August?

Hope everyone is having a great New Year! ;)

JT

Orihel had the pins out around Xmas time.

The Profs' baseball season preview is online.  Curious to see that Robert Rose of Piscataway, who was listed as an incoming QB for Rowan this Fall that never made their football roster is in line for a spot in the starting rotation.

Profs key additions include:

OF Tim Edmeads - D3 JUCO Player of the Year for perennial D3 JUCO powerhouse Gloucester CC, two years of eligibility.  Drafted by the White Sox out of high school in the 49th Round.  Played his freshman year at West Virginia where he hit .284 (21-74), 2, 7.  Edmeads was the 2003 Courier Post Player of the Year at Buena H.S.

RHP Alexy Still - Transfer from NAIA Vanguard University (CA), two years of eligibility, had played at Camden CC, Cherry Hill West Grad.

RHP Kevin O'Hara - All-South Jersey frosh from perennial H.S. power Gloucester Catholic figures to be in the rotation.

3B Miguel Sosa - transfer from D1 FIU with three years of eligibility, never played for the powerhouse program that has seen at least two players sign pro deals every year since 1989.  Ranero's stop at Barry Univ. had to help this kid coming in, who was born in Miami.

Rowan begins their season on Saturday against Virginia Wesleyan and Cortland State.  I think #5 in the country is way too high considering the pitching they lost, but it only proves how most "national polls" in D3 just look at previous years' results and program reputation over true talent evaluation.

P.S.  Rose threw for over 1,400 yards in H.S. and a school-record 25 touchdowns.  Wonder why he didn't come out for football, or did he and didn't make the cut?  Did he perhaps play JV?  Anyone with info, please feel free to fill us in.  He certainly could have contributed last season...

JPS93, did you know we now have baseball boards? Would be great for you to pick up that discussion there.

By the way, since there's usually a fair amount of crossover between sports, just a reminder to people that we now have men's and women's lacrosse message boards as well:

A couple of people have told me that Mike Orihel has healed and has started throwing.

That's great news about Orihel being back. ;D

Have you heard anything about Encarnacion?  I would guess that he's almost ready to go by this time also.

What's going on with recruiting?

JT

RUFan,

I know that UE's goal was to be ready for Spring practice.  I haven't heard any news.  News may trickle in about recruiting in over the next few months.  If I have anything substantial I'll post it here.

I haven't touched the site in about two months.  I've been very busy with a business launch.  I hope to start attacking Rownfootball.com by end of March/early April.

How much longer to Pre-Season???  Great News about Oriel.  He should be the real deal this year.  Could probably have taken a shot at the title, but without Bond, Encarnacion, Berry, and Oriel.. The complexion of the entire Prof team was off.  I would also love to hear about recruiting and if Acorsi is out looking for Book Ends to replace Silva and Wright...  Should be fun... See ya in Salem???

PBR...

hear the pressure is really on keeler at delaware the latest incidents involving the team down there....anyone else hear anything?

Sounds like KC Keeler is up to his old ways just like he was at Rowan.  Four of his players in hand cuffs.  It was reported that 3 of his players tried to rob, at gun-point another player of his Steriods, cocanie and marijuana, while wearing masks.  Sounds like a party on the Delaware campus.

Say what you want about Acorsi, but he has had the same winning tradition at Rowan without all of the negative headlines associated with KC's tenure.

[unnecessary potshots and allegations deleted]

Keep up the good work KC!!!  You definitely represent what is great about college football.

By the way, has anyone heard any news on recruiting for this seasons upcoming PROFS???

"It's been a real tough day," Delaware athletic director Edgar Johnson told the News Journal Monday. "I think, by and large, everyone's disappointed in the kids. You recruit kids, you invite them to your campus, and you just hope they're quality people with character. Then they do something stupid like this."

After all that is involved in the recruiting and admission process one would hope that Mr. Johnson, Mr. Keeler, the coaching staff and the admissions department, can do a little better than just "HOPE" they've recruited quality people with character.

Knightstalker

Maybe KC wants to turn Delaware into the D-1AA UofM.

Pat,

Not for nothing, but I think that you editing my message, which was intended, not as slander, but as humor, was completely unfounded.  This for one, is a message board, and my views or opinions, for what they are worth, should be allowed for all to see.

With our first amendment rights, and this not being a communist country, I think your George Orwell, 1984 - Big brother editing of my post was unjustified.

I am a PROF fan, and if I make jokes or comments about an old coach from my school, they should not be edited to your liking.

This post pattern forum, not just the east region, constantly has posters posting theirs views, and opinions, not necessarily based on facts, and I feel that my comments were removed unjustly.

xgsc,
I heard your message tonight about the fund raising telethon.  I do not have your phone number or e-mail address, but you can count on $500.00 from me.  You can e-mail me at mgr2153@alliedhomenet.com.
Thanks,
JL
