I definitely agree about the 9 game season, but it is kinda beating a dead horse at this point.

One of the best things I've read on this board.

Pat,

Thanks for your vote of confidence.  However, at this point in the pre-season, there really isn't much more to talk about.  Linfield is hitting the road early in the season to Texas to play Hardin-Simmons.  So it's not unbelievable that Rowan could come up with the money to travel to Wisconcin to play either UW-Eau Claire, or UW-La Crosse on Sept. 9th.  Both Rowan and Linfield are in the same category of national powerhouses, and if Linfield can come up with the money to fly to Texas, why can't Rowan?

The Prof supporters, although not as numerous as the Wildcat supporters from the Northwest board, are just as passionate about our program, and getting the chance for our boys to play a full ten game season is as elusive for us as winning a national championship.

I do agree with RU Fan, that the Profs two bye weeks, back to back early in the season could end up hurting the Profs down the line.

However, if the Profs can come up with some playmakers at the WR position, I can't imagine anyone stopping them this year.

GO PROFS!

RU Fan,

Rather whitty today.  Now I can say I've been officially quoted by two individuals.  I guess there is a first time for everything!

If you keep it up, next you'll be quoting Greek philosohers! 8)  Onwards and upwards!

And as you say, "Go Profs"! ;)

Now, quoted by three individuals, and I graduated from GSC.  I knew that degree was worth something.  All of my English Lit. teachers should be proud!

A cunning linguist.... I must be!

Speaking of Greeks ... I spent last Friday playing golf, drinking beer, eating steak, drinking beer, smoking cigars, drinking beer, playing poker and drinking beer ... at the house of my financial advisor with several of our mutual friends and a couple more invitees whom I met for the first time. Two of them were former players from the 'boro (and brown & gold club members) – circa mid-'70's – and four of them were members of a 'boro frat which was chronicaled by a newspaper back in the day as the "real" animal house. After spending the day listening to them re-live the glory days, I'm surprised the college is still standing and Henry Rowan didn't commit his money to ETFs. If I didn't get comfirmation of some of the shennanigans from a couple of my buddies, I wouldn't have believed it.

Just before I entered Trenton State, protesters burnt down the Student Center. That was tame in comparison.

Fortunately, I don't think any of them were aware of this website. Otherwise I might have found myself at the bottom of the pool!

Partying at GSC was quite an experience. I was there when we made Playboy's top 10 party schools.  After I graduated GSC evolved into an actual college with a real library, edible food, higher academic standards, and real facilities.  Who woulda thunk it?

I wouldn't trade my experiences for anything... fun times....

I noticed that you are online.  Any new recruiting news regarding the Profs ... freshmen, transfers, etc. ???

JT

I haven't seen anything in the paper lately.  I'll try to do some digging the next few weeks.

4merprof

JT,

Come on bud... I thought that you had the "insider info".  We are dying out here in Prof land without any of your commentary.

RU Fan,

I guess that we will have to wait and see what this season brings.  I don't know why it is such a secret at this point, considering school is out until September as to what transfers we are going to get.  Mayber Acorsi likes to keep everything under wraps, but I am very anxious as well.

JT

Generally NJAC coaches are afraid of getting their pockets picked.  Sometimes the local papers write about recruiting and will include DIII info.  After Freshman enroll, more news becomes available.

4merprof

JT,

No pressure, but I was wondering if you were going to do another ten minute highlight film for the 2005 season.  I realize the amount of work that must go into that, but they have been great in years past, especially moving forward.

Thanks,

-4mer

JT

Yes... I'm planning to do a highlight this year.  Hope to have it done by August.
