Lindy's has Rowan ranked third in their pre-season poll.  What players return for th Prof's in 06?

4merprof

Ken,

The Profs definitely are loaded again this year.  Mike Orihel, the QB returns for his final year and is undoubtedly the best D3 QB in the country this year.  Our starting superback, Ulysses Encarnacion is back for his senior year and undoubtedly, has the best name in D3.  The bulk of the D is returning and should be the best D the Prof's have seen since the Keeler years with now, Defensive Coordinator Mark Hendricks.

Injuries hurt the Prof's in '05, who in my opinion would have finally got the monkey's off their back's with a National Championship.

If we can replace Phil Silva, who is now with the NY Jets, and Sakeen Wright at the WR positions, the Profs will definitely have a run at the title once again.

It should be a fun year and I, personally can't wait for the first game.

GOOD LUCK PROFS IN '06

Ditto, Ditto, Ditto and Ditto again.

Can't wait to see Orihel this year.  He's supposedly bigger, stronger and quicker.

From what I hear of Encarnacion, he's ready to go also.

How many more days until September 2nd? ;D

4mer..I just picked up a copy of Street & Smiths preview magazine..they have the Prof's rated number two ahead of Whitewater.  Did Orihel received a medical red-shirt?.  Thought he had used up his eligibility.

Pat Coleman

Orihel didn't need a medical redshirt.

JT,

You talk about the block schedule in 2006, and I have a question. I looked at MSU and Rowans schedules since 1999 and with the exception of Buff St and one game with W.Conn for MSU and Buff ST and B Port and one Cortland for Rowan. We seem to have been doing this for a while. Why was the MSU-Rowan game changed?

Everyone,

Since it is still early and quiet, lets make our predictions for the 2006 NJAC and some comments why. Any Takers?

I predict that NJCU will not lose a single football game this season.

The NJAC schedules have been similar for years.  The key now is that there won't be a non-conference game from October on.  It may have been only one game for each team but it is quite a shift conference wide.

In order for eight teams (incl Buff St)  to match up, games had to flip around.  So the MSU/Rowan season ender is gone for now.

Predictions  NJAC  2006

Rowan - 9-0 Cortland may give them a scare but fall short at the Borro.
Cortland - 9-1  and may go 8-2 with a loss in the Jug.
MSU -  8-2 A new QB and losses on D lose to Rowan, Cort and may go 7-3
with a loss to Springfield or  Salisbury.
W. Conn - 7-3 Losses MSU, Cort, Rowan and maybe 6-4 down to WP.
TCNJ - 6-4 Losses to Mule, MSU, Cort and Rowan.
WP - 5-5 Losses to Wilks, TCNJ, MSU, Cort, Rowan
Kean - 5-5 Losses to Cort, F&M, MSU Rowan, and Cortland.
Buff St.  - 4-6 Losses to Ithaca, Cortland, MSU, Rowan, TCNJ and Brock.

LETS  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rams,

I would have to agree with you prognastication skills.  8-2 for MSU might be a bit optimistic, however I wish those guys the best of luck.  The first few weeks of the season for them should tell the story.  If they can gel with a new leader on offense, they could have a shot at 8-2.

I agree with the other posters that Rowan not playing MSU the last game of the regular season sucks!  It has been that way for numerous years, and in years past the NJAC came down to that game.  Schools start to get a great rivalry and tradition, and the forces that be, have to go and mess that up.

On another note...  I can't wait for the season to start. GO PROFS!!!

4merprof,

I agree with you statement. If we can play hard for 60 minutes, stay smart, and some decent recruits 8-2 could happen, but at the same time it could be 7-3 or 6-4.

The recruiting at MU and Linfield is impressive, alond with other shools aroud the country. It's a shame there is such a hush around the NJAC.

NJAC recruiting is always hush-hush due to the fact the there are 5 schools all competing for primarily the same pool of recruits, and the fact that DIII has no letter of intent makes it hard for coaches to truly know what a kid is doing until they pay a dormitory deposit.  After talking with the North-South game coaches, I know that Kean University has 3 recruits playing in the game: Felciano - OL - Clifton, Marti - DL - Lodi, and Logan - DL - Absegami.

Cortland has a pretty good recruiting class picking up a couple of kids from Florida and a all state o linemen in NY. Combine that with 18 returning starters and you can see why Street and Smith has them as a team to watch and ranked 11th overall.

rams1102

fballking19,

Cortland appears to be a contender for the NJAC title. You guys are coached well and are always in the game. You play for 60 minutes. That is a problem with many of the NJAC teams. They seem to disappear for 10 to 15 minutes per game. Let's look at the last game of the year, MSU vs Rowan. It was a game for the first half and Rowan started to wake up twords the beginning of the second quarter. They were clearely the bretter team and the final score was reflective. I keep saying if the Red Hawks play for 60 minutes, smart and with heart, we have a chance. I hate it that the recruiting is a big secret, so I try to study the other guys. We have Iona, Springfield, and Salisbury and did some reading. They will be tough games and if we can be 3-0 we may be able to make a statement this year. You guys have 6 tough games too. Your odds will surely be better , but one never knows.

Does anybody have any info on the MSU Recruits ?????

Happy July 4th To All !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
