Profs were 2-12 on third downs and finished the game with 141 total yards of offense. Not exactly numbers indicative of a top ten program the last few weeks. Though the Profs have a stellar defense, the games against Montclair and Cortland won't be easy at all. This Rowan team doesn't have much of a margin for error. Five forced turnovers and the offense only puts one TD up on the board against the Lions (and that was only off an INT and a resulting 37 yard drive)? Not good. I honestly thought TCNJ would lose by 4 TDs.

To all Rowan fans,

Just got back from the game tonight.

The defense had 5 turnovers,at least 4 sacks, held the lions to under 100 yards of total offense, and should stay #1 in the country in total defense.  ENOUGH SAID ABOUT THE DEFENSE.

The offensive side of the ball was just OFFENSIVE  to even watch.  I think they tried to run a QB keeper 4 times in a row on the one yard line.  Not only could they not punch it in, you would think that after the third try they would try a different play.  There were at least 2 or 3 delay of games penalties.  How does that happen with a no-huddle offense and the QB staring at the game clock in the middle of the field.  Very Bad stuff.  This team could potentially go down as one of the biggest disappiontments as far as a team fulfilling its potential that Rowan has ever had.  I think the defense has more offense this year.  I almost felt like I was watching waterboy, if a team gets an early lead, they can just give the ball back to the Rowan offense.  They need to make the offensive coordinator walk the plank, but then again "all blame flows up" :-\

The only good news was that Rowan came away with the "W"  So for some of my politically correct counterparts in the Rowan alum, I'm sure they are feeling just peachy about the game.   ??? ??? ???

Heres to hoping next week is better.

It was the worst performance by a Rowan offense that I can remember.  I don't think they tried ther middle of the field in the passing game.  Against West Conn the Profs ran a nice flare pass to the backs and hit the TE.  This was absent last night.  They really need some confidence boosters.

A least the Profs were attempting the deep throws.  Perfect time to come back with some slants and crossing patterns, but that didn't happen.  When Migs [the most experienced guy]  is the only one catching chain moving passes, it might be time to worry.

That SB Impagliazzo might be a good short yardage guy, he runs hard.  I'd have give him a chance to get in from the one last night.  The QB sneak is probably used too much.

They've gotta be able to advantage of turnovers.

Now TCNJ has a good defense, best of the three DIII teams I've seen so far.  And it was TCNJ/Rowan, but I expected more from those short yardage scoring opportunities.

The Rowan D was outstanding.  They kept getting madder as the game went on and it showed in their play.  The Rowan O has too find a gameplan that works.... soon.

If TCNJ had a solid, ball control offense like some of their teams of yor, this would be a special team. A playoff team.

...of course if pigs had wings...

Rowan shouldn't have to try to run three straight QB sneaks from the one (to no avail). Whazzup with that? They'll have much to think about going into the Cortland and Montclair games. Rowan might get by Montclair as the Red Hawks offense isn't too much better than TCNJ's. Much of the 27 points scored in the game against the Lions were set up by the poor play of the TCNJ offense and special teams. Cortland on the other hand might now be the favorite to win the NJAC.

If I was an odds maker, I'd have Cortland a 3.5 point favorite at Rowan.

What would the spread actually be?

xdragon58

I cant agree with that rowan spread fully, while i am a former dragon, that is a tuff place to play, its a long miserable bus drive down to south jersey from upstate ny....but i do think cortland will pull out the win in a low scoring affair.....but lets take care of business first boys, we have kean today, then two tuff games vs west conn, and montclair wich is no cake walk..........cortland by 20+ today....that d is to much for kean
No matter where we go, it's about who we are.......C-STATE!!!!!!!!

The oline needs to come together and play better too.  We've already lost Ken Siano who got injured during the RMU game.
