Montclair - 22           Buffalo St. - 14

Nice win for the young Red Hawks. 393 total yards. Jump appears to have had a good game. No int's and 210 passing. McCoach had 178 running. This is starting to remind me of 2003 a little. We still have a lot of work ahead of us. A big game at Kean next week. This will be a test for both teams. We need to keep pushing the envelope. The D is awsome and maybe the O is starting to get a little better. Lot's of hard work and lets get ready for a big one against Kean. One game at a time.

LET'S  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Pat Coleman will you be going to the Westconn Cortland game this weekend.
Your just 45 min away down route 7.  It should be a good game.

Pat Coleman

I would say there's a 90% chance I'll be at that game, yes.

My other choice is Brockport at Springfield.

Just one word can describe what I listened to on Friday night.  DISGUSTING!!!

I am so glad I didn't waste my time by making the hour drive down south.  The pumpkin party with my daughter proved to be more exciting offensively.  At least my daughter covered more ground offensively when she was picking out her pumpkin.

Now I wasn't at the game, but from what I heard from listening to the game is that offensively we stink!!!  Sorry Prof fans, it has to be said.  To score on TD offensively verse TCNJ???  Are you serious...  The play calling is absolutely predictable and terrible.  Let me see if I can help out Buff State scouting.  First down, Inside handoff (lose one yard), Second down, Inside handoff (lose another yard) 3rd and 12 (throw a two yard pass) 4th down punt.  Who calls these plays???  It is mind boggling, that with the QB we have that we can't score.  After reading the online newspapers and JT's some up on his website, Acorsi keeps saying that the offense will come together.  Hey coach, if it hasn't come together yet... IT'S NOT GOING TO!!!

Dreadful, absolutley dreadful.  Here is a prediction, we'll win this week at Buff State, split the games between Montclair and Cortland and lose to Kean.  Our defense can't keep us in every game.  Bottom line is, we just can't score points.  I agree with RowanLB, this team will go down as the most disappointing in Prof history, unless the play calling gets any better.

Another thing with Orihel trying to sneak it in three times in a row from the two.  There are two ways to look at this.  First, how can an offensive line, with any fortitude or pride not be able to push back TCNJ to get 3 feet on 3 consecutive plays???  Second way to look at this... why not roll our QB out and have him throw a short pass to a crossing WR, and if it's not there, have him run it in.

The peewee football team my daughter cheers for does this, and those kids are 12???  Maybe I can see if their coach can come up and teach the "beast of the east" how to score.  PREDICTABLE, PREDICTABLE, PREDICTABLE!!!

I actually have the opportunity to be in upstate NY this weekend because of work, and I typically would stay over an extra night to see the Profs, but I don't think the free continental breakfast and $80 is worth the frustration.

To close on a positive note.  This is the best "D" I've seen from the Profs since the late 90's... and they say Defense wins championships, however when our defense plays a GREAT team tough and only lets up 17 or 21, we will lose.

This years offense is just terrible and the numbers show it.  Well not even really, because the majority of our points, this year, have come from special teams, or the defense.  Last year at this point our offense threw for almost 1300 yards, this year to this point, bearly 400yards.  That's the no huddle, fun and gun, run and shoot in full swing.  If Acorsi wants to run the ball this year, he needs to throw the ball to open it up.  He can't run on first and second down every series.

Well, I've wasted enough time disgusted this morning.  However, mark my words.  If the offense doesn't shape up, this season is over in October!

JAY

4mer prof,

I can feel your pain. However, who will the OC blame this this year the Wr coach, The OL coach. Will he just say he can't trust anyone! Look to the past and see the future. Your seeing the real OC at RU. Everyone knows what I am talking about. Watch your back!

This team should be averaging 400 yards a game easily. Bring back

4merprof

Jay,

No need to watch my back, I doubt the OC or Acorsi could throw any thing at me, as they definitely are having problems throwing passes this year, so I'm not that worried about a punch.  I would be more than willing to have them attempt to kick my 50 year old @ss, as at least they'd be throwing something.  Another thing I am sitting here steaming about is the rankings.  This Prof team does not deserve to be ranked in the top 25, and I feel terrible saying that.  As a Prof fan, for over thirty years, and following the team from the Pre-KC tenure, it is just difficult to articulate the frustration.  It seems every year in the off season, you sit back and reflect about what went wrong the prior year, and if we got this call, if the ball would have bounced this way, if this person didn't get hurt, etc, we would have won the big one.  This year isn't even half way over, and we are already doing that, and it's not just me.  If you sit in the stands as a fly on the wall and listen to the general disgust it's amazing, and I've been sitting in those stands for thirty years.  We have the "D" to make a run this year, but no "O".  I have been through the ups and downs of this program over the years, even though there haven't been that many downs, but as a fan of this program, mediocrity is not acceptable.  That is why we
have the amount of fans in the stands, and the amount of Prof supporters on this board.  To be a top tier, elite program, you have to be able to be productive with what you have.  This year we don't have the Scott Lipford's, Phil Silva's, etc., however I can think back ten years or so, and we got it done without big name receivers.  Predictablity is not a good trait to have offensively, unless you predictably to put 40 points per game.  This year especially since the D has put us in the position to score, and the O just couldn't get it done.

But this is like beating a dead horse.  I've said my part, but it is just a shame the way this program is heading offensively.  Hendricks has done a fantasic job on that side of the ball, and say what you want about KC, and I'm always one to get in a dig here and there, but I've never seen a KC offense put up these sort of numbers verse anyone.  He just absolutely wouldn't accept it.  We need to find who can make plays, and let them make the plays, bottom line.

I know who the OC is and I have no idea what you mean.  Bring back.... bring back who?

Dr. xGSC

Bring on the negativism! What a shame this RU O is this year. The Salmon I hooked on Friday had more yardage than the RU O against TCNJ. Regardless, I hope they can gather some offensive momentum before it is too late.

This RU D has to be considered one of the best, if not the best Ds in GSC/RU history. The RU OC needs to turn a few pages in the playbook and get the machine rolling as it is now moving at the speed of a turtle oops, snail.

Come on Coach Accorsi, get the ship headed in the right direction.
Coach Hendricks: Awesome, simply Awesome!
LONG LIVE THE BORO!

If you do ANYTHING, give it your EVERYTHING!

4merprof

Dr. GSC,

I have to agree with most of your post, however this ship is like the titantic, we're taking on water, and it doesn't look good.  If we haven't been able to make the adjustments in 4 games with two bye weeks, what makes you think we can do it now???  I know personally speaking, if I didn;t do my job at work for half a year/season, I would be having major problems.  These coaches, that's their job, that's what they get paid for, that's what pays their mortgage.  They have to do their job!

JAY

Bring back that swagger that's who.  Coach Acorsi better stop stroking TD's (OC) butt. Tell TD toGet the job done. Coach Acorsi has always protected TD. How many outrages has had this year on the sideline or is back up in the box. Maybe instead of no-huddling,  Rowan should go back into the huddle. Melt the clock a little. Time management. Maybe TD should
call someone or (Coach Acorsi)who really undestands the No-huddle and call the person who gave TD the info on the offense when he first implemented it.  Average talent at WR's makes it easier to load up in the box.

The talent is their it's  just different from the past.

Ok.... at least I understand where you are coming from.  And you are right in that opponents are less afraid of the Prof offense (swagger) then in the past.  They have to be less predictable and execute better or differently than what they have been doing.

Where do I start?

The TCNJ game was a disgrace.  RU made the TCNJ defense look like the  Minnesota Vikings of old.  Give me a break!

The O line looks totally confused and just aren't getting the job done.  The QB either got smacked, had people in his face or was hurried all night.  The "we have to establish a running game" mantra has to go.  Its time to establish a passing game which will open up the running game.  Look back over the last 5 or 6 years and see where most of the TDs came from ... let me help you here ..... from the passing game!

The play calling stinks ... let me say it again in case you didn't hear me.  The play calling stinks!  Predictable, repetitive and wrong play at wrong time.  3 QB sneaks from the 1 yd. line and no TD.  What's that tell you?  How about rolling the QB out with the pass/run option after your 1st two QB sneaks didn't work?  How about fake to the FB and a naked QB roll out?  How about a quick slant to the TE?  How about anything different?  How bad is the RU O line if they can't move the TCNJ D line 1 yard in 3 tries?  WOW!

The WRs and SBs also have to step up ... or its going to be a 9 game season!

If the O linemen, SBs and WRs don't step up ... there are other guys on the bench.  The guys on the bench are too junior, too young, too inexperienced .... what's the difference?  They really couldn't do a whole lot worse than the guys who were out there last Friday night!

Last question is .... what are we doing in practice?  Where are the adjustments to correct what's wrong?  Nothing is different and we don't look any better than we did on Day 1.  The kids have to be prepared and put in a position to win.  That's the coaches job!

Any comments on the Montclair - Kean game. You know there are (7) other teams in the NJAC. The Montclair D has been pretty good this year and will get a real test when they visit Kean this Sat. We need the D to come up real big, but most important of all is that the O keeps up it's improvement. We can't look forward until we take care of business on Sat. Shades of 2003, can it be ?  ;)

LET'S  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!
