JT,

As a former athlete (many many moons ago) and now just a fan, they know about this board and d3.com. The MSU fans seem not to participate, and the rest of the NJAC seem to have the same view with the exception of you Rowan fans. Mind you, there are only a handfull of you guys, but you all appear to care about the Rowan football program. Congrat's  ;)
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

JT

I know there are a bunch fans that read this stuff, but don't login and post. I see them and talk to them every time I go to a game.

The NJAC is one of the strangest boards on PP.  Seems like every asshole with an opinion signs up and posts on the other boards, but NJAC'ers are too busy to bother.

Frankly, I'm getting a heckuva kick reading some of the posts from our Rowan friends bemoaning their current state of affairs.
QuoteThe QB either got smacked, had people in his face or was hurried all night ... Its time to establish a passing game which will open up the running game.

Ummm, not meaning to incur the wrath of our #1 Prof fan here, but if the "O" line isn't giving the All-American quarterback time – and the receivers aren't getting separation because Rowan doesn't have major threats/speed/experience at the wideout position – then I think all the imaginative play calling in the world isn't going to re-establish the passing game at this point.

Given the struggling offense and the strong defense perhaps Rowan should think about scrapping the no-huddle to use more clock and take a shot at trying to establish more of a ball control offense. Seems to me your best weapon is your defense. There's no reason to keep them on the field as often as you do when the no-huddle offense isn't working. Then again, you can't exactly scrap a system mid-season. Perhaps someone should have seen this coming back in the summer – and made appropriate adjustments.

Finally, I don't think we need say that Rowan made TCNJ's defense look like vintage Vikings. TCNJ has a solid defense (which I pointed out several weeks ago), that tends to be on the field constantly because of a sputtering offense and weak special teams (as in they give up about one TD/game). So rather than characterize a game which DIII athletes play as a "disgrace", I'd say that both schools exhibited strong defenses while the respective offenses continued to struggle. So I'm a bit PC – but this isn't exactly the Miami Hurricane chat room.

Best of luck to Rowan (or Montclair for that matter) the rest of the way – as I'd still like a Jersey team to win the NJAC.

As I've said to you many times  ..... I couldn't care less what you think ...that is when you do think!

It's amusing how, when it suits your purpose, you turn into Mister Nice Guy and butter wouldn't melt in your mouth .... and the natural extension of that is that everyone else is just nasty and doesn't understand DIII football.  Anyone know what vacillate means?

By the way, when you say "best of luck to Rowan" etc. ......  does that stick in your throat a bit?

Let's see if I can save both of us some typing time.  Let's just pretend that you responded with something witty and our discussion can be over! ;)

LET'S  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought the TCNJ D was pretty good, better than CNU or West Conn.

I appreciate the passion of 4mer and RUFan, both whom I've never met.  Its great to see Prof fans that are never wrong and don't take any crap. Hell these guys are diplomats compared to the NWC, ODAC, and OAC.  Never thought I'd see the day people would complain about Rowan not winning the right way.

Rest assured, the players read PP and if they need extra motivation, it's here in the last postings.

xdragon58

now now now, let s not forget about the 6-0 Cortland Red Dragons.......these next few weeks will tell us who will win the njac, with cstate taking on west conn, montclair and rowan, that is one hell of a tuff run, but one that i think we can go 3-0 on........any body going to be at that cortland westconn game this weekend, let me know.....maybe we can meet up for a little tail gate action
No matter where we go, it's about who we are.......C-STATE!!!!!!!!

Dave,
I believe you have a decent chance. It's a three horse race – with Kean having the ability to play the role of spoiler. I never thought the Cougars would be playing teams this tough after the nonsense that went on with their head coach last summer.

JT,
I thought the TCNJ D was pretty good this year too. The Lions seem to have many of the same problems as the Profs – only taken up a few notches.

RU,
...clenching your teeth yet? Since my best friend, financial advisor and God-Father to my youngest all went to Rowan, I'd say it's within my right to wish them luck. if you don't like it when I offer a personal opinion I'd suggest you avert your glance from your Atari – or wait for another Rowan poster to tell you what you want to hear. If you don't care what I think perhaps you shouldn't waste your time responding at all.

Personally, I get a kick out of reading your posts – especially your "Where do I start" post from this afternoon. Priceless!  ;D

rowanlb92

All of a sudden, I no longer feel alone.  I thought that I was going to get hog tied for my harsh criticism of this years Rowan football team, like I have been in past years.  I guess that this years team is really pushing all of fans to our limits with what some of us can hold inside.  I heard some very valid points in some of the preceeding posts.  The most obvious one was, Why do we still have a no huddle offense.  The only thing it does is gives the defense about 1:27 of rest on the sidelines between series.  Wake up coaches.  I say Hendricks for head coach.  I don't think that he would sit back and watch as his team falters offensively.

Someone at Rowan needs to print all of these posts, and hand them out to the players, so they can see how passionate thier fans are about the program.  That should fire them up a little, the coaches certainly aren't!!!

Is there any inside news on how the senior leadership is reacting to the present state of affairs?

rowanlb92

Pat,

Talk about what sells print.  If this wouldn't make a popular read on d3football.com, I don't know what would.

RowanLB and Jay,

I have to agree with both of you.  The play calling from TD is absolutely terrible.  Regardless if we have the horses at WR this year or not.  Someone has to right the ship.  I really don't care about the RMU game, but with different play calling and making adjustments, we should have gained more than -18 yards in total offense.

To this point, the offense hasn't burned us in respect to the win/loss aspect.  However, it is only a matter of time.  Another thing that completely astonishes me is the fact on 3rd and 15, we throw a two yard pass???  Does this confuse anyone else???

I know that we can't blow up TD mid-year, but can we atleast shake him or something???  His job, his duty is to provide the Profs with an offense that can score points, regardless of the athletes we have.  TD's play calling or lack there of is going to kill this Prof team, and it's ashame because of the "D" that Hendricks has put together.  For the mantra of this team to be know as the year that we couldn't score for future generations is absolutely terrible for these kids.

Wake up!!! Make changes!!!  Score Points!!! Don't run on 1st and 2nd down every series!!!  Put your team in the position to make plays!!!  Also, when we put the slot player in motion, we run the sweep, then the next play we do the same thing with an inside handoff???  I'm not a professional scout and everyone in the stands, and the opposing bench knows what play is coming at them.

We are far enough along in the season to know that the problem is not going to correct itself.  The one way to assure that we can make an improvement, is not to keep doing the same things that have thus far that has made us unsuccessful, and that is exactly what we have done all year.

count me in as one guy who loves the Rowan "O" right now

Yes, but you really hate the RU D. Beware of cornered dogs!
LONG LIVE THE BORO!

Phil,
Thanks for getting back to me! ;)  It means a lot to me!

The most amazing revelation, that absolutely blew my size 12 socks off, was the fact that you do, supposedly, have a "best friend"!  Amazing! ;D

Not sure what your last post actually means but recent posters haven't been complaining because RU isn't winning in the right way ... I think what they're saying is that RU is winning in the wrong way ... or better said, they are pleas for changes or adjustments so RU doesn't have to unnecessarily lose a game whether its, in your words, the right way or, worse yet, the wrong way.

What I mean is that Mount Union and other successful teams have fans that post about the team barely winning and being in trouble, gotta fix this, play calling etc etc. Have had these posters for years.

It is a measure of Rowan's success to have fans that complain.  For years, it was just me and an occassional Rowan poster.  Now with lb92, 4mer, and you I don't surf the other rooms as much.  Although I wish the other NJAC teams had more regular posters that supported their clubs.
