Cortland now has a 2 game season, and must go 2-0...a win vs rowan gives us the njac all alone for the first time, and a win the next week, is a huge win...not only b/c its IC but it will be 10-0 for the season....but right now we need to go 1-0 and it looks like it can be done, rowan was flirting with the big L all season, and this time it caught them, i hope things are so shaken up in glassboro that they dont show up to play...to all my cortland people on here, we shall meet in rowan
No matter where we go, it's about who we are.......C-STATE!!!!!!!!

4 sacks, 2 INTs, a blocked punt for a TD and under 200 total yards against an average  TCNJ team would lead me to believe there should be a bit of concern up at Cortland – especially since you have to play at Glassboro following a Rowan loss.

Dave
Congrats to Montclair – and till we tailgate again!

Should this year's Prof team be using the spread offense in your opinion?

maxpower

I voted for Rowan.

PS- If Cortland puts a 1st half up like they did SatErday, they can kiss the Jug goodbye.

Phil, they had a bad game in a bad weather....it happens, they came out of it with a win, maybe u forget about the week before....5 picks 7 sacks at Montclair.....steam rolling the red hawks in their own house, which came a week after they went to west conn and crushed them.....bad games happen....be ready, cause the dragons are comming and they are spitting fire
No matter where we go, it's about who we are.......C-STATE!!!!!!!!

Fortunately there's never bad weather come playoff time. :)

Wow, you spend the weekend at the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party and miss yet another memorable moment courtesy of Rowan's most annoying fan.  You guys have already drug him through the mud for whining so I won't reiterate.  Just thought I would clip out my favorite part of the post:

I need a ****ing drink.... OUT!

My suggestions on what you could replace the drink with:

1) life

2) sense of humor

3) sense of impartiality

4) lesson on how to admit my team got beat

5) new pair of Rown boxers

I won't debate people when I'm right.

I stopped reading your post after that. For me, the only time I debate is when I'm right (or think so). You know, because I have proof and evidence and things? Seems to me like the webmaster of rowanfootballgivesmewood.com should have a better handle on resonable interaction than cryin' about referees. IC got screwed time and again by the refs yesterday, but got it done against the #1 team in the region. Stop being jealous because Rowan isn't featured on Around the East every week any more; that was sweet justice when y'all were bitching about that earlier this month. When IC wins the jug, you all can come over to the E8 board to talk about playoff teams if you want.

PS- bye bye karma, we've had some laughs....

One cannot debate someone who cannot see the other side.  I learned that after the Bridgewater clock debacle in 2001.

I thought Montclair played very well.  They hit the big plays and converted at the end.  I can acknowledge that.  Rowan couldn't seem to deliver the knockout blow.  They never put consective scores together back-to-back.  MSU stayed close and with Rowan passing with 3:30 left up 20-17 instead of running led to the OT.  With our kicking problems and with MSU having one of the best kickers in D3, I knew the Profs were in trouble in the OT.

Oh and I have done nothing but support budcrew and his ATR.  I know how hard it is to try to write (for free) and make everyone in the East happy.

rowanlb92,

I know who you are talking about. I really liked the dad (only from posts). Was it that the dad said too much about the team or was there a problem with the player? I would really like to hear from the dad, I miss his posts. Another Rowan compliment. I have to stop. ;D

Word on the street was that the player did not rehab properly and didn't participate in team activities when injured.  For example, when LB Todd Trout had a season ending knee injury in 2004.  He helped coach the defense.  This year Encarnacion helps coach the offense.  I think that kinda thing pays dividends with Accorsi.

Also, remember that the Dad was PO's that his kid (a Senior) suffered a season ending injury in a JV.  The Dad was upset that he was playing in a JV game.  I feel bad for the Dad, since he's a former Glassboro/grad football player.  I remarked at the time that the Dad must feel like a man w/o a country.

Hawkdad,

From past experience, most programs forbid thier players from exchanging banter on this site.  The main reason is it usually causes an unneccesary distraction to the team.   Since you are the parent of a player you are close to the action and if it becomes known who you are the parent of there could be some collateral fall-out  that your son will unfairly have to deal with.   You might want to change your handle and post as supporter of the Montclair program.  Just some friendly advice.  Take it how you want.

I would like to here other thoughts on this subject. (if thier are any)

Thats about the biggest line of BS ive heard in a while....

So your telling me that the Son is going to be responsible for his Father's actions?....

No, I'm saying the parent could add unneccesary distractions by inserting a foot in the perverbial mouth.  I believe it has happened!

I believe your just looking for something, when nothing is really there....

Enjoy the ECAC's....

Rowan doesn't participate in the ECAC's in football.  NCAA's or bust.

I'm not sure.  The main problem is that the offense is over simplified due to the inexperience of the Wr's and some of the OL.  It certainly gives the opposing defense an advantage if they can guess what's coming a good percentage of the time.

Then again look at what the Profs lined up with since 2001.  Wr Scott Lipford and Al Beverly both ran about a 4.3.  Lipford was signed by the 49'ers.  Then comes Wr Jon Berry, an injury plagued career prevented him from being even better.  Phil Silva (might go to NFL Europe), Michael Osborne (AFL) , Sakeen Wright (AFL).

Did it matter if the defense knew what was coming if they couldn't stop it anyway?

Used to be somebody was always open.  Now either the secondary routes aren't open or Orihel doesn't have the time.  Also receivers are making wrong reads.  One receiver ran an deep in pattern on Saturday, and it supposed to be an out and up.  The receiver stopped running and Orihel threw what might have been a TD pass over the receiver's head.

Right now Rowan isn't built for I-formation football.  We've got some big, fast and talented Wr's, but they are freshman and sophomores.  The inexperience is obvious.  On one play Saturday, there was a deep ball completed and on the way down a smaller but more experienced MSU db ripped it out of the Wr's hands for an interception.

The maturation process of the offense has gone slower than most people anticipated.  I cannot remember the last time Rowan was the underdog in an NJAC contest, but they are this Saturday.

Another blow is struck for the maturity of the Profs. "If we don't get picked first, we are taking our ball and going home!"

Don't know when they started doing that.  Sometime in the early 90's.  They don't apply for the ECAC's.

phil

TCNJ doesn't apply for the ECACs in any sport – football being the exception.

cstate19

ehhhhh be careful max..........i dont think IC looks at the ECAC's with great pride.......i dont think they compete in the ECAC's either.........could be wrong though

I know its an excuse, but the bottom line is they did what great teams do, they found a way to win the game.....its not easy to do what they are doing, and we will see what they are really made out of this weekend at Rowan......but they have one bad game, and its like people forget what they did the two games before....like it said, it all comes down to this weekend
No matter where we go, it's about who we are.......C-STATE!!!!!!!!
