who is crying? you guys are something else
I already said I'm cool with the Cortland posters.  I expect a little emotion and searching for reasons when a team loses.  I can cut a guy some slack.  We wouldn't be fans... if we never blamed refs or did woulda, coulda, shoulda.  That was Prof fans last week, me in particular.

I still don't like most of them. I'd like to see Cortland beat Ithaca and show how tough the NJAC really is.

I will, as well, be rooting for the red dragons.  I'd like to see them in the playoffs.

Congrats to Rowan for their victory yesterday.  It was a great game and both teams should be proud of their efforts.  The Rowan fans really came alive in OT and I think it energized the Profs Defense.  Hopefully both teams get in and we can do it again in what surely will be another classic duel.

Does any Cortland fan really think they will beat IC next week and make the playoffs?

Doubt it!

CK

Yes, I do and I also would say about 7,000 Cortland fans will think Cortland will win on Saturday too.

playoffs here come

Worst.Playoff.Team.Ever.

I hate to come to the defense of our conference rivals but I respect Rowan alot and I think to say they are the worst playoff team ever is a ridiculous statement.  They have lost 1 D3 game in OT and just because they don't score alot of points does not mean they can't go out and win in the playoffs.  They have a hard hitting defense that will keep them in alot of games.

First of all, Morrisville makes more sense to play than Rowan does........
....... Why don't you try to play Brockport's schedule?  I'd think you'd have a worse record...more than the two losses you already have...

portgrad2004

This is the first thing that you've posted that makes any sense  ..... "playing Morrisville makes more sense than playing Rowan - duhhhhhhhhhhhhh - you think?

I also agree that RU would have more than 2 losses playing Brockport's schedule ..... that is, if we played it the same way that Brockport does  ;)

Its Cortaca time, and if you want to see how wild the bantering can get, check out the Cortaca Board.

Good luck to Rowan, you guys laid the wood all game!

Just let it go...You would have more than 2 losses playing the way you have been too...which hasn't been too well.

They aren't the worst playoff team ever? You happy now?  Curry probably has that distinction.  Anyway it isn't even true yet...  Rowan hasn't clinched anything yet.  Good luck the rest of the season.  I'm done dealing with you Rowan people.

The "muff punt" was a great no call. He never touched it.  I was standing right there on the sidelines.

I was on the Cortland side at the time, and not rooting for either team, and I thought it went right through his bread basket without him touching it.

I completely agree with JT, FWIW.

'06 Profs... WAY TO STEP UP...

Bottom line is, good teams find a way to win.  Cortland was giving RU way too many chances to win in the second half.  I couldn't belive it took us that long to score.  However, going into OT, I knew the game was ours.

I still think that the play calling is suspect at best for RU.  Besides the play action call in OT, I thought that the play calling was horrendous.  Why are we trying to throw the ball 50 yards down field to young WR's that aren't ready yet in their careers to make big plays?  Why are we having our QB stay in the pocket and not roll out and get him sacked?  If we have any shot at winning the east, we need to roll out Orihel, get him on the corner to by him some time and hit the short crossing patterns.  Our WR's are too young, and out O line is also too young to have our QB sit back there and wait for something to open up.  The running game looks like in has disappeared in the last two games.  I know that we have faced some pretty good "D's", but we need to be running the ball a little better as well.  Still predictable.  I couldn't believe that we won the coin toss and took the ball, that's a first for this season I believe, and it shows pride in your "O".

We need to start converting some 3rd downs more often.  We go three and out way too much, We consistently run on 1st and 2nd down and are put into 3rd and long all season long.  The defense is the core of this years team and we need to keep them off the field longer and play the field position game.  Cortland totally had the better field position for 4 quarters on Saturday.

Defense this week looked strong again.  Besides that first series, the "D" was bend but don't break, and I'll take that any day of the week.  The Cortland punter was awesome, probably one of the best D3 punters I've ever seen.  Cortland is a great team that has fallen on bad luck.  We Prof fans know what it is like to be without your starting QB, especially come playoff time.  I wish all three QB's the best, for a healthy and speedy recovery.  I don't care if it's my worst football enemy, I hate to see D3 kids get hurt.

I was wishing though after the game that I had a permanent marker to go over to the Cortland stands and correct their fans posters that were flying all game that said C-State 8-0.  8-0, opps I meant 8-1.

For this coming week, also a short week of practice for the Profs, if we can put together an offensive strategy to get our QB rolling out and throwing the short pass, work on special teams a bit and just solidify our "D", we'll go deep into the playoffs.  I heard in the stands that Zach Garren is out for the rest of the year, which is a HUGE blow to the "D".  The kid is just nasty and a stud, so I also wish him a speedy recovery.

Profs roll this week verse Willy P.  I would love to see the offense click and get ready for the playoffs and get up big in the first half, then let the underclassmen get some playing time, because you never know what can happen when making a run for the Walnut and Bronze.

Good luck to all of the NJAC teams for this upcoming week, for finishing out the regular season healthy and prosperous (except WPU), they just get the healthy part.

+K to all the Cortland faithful.

I apologize for lumping most of you in with the Ithaca Morons.

Good luck this week in getting the jug and getting a Pool C bid.
