Congratulations to the NJAC on the addition of Brockport and Morrisville to the NJAC.

I presume that the conference will grandfather the "Cortaca Jug" game for Cortland State the last weekend, and make an exception to the block scheduling.

I know that Brockport and Cortland have been playing each other in the first week the last several seasons, maybe they will continue that and leave Brockport with an open at the end of the season.... of course that would proably leave the port scrambling for someone at the end of the year.

Anyway, no matter what happens I also presume that this exception would occur

Welcome to the NJAC for 2008 !!! Should be some fun football. Any ideas how you guys will be this year?

I have a little of the football itch. I have tried to find out who everyone is playing this year in the NJAC out of conference. The only teams that have posted a scheduel are Montclair and W.Conn. I know it's hard for many NJAC teams to get someone to play them. We have (2) Top 25 teams in our first (3) games. Wilkes, Springfield and then Salisbury who is very tough. Hopefully we will be well tested for the start of the NJAC season. An other comments?

I'm pretty sure that FDU is playing TCNJ again this year, if that helps your puzzle solving at all!

Dave,

Rowan's out of conference - Christopher Newport, Widener, Wilkes

Bill,

Thanks, I know they played last year, and figured it would come around this year.

JT,

Happy Easter to you and your family. I knew you guys had CNU and Wilkes. You guys spoke of Widner and nice to see it happen. I quess it's on Sept 8th. All I can find is that Cortland has Morrisville, Kean has Albright, W.conn has St Peters, Morrisville & Iona, and Buff St. has Morrisville.  Not a bad night, Rangers appear to be in the play-offs, and the Yankees down 6-4 and hopefully can come back, bullpen willing.

Gro's post on the LLP and your response was right on the money. What a BS politically correct society we live in.

The Rangers finailly did it !!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, what a trivia question!

Who is the best football player to come out of the NJAC in this decade?

As I contemplate the ultimate answer, I remember a boyhood idol of mine who was all-Skyline Conference and made the Super Bowl and Pro Bowl.

Old-time Bosox fans will remember his brother.

Enjoy! ;) ;D :D

And congratulations to Ramapo's Todd Lowber.

Ralph,

You may also want to contemplate Sam Mills from Montclair State as a ultimate answer and also from the NJAC. ;)

There is no question that Sam Mills is the best player from the 1980's. :)

The Montclair State Administration would show a lot of class if they re-named the Football Field "Sam Mills Field" I think I'm asking too much. :(

Kean plays Albright non-conference.

Hey JT -

What are your thoughts on the following:

Others who are listed by at least two draft sources are (edited by TGP)

-Keith Heimerl (Rowan DE)

Heimerl is rated No. 46 for defensive ends by the same source.

4 year starter... had or developed into D1-D1AA talent.  Very long and lean for his size. (nicknamed Stork by teammates)  Extremely quick. Can either bulk up for DE or add a little speed for OLB.  Has an extra gear when needed (when the Profs needed a great play, he usually came through).  Dominent player. If he wasn't making the play, he was often chasing QB's and RB's into other Rowan defenders.

The best thing for Heimerl would be to have a good camp and get a shot at NFL Europe.  He needs the opportunity to play against top competition on a regular basis.  I think he can get faster.  His NFL day shows a 4.7 40.  With training he should be able to run a sub 4.6.

He really impressed Larry Kehres in 2005 at the semi's.  A bit of a project for the NFL if a team wants to invest the time, but I think he can make a roster/practice squad.

Congrats to Sakeen Wright AFL's Ironman of the Week:

3 catches and 1 TD, 7 tackles and one forced fumble. He also had a pick for a TD called back due to a penalty on a teammate.

Any chance he goes further, or will the AFL be as far as he goes?
