And as for the punter, why do you transfer from a D2 school to a D3 for only one year to kick?  I saw one nice punt, the others he hit for 30 with a 10-yard roll, because there was no return man.

Why not? If you want to play four years of football and you think that can't happen at your other school, why not transfer? You don't have to sit out a year to come to D-III from D-II.

I was unable to make it up there sunday, due to previous plans and not finding out about it until Satuday afternoon. How did the backup FB's and RB's look.?  Are they passing the ball more and how did the O-line hold up ?  How was the defensice secondary, who replaced simmons. ?

thanks

There were circumatances that prohibited him from playing last year. He was ready to play, but could not. I'll take it as a positive for 2007.

Players usually transfer for lack of playing time. Lajterman played as a freshman at Bryant in 03,04, and 05. He was a 2-time all conference punter. He was in MSU camp last year, see D3 preview 2006. This is his last year unless a medical redshirt happens soon. In the controlled scrimmage Sunday, kickers and QB's wore yellow, "I can't be hit" jerseys. There were no punt returners. The point was missed, in a real game , the returner catches or muffs the 30 yard punt, there would be no roll. There was one nice punt out of five. I am an MSU fan. I am expecting a big year from the team and the punter.

RB's:  McCoach was held out, Bliss and a couple freshman looked good.

I'm looking for a big year too !!! I thought the running backs looked good in a scrimage and Jump did not play a lot, one tough kid. I'm pulling for him this year. Let's see what happens with Lackawana this Saturday. One day at a time.

What time does the scrimmage start on Saturday ?

catchball,

I'm guessing 12:00 or 1:00. Big Al C. said see you at the Lakawana scrimage on Saturday when he drove by me walking back to the train lot. Maybe MSUBIRDGANG can chime in.

If those are some new Rowan uniforms shown in the Around the Nation column I would like to congratulate whoever came up with the subtleties. They are probably previously used because there is another team in the photo. Still...  8)
