Rams,
Unless something way out the ordinary happens tomorrow, I'll probably lead my ATR column with the TCNJ upset.

Rams,
I wouldn't say "kings" of the NJAC yet. While TCNJ might very well have the best defense in the conference (Rowan 173 total yards tonight), they struggle on offense and have very little margin for error. While beating Montclair and Rowan in the same season is nice (can't remember the last time they did that in a season — certainly not this century), there are no gimmies in the NJAC for an offense that struggles to score points. Barring turnovers the defense should keep the Lions in every game. It will be fun to "see" how things play themselves out in the conference the rest of the way.

Tonight it's good to be a TCNJ fan in Texas. Thank you WGLS, Rowan. When the heck is WTSR, Trenton going to get with the program?

I wouldn't either, but it seemed correct atthe time. ;) Your post makes sense. We have a big one vs Buff St. It's time to step up.

dewcrew88,

That makes sense. Other big games IMHO:

Montclait - Buff St. (Buff are no sisters of thre blind, wery improved)
Cortland - Kean (Time to see who is real. I'll go with Cortland)
Fisher - B-Bort (B-Port has the talent to play an A game, & can the Fish rebound)

It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Well I certainly saw two of the top ranked defenses in the country last night.  Both offenses held to under 200 yards.  Except for the Rowan touchdown, the Profs would shoot themselves in the foot in the red-zone with penalties (missed scoring opportunties).  Profs also had trouble picking up blitzes in the second half and offensively were predictable.

Hagerty threw a ball that sailed a bit over the middle on the inteception.  Probably should have kept the ball on the ground or safe out route and punted TCNJ deep.  At that stage of the game, Rowan probably winds up winning 7-0.

It was a hard fought game with hard hitting of both sides.  Best thing TCNJ did was punting/kicking away from Bellamy/Mears.  Struble was kicking knuckle balls and grounders. It kept the game close.  Rowan has very good special teams.

TCNJ DE King should be an AA candidate.  He was dominant.

Hagerty has a DI arm.  Can throw anything.  Put the ball in spots etc.  Tries things that used to work in HS.  Needs to acclimate to speed of college defenders.  When he had time, he was completing some nice routes.

Congrats to TCNJ.  Both teams are top 25 IMHO. Rowan needs to regroup and hope for losses in the NJAC and in other regions.

JT, could it be assumed that the NJAC is becoming the new version of the Centenial Conference?  Great D's but horrible offenses?

Actually I would've pegged the MAC for that honor.  But then Del Val, Albright and Wilkes combined for 136 points so scratch that.

phil

Ask Widener if they thought Rowan's offense was horrible.

I saw Rowans offense last year in the playoffs, and from what i've heard its not as good this year as it was last year.....

Well, we took care of business at Sam Mills Field, but we still have a lot of work to do. Two roughing the passer penalities resulted in Buff St. points. They are a tough team. The "O" has to get it together better. The first 3 games out of the blocks looked different then today (I missed the TCNJ game). If we are to have this magical season the "O" has to get more consistant. I know Coach G. will get -r-done !!!

An interesting day in the Top 25. Please keep in mind that these are only my thoughts as an amature, but a fan. Hardin Simmons and John Carrol are out and maybe Redlands(I'll be asleep by then). Rowan will be #25. RPI should get in and maybe TCNJ(after knocking off Montclair and Rowan). Montclair moves up to #20. Alfred should also move up. It will be interesting to see the polls when I get back from the Yankee game. Let's Go Rocket !!!

I'll be in WVa. this weekend for a college Homecoming, Soccer Banquet and dedication of the new Athletic Facility. Take no prisioners with Kean, this will be a big one next weekend. 5-1 is a must. 110% for 60 minutes!!!

LET'S  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome game today!!!!

Buff state Wasn't bad, hmm those two roughing the passers were questionable....the refs were a little inconsistent on that call, but anyways....The Special Teams of Montclair State are awesome!!!!!!!! very good job by Coach mad dog Ralphy Ciffereto Ciearie...and Skee!!! The offense played well, a few tweaks here and there  and watch out, but a solid game out of Mr.McCoach, Jump and Latzizia... Defense looked very fast got pressure on the QB and covered well....Next week can't have any mistakes and they have to turn it on for 60 mins against Kean!!!! Its homecoming, Kean is a great rivalry and have some of our former coaches and players there now so it should be very exciting, myself along with many of the alum will be in the train station ohh I'd say around 2 come join!! hahaha

Can't speak for TCNJ, but they are in a similar situation to Rowan.  Both have veteran defenses and young, talented, inexperienced offenses.  Profs weren't opportunistic enough on offense Friday.  It remains to be seen how the rest of the NJAC is going to play out, but I'd be very comfortable throwing the top two teams into the playoffs.
