FYI - You can watch the video replay of the Cortland at Kean game at d3cast.  Pat Coleman calls the action, along with yours truly on color commentary.

Note my post on the MAC board after that game...I was at the WU Rowan game, and was not overly impressed with Rowan...despite the score....

Well from my experience a transfer laden team only gets you so far.  Look at the teams that have won titles with the exception of 5th senior loaded and DI QB Linfield.  Mount is a powerhouse for the most part winning with the four year kid.   St. John's etc.

I still see great talent... across the entire NJAC.  Rowan been getting good talent, but as true freshman.  These kids are raw, but man do they have skills.  And I don't see any less playmakers than a Mount Union might have. In 2005, we had as many as they did... and if we has Orihel...  It just has to come together.  The real key is the o and d lines.  Unfortunately an experienced oline hasn't been able to handle a top defense.

Your Gulls are really flying high. Congratulations. I tip my hat to the #12 team in the country. You should be 7-0 after next week. Get ready for Wesley. They are a real handfull. Let's see Gulls run the table for the balance of the year. We have a real feud game with Kean this weekend !!! It's time for the Red Hawks to make a statement.

Those web casts are pretty ill!  Big ups to the D3 guys for covering Cortland /Kean.  Time to whack West Conn and go 5-1 as we head into the real meat of the schedule.

Awesome game today!!!!

Buff state Wasn't bad, hmm those two roughing the passers were questionable....the refs were a little inconsistent on that call, but anyways....The Special Teams of Montclair State are awesome!!!!!!!! very good job by Coach mad dog Ralphy Ciffereto Ciearie...and Skee!!! The offense played well, a few tweaks here and there  and watch out, but a solid game out of Mr.McCoach, Jump and Latzizia... Defense looked very fast got pressure on the QB and covered well....Next week can't have any mistakes and they have to turn it on for 60 mins against Kean!!!! Its homecoming, Kean is a great rivalry and have some of our former coaches and players there now so it should be very exciting, myself along with many of the alum will be in the train station ohh I'd say around 2 come join!! hahaha

Should be a great game, I'm a big fan of night games. The team did play well last week and as you stated a few tweaks and watchout. !!  Wish I could join you and the gang at 2pm to put some faces with names, wife has a previous engagement so we won't be getting on the road until around 4pm.

Talent no doubt...my observation, was that this was not the Rowan teams we are used to seeing...

A comment (that I did not make in that post) but thought about, was my opinion neither team would make a dent this year in the playoffs, should they get there....

I know people don't like hearing that (and it is only my opinion) however after seeing a couple decades of WU and RU games, I do feel I have a base to stand that on....

Better blocking up front and some quicker decisions by Hagerty and that changes.  Looks like Hagerty still has that HS clock in his head.  Remains to be seen if that comes together.  So far I'm not that impressed with the entire region this year.  Some good big game performances might change my mind.

dewcrew88,

The around the region looked good. I have just one question. Why was Montclair left out of your top 10?

No real specific reason. There are a lot of good teams in the 8,9, and 10 spots in the poll, and it's definitely tough to pick between five or six good teams for the two last spots. (Keith does something similar in his ATN column with "My 26-35").

I thought that Ithaca had good games the last couple of weeks and I thought they could definitely be 10. I couldn't totally take out Hartwick, so I made them a 10a after a really good performance against Alfred, despite the loss.

Montclair could have definitely been a 10b or 11... We'll see how the rest of the season shakes out.
