New top 25 poll out. Number 19 Trinity beats #24 Millsaps with the freak play of this or any other Century — while #18 TCNJ beats #25 Cortland in an old fashioned trip-to-the-woodshed style beating. So logically Trinity leapfrogs TCNJ in the current poll. Such is the power of ESPN.

Not that it really matters in the grand scheme of things... since by the end of the season the NCAA will have Curry ranked number one in the East. I can't fault Pat's poll (well OK, just a little), when the good folks in the NCAA will have a team whose conference has never won an NCAA playoff game ranked as best in the East. Can anyone see the possibility of a Curry/MUC matchup? Not i.

Can a 2 loss Cortland team get a pool c bid?  My guess is probably no based on last years situation.   We should be able to catch Rowan next week at home and then its the TUG FOR THE JUG.

QuoteYou've gotta be thinking "Coach of the Year in D3" as well as playoffs now.

Hamilton's done a great job and certainly deserves consideration, at least at the regional level.  So does Marzka at Albright, pending the next two weeks.

FisherAlum05

What about Coach Carr from Hartwick?  They've had a great season with wins over Fisher and Ithaca, and are on the verge of an NCAA bid.

hey all....Good win Red Hawks way to bounce back from last weeks loss against a very good Rowan team!!!

So if MSU wins big the final two weeks and Cortland looses to Rowan and Ithica, whats the chances? what has to happen for the Red Hawks to get a pool b bid? and are we in a position to get a pool c bid?

Im gonna say MSU needs this to get in the playoffs.....

-Ithaca beats Cortland and loses to Alfred
-Alfred loses to SJF bad
-RPI blows out Union
-Union beats Hobart
-Hartwick might have to lose to Springfield

Then you would have:

E8- SJF
LL- RPI
NJ- TCNJ

pool c teams would be....

E8
2 Loss Alfred team with bad losses to SJF and Hobart
2 Loss Hartwick team? if they beat SC
3 Loss Ithaca team out

LL
3 Loss Hobart team probably out
3 Loss Union team out

NJAC
MSU with the 2 losses

*Im assuming the MAC and NEFC only gets the one.....
*Maybe MSU has a better chance against a 2 loss Ithaca than a 2 loss Alfred?

If...Ithaca and Fisher beat Alfred and Hartwick beats Springfield and Utica, then Hartwick gets the AQ...so all pool c contenders need to be praying for Hartwick to lose to Springfield

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

JT,

Yeah I know what you mean about injuries.  That was us last season.

Are you making the trip up to Cortland Saturday?  If not I can set you up with some game photos like in 2005. Let me know what your plans are.

Its up in the air right now.  I'd like to go, but I've also need to work on the new house.

Rowan

Rowan has had a big problem with outsiders [non-students] lately.  It happened in one of the most well lit, high traffic areas near campus.  Right near both on campus and off campus apts.  The football field is a block away.  The mart is where students go for the munchies, because it is open late. I used to hit the mart after parties for a sub sandwich on the way back to my apt. Also its right on Rt. 322 with a lot of cars.

And the kid wasn't alone.  Shame.  Hope they catch the whole bunch.  Its not "considered" a bad area.

Isn't that the place that used to be the Wawa?

Yes.  It looks like its privately owned now.  Don't know why Wawa bugged out, that location is money.  Had their homemade chicken salad sub that was great at the TCNJ game this year.

The non-student issue and fights around campus has led to the non alcohol policy for tailgates.  The one issue was not related to other.  Don't remember that many problems when I went there.  A party was crashed by skinheads once, but it was loaded with football players.  All you saw were skinheads getting tossed around like rag dolls.

For the most part we never wanted to ruin a good time, so fights and BS ended quickly.  And on the rare occasions that the cops broke up a party, you went home no harm/no foul.  There was always tommorrow or next week.

Couldn't agree more Phil. Last week I got angry because the NCAA had Curry #2 in the East. The more I looked into the criteria they use I understand how they are in the top ten...but...I know, you know...and anyone who is into D3 football knows that Curry (even though they do deserve credit in their league because they are impressive in their league) do not belong in the top ten of the East. In the end everyone will see why when they go 1 and out in the NCAA and their conference is 0-9 in the tourney.

I'd take the Rowan JV giving 14 no sweat.

I'm not quite sure I'd go that far...or at least not this year...
