You can think big or you can think small.  You are a Jersey City fan so I understand your stance. ;D

Or possibly think realistically since schools seem to have less money every year.

And the money grubbing whores running the colleges, which is why the state is looking to take the autonomy away from the state colleges again.  Not blaming all college presidents but when you have things going on like at UMDNJ they are going to look at everyone to see who is taking money the money grubbing whores in Trenton want to take for themselves.

I know NJCU just hired a new VP responsible for fundraising, and she has done a very good job everywhere she has been.  The NJCU board has decided they need to raise money on their own to try to keep costs down.

I TOTALLY Disagree with you...RU does not need a season under .500 to gain some perspective....  They need TEN seasons under .500 ;D

Final Pick-Em's are posted. Overall winner is ramms1102. Straight winner is rams1102 and a tie for the spread between phil and rams1102. Had fun and hope to do it again next year.
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Maybe I'm just getting old, but this board has really gone into the craper.

We have TCNJ with a big NCAA game at RPI and Montclair with an ECAC game with Albright this Saturday and there is -0- discussion. What am I missing?

Maybe it's off to the MAAC board to talk some football.

As an RPI student from NJ (whose girlfriend attends TCNJ) - I can say to any TCNJ fans that the trip up to Troy is not a bad one and actually goes by pretty quickly (~3.5 hours, almost entirely highway).  So if you're considering making the trip up for the game, go for it!

It's always great to have a strong contingent of visiting fans and this coming weekend is no exception.  It should be a heck of a matchup; I know a lot of us up here are looking forward to taking on a new and tough team come Saturday.

Stalker,
the state giveth and the state taketh away. Thankfully, the autonomy which was bestowed upon the colleges in the 80's created some fine institutions out of a group that was previously indistinguishable from each other. Now it looks like the rest of the state will be made to pay for the actions of the idiots responsible for the debacle at UMDNJ.

TCNJ just announced all of their building plans for the next decade+. Nothing in the hopper for athletics. They get to continue playing basketball in that shoe box of a gym while the rest of their athletic facilities just grow old. Current President isn't much of a supporter, but many of the staff and coaches from the old regime are still intact — and they are damn good!

And in response to the "Woe is Rowan" brigade... how did TCNJ get it done with 6 special admits and the rest of the squad bucking up to the college's entry requirements. I'll always bitch and moan about TCNJ competing on the playing field when the average frosh needs to score 1300 on the SATs. They'll probably have one good year every four years — and that's just the way it's going to be. This is DIII. If the prevailing wisdom is that the occasional .500 record or worse means total failure, perhaps there should be a Division — DII1/2.

I for one am thrilled/shocked that TCNJ won the NJAC while outscoring Rowan/Cortland/Montclair 59-16. Whatever happens from here on out is gravy. A game against RPI and possibly MUC? It's too good! Heaven forbid Rowan fields a young team and takes its lumps for a year. They've been blessed with great QB's for the better part of a couple decades. A year of growth and a few new recruits and they're back in business. Or do we want to go back down the road that led Rowan to the hideous reputation it earned back in early 90's? A reputation it still has to defend and live down despite the fact the entrance requirements are much tougher and the one-year D1 wonders are unheard of.

JT

One of the big factors is the simplification of the offense.  Profs need to open up the playbook next year.  This year everyone knew what was coming.  Opposing defenses put eight in a box and blitzed the crap out of Rowan.  LB's were coming off the edge, and the Profs either didn't have time or couldn't hit the hot routes.  They need better performance from the slot positions and work the middle of field more.

Opponents were not afraid of the pass, and plays were run too slowly.  Up to the line and go, and get defenses back on their heels.

An impact transfer wouldn't hurt.  One or two a year ala Pat Thompson, Orihel, and Sakeen.  Not like the 90's... these were all post 90's transfers.

JAY

A change in coaching staff and in the offense might be in order. Ru offense has really not been the same since 2002 when it led DIII in all offense. Ru staff was to
generious in giving out information about themselves in clinics. Teams caught on what they been doing.

Will HC be willing to make changes? Also, who got let go on the Rowan staff?
Need to get the team back to the glory days?

Hey all you Red Hawk Fans, one more game at Sam Mills Field this year !!!

It was nice that we got the ECAC bid. The seniors get one more game, the rest of the team gets some playoff experience and should help in recruiting.

Albright is a tough team. They will not let down. I know this was a while back when I saw them come to Wesley in 2001 for an ECAC and Wesley sort of sleplt and Albright just kept scoring. When Wesley woke up it was a little too late. Be ready for a tough game.

Anyone planning to tailgate at the Train Station before the game?

110 %  for  60  minutes  and  we  go  9-2.  A nice way to build for 2008.

LET'S  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck to the Red Hawks this weekend.

I would probably go but it looks like the Stalker family will be heading to Bethlehem to catch the new Coach Browns second game at Muhlenbergs tournament this weekend.
