As an RPI student from NJ (whose girlfriend attends TCNJ) - I can say to any TCNJ fans that the trip up to Troy is not a bad one and actually goes by pretty quickly (~3.5 hours, almost entirely highway).  So if you're considering making the trip up for the game, go for it!

It's always great to have a strong contingent of visiting fans and this coming weekend is no exception.  It should be a heck of a matchup; I know a lot of us up here are looking forward to taking on a new and tough team come Saturday.

Welcome! As a RPI guy, you should come to the Liberty League board... a bunch of RPI alums there, and you might get an education in something other than football!

I've been keeping an eye on the LL board the past day or two but haven't chimed in as the topics are floating around satellite radio and baseball.  :P

Are you sure you're an RPI guy??

is there only 1 TCNJ fan on the boards? Quiet here in the DJAC.

At least we don't have to deal with RowanTexan & RowanLB this year......sorry JT.

I don't know who RowanTexan is, but RowanLB is at least partly responsible for the Rowan turnaround in the early 90's.  As a former player, he calls it like he sees it, just like many former players we might be more familar with LD, Gro, Reg, Robby etc.

Generally what they might say in the lockerroom now comes out on PP.

Funny, I can't remember them saying they had a bad case of jock itch on here...

Sorry to interupt your page, but can I get an eastern perspective on the rest of the East Region teams?  It seems like SJF is the best of them, but by how much over Ithaca, RPI, Hobart, NJ, etc?

Reason I'm asking is I'm trying to judge how the winner of the MUC/Ithaca game will match-up with the rest of the region.

In the North Region, Whitewater's toughest game will be this week vs Capital, but in the East, I don't have a good read on the overall strength of the teams.

THANKS for the info.

You may now return to you previously scheduled banter.....
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Phil / JT,

I've seen 5 tcnj games this season... they can be very good & then again they can be very sluggish... seemed impossible for them to get up for last weeks game, then when they started a nice comeback & drove inside the 15 w/ a chance to get within 2 points early in the 3rd period , they fumbled it away.... tomorrow if that stuff happens they will lose... if the team that showed up against rowan , montclair, w-conn & cortland  shows up in troy tomorrow they should be able to win, if last weeks team shows up, i doubt it.RPI is be no means a push over, or overrated team... the qb & wr are very good, rb is a freshman, their defense hasn't given up much all season.... if the lions stay away from the penalties & turnovers we should be on our way to ohio.

Hey Phil are you looking at DFW to CLE or CAN flights?

Doubtful. I had a piece of a herniated disc break off and lodge against a nerve. I'm barely functioning and can only manage about 20-25 minutes sitting in a car — although I can highly recommend the Vicadin/Valium combination I have. Surgeon said it should be absorbed by the body in 6 months+. Meanwhile no airplanes. Missed two business trips so far — one back to Jersey.

This is the first TCNJ playoff game I've ever missed. I would have loved to have made the trip to New York. As far as a trip to Ohio is concerned... I doubt I would have made the trip even if TCNJ was lucky enough to win this weekend. I wonder what the athlete to student ratio is in MUCsville these days. Is it one in ten plays football now? That's not a dynasty, that's THE institution. Great if you love football...

TCNJ has little margin for error it seems. Three turnovers committed in the redzone against Kean, plus a couple long pass plays doomed them against the Cougars. Do the same against RPI and TCNJ will lose in a rout. Play like they did against Montclair and Cortland, control the clock and win the turnover battle and they'll do well. Should TCNJ win, the following week would become little more than a curiosity to me. MUC does football. I'd be curious to see if TCNJ could score while keeping them under 40. Real interesting. I know the NCAA did the right thing in seeding the top four teams this way, but I still would have liked to have seen a true Eastern champ crowned. You follow the numerous in-region teams all year and you'd like to see who the last team standing would be. Do we just send the Lambert Cup for best Eastern team out to Ohio?

Pat Coleman

Be sure to tune into our broadcast, Phil, while you're recuperating. :(

::)  Just a thought.  How 'bout giving Kean  a little bit of credit in their win vs. TCNJ.  I mean kudos to TCNJ on a terrific regular season and I wish them the best in the NCAA's.  The Cougars have certainly made tremendous strides over the past couple of years.  NO?
Still a young ball club who had a tremendous QB.  Just thought I would shed a bit of light on the whole if TCNJ did this or does that scenario game, and their turnovers.  There was an opposing defense and offense they had to play...last weekend.
I know its hard for Phil and dave to give Kean any credit ---ever..lol
Good Luck to the LIONS tomorrow.  take it to RPI
And Good luck to MSU in the ECAC - take it to Albright
Let's go NJAC in the Post season

mandfense

Hope you feel better, Phil.  I have a feeling a TCNJ win will be the strongest pankiller.  I'll be listening as well...

phil

No slight meant to Kean, but if you're good enough to drive down field on the same "D", you're good enough to finish. Their QB is certainly great — which makes me worry about RPI tomorrow.

Hey, I ALWAYS root for Kean against Montclair, Cortland and Rowan!!! ;)

mandfence,
I hope you're right! Win or lose, what  a great and unexpected season.

Knightstalker

Phil, just hope nothing starts going numb.  That is what happened when a piece of herniated disc broke off on me.  Half my left foot is now numb.  But I will vouch for the effectiveness of the vicodin/valium combo.  Not sure if it killed the pain but I didn't care.  Take care of yourself and enjoy the game and enjoy TCNJ's success.

The Marc Brown era started at NJCU today, they lost to Curry in the Muhlenberg tournament.  I don't think the Knights ever win the first game of the season.
