Division I-AA La Salle has discontinued its football program.  The Explorers have played NJAC teams in recent years, including TCNJ this season.

yup gordon its sad...just re-started the program several years ago...but w/ all the defections there was almost no teams left in the maac...we all know the almighty dollar rules

That's too bad.  Lucky for the NJAC, everyone has their schedule filled with 9 conference games per season starting in 2008.

Does this school have any reason to be d1 in any sport in the first place?

I guess you would have to define "solid".

after numerous off court problems where many of the players were indicted or transfered and coach resigned the new coach giannini has brought the program back to respectability and shown huge improvements the last several years. besides you only asked if they had any reason to be D1 in any sport which answered your question.

I believe former NBA player Lionel "L-Train" Simmons played at Lasalle as well.

Back to football, I think if nothing else, TCNJ won't be intimidated this weekend.  Coach Ham will have them prepared to play to the best of their ability and represent the NJAC and East well.

Not to do too much self promotion, but what do you guys think of my TCNJ-MUC feature?

Where are all the Lions' fans? Who can hang with Garcon or stop Kmic? How will you score against our D? Maybe silence is deadly, eh?

Great column Dew.  Seems to be a more interesting matchup than most assume.  TCNJ has a great defensive team, but I just dont think they have the offensive fire power to stay with MUC.  But, we will see.

Thanks. I think it will be, only if TCNJ can stay within seven or 10 points. If it gets any worse than that, TCNJ is going to be in big trouble.

7-0 Mount.  Fumble return on a punt for a TD.  TCNJ had 2 sacks on the 1st series.

It's nice to see that MUC scored a mere 59 points this afternoon. Sixty would have been way over the line, I think ....  ;)
