QuoteWho has the nicest facilities in the NJAC?  Including Turf, bleachers, surroundings?  Also, who gets the biggest crowds?

I don't have any insight on the crowds but Cortland State has the nicest facility in the NJAC in my opinion.  It has the new sprint turf, large bleachers (home and away), a stellar press box and lights for night games.  Of all the Division III stadiums I've seen Cortland is in the top tier along with (in no particular order) Susquehanna, Mount Union, UW-Whitewater and Albright.

TCNJ's Lions Stadium is not bad as an older facility.

I would agree, Albright has a very nice facility.  Probably the nicest DIII locker rooms I have seen.

Maybe this will generate some conversation on this board. Below is how I see the NJAC Pre-Season shaking out for 2008 :

1. Cortland
2. Montclair
3. Rowan
4. TCNJ
5. Brockport
6. Willy P.
7. Kean
8. W. Conn
9. Buff St.
10. Morrisville

Anything can happen with the top 5 and IMO under Coach G. Montclair will come out on top at the end of the season. See ya at the dance !!!

Pre Season is right around the corner.
Should be an interesting year.  Wish i could get on here more.  Make my usual 3 or 4 appearances through out the season.
1.  Cortland
2.  TCNJ
3.  MSU
4.  Kean
5.  Rowan
6.  Brockport
7.  W Conn
8.  WPU
9.  Buff State
10. Morris
Kean has its' hands full replacing the QB (Roque)
spots 4-8 will be a crap shoot.  Could go any which way after 1,2,&3.
NJAC should be very interesting and tough this season.

tcnj has a lot of graduation holes to fill on defense... the o returns many players, but special teams & defense are a big question mark.... also i notice that they are traveling up to buff state for the 2nd year in a row.... rich alercio is gone... i think that due to budget situations the position will be shared / absorbed by the remaining assit. coaches... overall they will be a good team .... last years magical run will be hard to duplicate .... msu, cortland, brockport, tcnj & rowan look to be the class of the conference

I was indeed a magical run for you guys. Your QB & Punter Struble was a Senior, I think last year. I can't argue with your top (5) and with the rivalries anything can happen. You have to agree that MSU, Rowan, TCNJ and Cortland really do not like each other and we all have a little history with B-Port. Should be a lot of fun this year. The problem with the top (5) is that they usually get a few dumb losses. The most consistant team since 1999 has been Rowan and they appear to be in a re-building mode for now. Willy P. has improved and they can't be overlooked. How will Kean be with without Roque? Did they have any other loses. I'd like to any more comments on the up-coming NJAC Season.

I wish I knew what Brockport had to offer this year.  They've struggled in Recent years and actually suffered a loss to Morrisville last year.  As odd as it is to say though, this will be the easiest schedule  Brockport has had in 10 years, since they are now taking Ithaca, Fisher. Salisbury, and Wesley off the schedule.  Still, I am agreeing with the general consensus of preseason predictions of 4th 5th or 6th.

And adding Rowan, TCNJ, MSU and Cortland State to their schedule, along with Kean and William Paterson.  Not really any easier.

Salisbury/Wesley/SJF are recent final 4 teams, cant really say that about any NJAC teams...

Pat Coleman

Salisbury hasn't been to the final four since 1980 or so.

Rowan was in the semifinals the year before Fisher 2005, only three seasons ago.  Wesley and SJF are newcomers as far as going deep in the playoffs go.  Salisbury was decent a few years ago but their cupcake scheduling hurt them come post season.

Pat, my bad, thought Salisbury went farther than their first round games in recent years...

KS, wouldnt being "new comers" to going far into the playoffs be more applicable here considering this years schedule isnt going to be played a few years ago when the NJAC was stacked?

Most of these teams have been part of the Brockport Schedule in the last 10 years -- including Cortland every single year.  You can't really say that they are adding these teams.  For instance, the 2005 schedule:

Sept. 3 Cortland State •  L 20-10
Sept. 10 Salisbury *  L 35-30
Sept. 17 at Newport News *  W 14-7
Sept. 24 Frostburg State *  W 19-14
Oct. 1 at Ithaca •  L 42-17
Oct. 8 at St. John Fisher •  L 28-14
Oct. 22 Wesley *  W 47-0
Oct. 29 at Rowan •  L 22-0
Nov. 5 at New Jersey •  W 27-0
Nov. 12 at Buffalo State • *  W 25-19

These past few posts got me thinking. Check this out, since 1999 :

Making the Dance    Beyond The 1st Round   Conference

Rowan                   6                                  5                           NJAC
Hobart                   5                                  3                           LL
Montclair               4                                   2                           NJAC
RPI                        4                                   2                           LL
Ithaca                   4                                   2                           E-8
Springfield             4                                  2                           E-8
Brockport               4                                  1                           IND
St. Johns                3                                 3                            E-8
Cortland                 1                                                               NJAC
TCNJ                       1                                 1                            NJAC

I hate to say it, but Rowan is #1. They have consistantly gone deep into the playoffs and now they appear to be on a down turn, but time will tell. If we look into the future Ithaca, Cortland and St. Johns should be on top, but watch out for Montclair, RPI, Hobart and Union, then followed by TCNJ, Rowan, Springfield and B-Port. Should be a good year for the east.

I don't think that the NJAC was stacked, rather then Rowan was that over powering.

Any Comments & Happy July 4th To Everyone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
