Boursiquot is not back for this season.

Rowan received a transfer Quarterback from Delaware who participated in spring ball. Very, very good athlete.

Must be a gift from KC. ;)

Mentor,

I had D'Aries as a guidance counselor and Devingo as a gym teacher. And I believe I graduated with Hoatson's sister, Patty.

I left NJ for Texas a couple years ago and had a day to kill while waiting for my wife to fly in after dropping off the kids so we could drive down together. My farewell-to-NJ day consisted of a pie at Star Tavern and watching Shabazz embarrass West Orange in a playoff game. It was fitting to leave on that note considering my memories of West Orange football wouldn't exactly be a highlight reel!

Do you remember Steve Washuta?

Some news on incoming Profs (the linked articles reference a few other D3 programs too).

Delran's Max Larson and Lenape's Phil Bolger are bound for Rowan in September.

Larson played his first game on Rowan's turf Thursday, when he scored the first touchdown in the SJFCA game. He was a four-year letterwinner for the Bears, with two years at quarterback and four at defensive line and linebacker.

Bolger, an offensive lineman, had a 3.6 GPA and earned captain's status.

It includes reference to another incoming NJAC player:

"Tre Johnson of Burlington Township, who coach Tom Maderia called "the team's best cover corner," will attend Western Connecticut. He was a two-year starter and letterman for the Falcons and a first-team all-conference selection."

Another possible incoming player is:

Montgomery High graduate Matt Tholis, who was a stalwart at defensive end for the West in the 12th annual Sunshine Classic All-Star game.

The West offense also seemed to pick up the pace. It scored midway through the second quarter to make it, 12-7, going into the half. It was a battle of defenses and neither relented in the third quarter. Tholis was in on a number of plays, leaving him rethinking his future which was supposed to focus solely on javelin at Rowan University. "After this game, I'm debating if I should try to walk on (for football)," Tholis said. "I'll make a few calls and see what they offer me. I wasn't really sure if I could play. I'm not that big, but if I bulk up a little, I definitely could."

Hey guys hope everyone is enjoying the summer...I saw some talk about West Orange, Ben is gone...From what I heard he is transfered to Rutgers. Also, who else do you know from the D'Aries family...My mom is Patty, she is one the eight D'Aries girls from West Orange and my one uncle..Mike

The Mentor...

Your very wrong about what you said about West Orange High...They are making great strides in the right direction, I am over their all the time because I played with a few of the coaches at MSU, they run a very tight ship. It's quite a sight, they are in the bubble everyday training, if they are not training they are doing their homework.  All of the kids on the team are respectful young men and that all stems from the head Coach, (coach Jakes) ...Their PAL league left the one they were in for so many years while Mr. Albaniese was at the helm and now play in the one that Montclair is in, no weight class. Two of the teams won the league last year, and the freshmen team was 9-1, OUTSTANDING YOUNG GROUP OF KIDS. They always welcome back alum, in fact in encouraged so they can see first hand just what they are building, you should come by.

The Yankees say goodbye to another great yesterday.  RIP  Bobby Murcer.

:(  One of my favorite Yankees of all-time.  A class act and a gentleman.  :(

c'mon folks. the murcer mourning is over.  any news out there?  Not much on the cortland front that i know of.  about 30 guys went to syracuse and mixed it up with the orangemen in a little 7v7 action earlier this summer.  I guess they held their own pretty well against the D1 guys.  Cortland named captains:  Miles, Guiliano, Smith, Nagle.  You can check out the new recruit video at

clandfan,

Oct 11th should be a good one. You guys are tough enough, but having to go to your place (2) years in a row is a tall order.

Brockport has always been a tough well coached program. Their schedue gets a little easier this year and you may be right, but it's tough to overlook Rowan even when there is no love lost between Montclair and the Prof's.

Hope to see you in Cortland (one nice complex).

Coming from a Montclair fan who has no love for the boys from Glassboro, the Prof's though in a re-building mode are always tough and will be very competitive. They have a ton of pride and are well coached. My guess in the NJAC pool will be Rowan +14.5. Strap'em up and get ready.
