Here's the Red Hawk prospectus for anyone interested. !

http://www.montclair.edu/Athletics/sports/football/Football%20Prospectus%202008.pdf

I saw this last week, but no real info on the new blood coming in. It's the old NJAC cloak and dagger stuff. Nobody usually releases rosters until they are in camp and signed in. All hush, hush stuff.

This board is really dead, we could sure use some activity.

Do you know when the Red & White scrimage will be and the Lackawana scrimage?

Hope you are having a good summer and see you soon.

I'm guessing the Lackawana scrimmage will be Sept 6. We'll findout more when we get to camp next week.

Prayers go out to the family of Sam Collins and the entire Huntingdon football family.  Such a shame.  I am sure he loved the game and will be sadly missed.

Well said clandfan. A very sad day when a young man passes away. My prayers go out to his family and friends.

How are your boys doing in camp?

I think I'll do the NJAC Pick-Em's again this year. You would be a welcome addition
.
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

I would enjoy the pick em.  thanks.  From what I understand, there is a great attitude in camp.  There is a great nucleus returning and some newcomers who will compete for the two deep if not starting jobs so there is great motivation for the veterans to push themselves harder than ever.  I don't have any first hand specifics but I know the coaches are cautiously optimistic.  If these guys live up to their potential, this could be as strong a team as Cortland has ever had.

clandfan

Calling Cortland_Football.   Dan are you around?  Have you been to practice yet?

Maybe this will generate a little action on this very dead board.

Here are my thoughts for the opening week Pick-E'm for the NJAC. They could change before game week, but what does everyone think?

-17.5  TCNJ @ FDU
-21.5  Cortland @ Morrisville
-10.5  Rowan @ BW State
+ 7.5  Willy P. @ B. Port
-  7.5  Kean @ Merch Marine
+17.5 Fisher @ Mount
+  7.5 NC Weslelyn @ Widner

phil,

did you know that ronnie devingo passed away suddenly a few years ago ... he was a workout fanatic... i remember steve washuta, but i have  fonder memories of his sister karen

red hawk,

my entire family, including my father, his brothers & my mothers brothers , myself , my sons & practically all my friends all attended wohs... i  also taught in the system for a few years.... i know that jacobs is a good man & is doing the best he could & i truely hope that you all prove me wrong about the program ... i have been attending games since the early 60's... i remember when richie cataldo connected w/ joey hannon & beat freehold to end a very long losing streak in 64, pete karavaras returning the kickoff to beat columbia the last time the teams met, in 73... serino blocks extra point & wohs hangs on to beat lodi 19-18 after leading 19-0 in 68... the goal line stand vs irvington to open the 67 season w/ a 6-2 win,1965 dave delugash intercepts bloomfield in the endzone on the last play of the game  secures win 18-14... mike arnot picks up fumble & runs for td  1st game of the 69 season , it turns out to be the only points that team scored all season, heppy phillips 25 yr qb sneeke to beat dover in 67, maury sutter , bobby lyons, blues barbato, billy dalton , pauly barbato, derek morrison ,marty damato,  arty miller an so on... i could go on & on ... i still go to games & i will continue, but the administraion of this school system stinks...what goes on the bubble & what goes on the board of edu are two different worlds... hope they prove me wrong , hope to see you at the games

What are your thoughts for the Red Hawks in 2008 ?

going to Cortland intersquad scrimmage on Sunday.  Will report back here.  Good luck all.

Hey Phil hope all is well, I have not had a chance to get over and take a look but from what I hear, they look pretty good. Offense has the ability to score very effectively, the db's have some depth and experience...The defense will be headed by All-American Cornell Hunt.

I'm pretty sure Montclair reported on the 21st. Does anybody have any information on how we are looking. Will the Red & White Scrimage be this Saturday an if so what time will it be. Our Roster is printed on the MSU site. Any QB info ?

Cortland update.  Not much to report.  Had a hard time telling who was who.  I thought Nagle stood out on defense.  Both Def and Off. had some highlights.  I thought Giuliano looked good at RB as did another smaller back who was really quick but couldn't get his name.   Secondary seemed a little vulnerable but stepped up in the red zone (or red zone Offense struggled)  Perhaps most interesting is the QB situation.  Returning starter and sr. Miles took majority of snaps but I thought that Pitcher (the Colgate transfer) was much sharper and certainly making a case for himself.   It will be interesting to see how this shapes up.  OL/DL had highs and lows.   Offense had a number of big runs / defense, obviously then, gave up some big plays but they also seemed to get some good QB pressure.  QB's were off limits though so hard to say what that pressure really was.  A couple veteran OL were not dressed.  Not aware of injury situation.  WR's looked to have some speed but dropped a couple of well thrown balls.  Kicking game was not particulary good.  Lang (I think) had a couple of booming punts but overall, special teams struggled.  I think everyone seemed pretty upbeat at the end.  I am sure the coaches found plenty to work on but saw reason to be optimistic as well.  Good to be watching football.  Go Red Dragons
