It was nice taking a quick look at Kickoff 2008 today.

Montclair get's a Pre-Season ranking of (27) and predicted to go 8-2 for the season. Being an optomistic fan my thoughts are 9-1 and maybe you never know. Pat even has us as his pick for a possible Pool C bid. There is a lot to live up to, so all I can say is 110% for 60 minutes and let's see what happens. Let's hear some comments from the Montclair faithful.

LET'S  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not a bad showing from the NJAC in the rankings :

#22  Cortland
#27 Montclair
#30 Rowan
#67 Brockport
#68 TCN

We all know that anything can happen in the NJAC. Remember 2007 !!!!

I thought it was very good as well.  I thought the NJAC feature article was well done with the benefits of moving to a ten team league.
Given what I saw Sunday, predicting miles as njac player of the year may be a little premature.  I think he will have to have that kind of year in order to keep his starting job.  I think he will be on a pretty short leash given the talent behind him.  I wouldn't be surprised to see a change or, at the very least, some split time at QB.

Calling Cortland_Football.   Dan are you around?  Have you been to practice yet?

Yes.  Very strong looking team, but contain your enthusiasm for now.  The team is very banged up at a lot of key positions.

Hopefully we are full strength by the Rowan game.  The quarterback position is definitely competitive.  Miles has the starting spot now as far as I can tell, and deservedly so.  But Pitcher looks great too, and offers a different style (real good runner).  Both are strong leaders so I feel real good about the quarterback game.

Look for Giuliano to have a breakout senior season at tailback.  He has a big, experienced offensive line with plenty of depth to block for him.  And I always felt Giuliano was as good as any of Cortland's tailbacks when he was 2nd and 3rd string.

I'm not so sure about the defense right now.  They were getting pushed around by the offense when I was there, which surprised me.  My guess is they will be fine, but I'll be watching the Wilkes scrimmage closely to see how the D stands up to a quality team.
Justin Bieber created 666 false D3 identities to give me negative karma.

We reported on Friday the 22nd, meetings right after check in,dinner more meetings.
Helmets and pads until tomorow, the hitting begins. Gotta run will update you later. Don't think there is a Lackawana scrimmage this year, Red and White scrimmage may be this week, findout more later.  c ya
Early morning report:  Pictures this Saturday and some plays being run 10's 10's10s. Next Satuday the 6th is the Red/White scrimmage.  QB situation is this, ALL QB's are looking very strong coach isn't even sure yet who will get the nod to be the starter as of yet. That's a very good thing for us. Attitude is camp is high, today we seperate the men from the boys, hitting begins ;D  report back later tonite.

PG04 is looking for one more pollster for the east region fan poll from the NJAC.  I am doing it as I am unaffiliated for football.

Stalker,

Hope you had a good summer. I read PG04 and thought I would be a homer. I thought Montclair deserved a little more support last year in the poll. If you need another I would say count me in. I think the NJAC Pickem may be a bust this year. Seems like no support.

Two weeks in Montclair was ranked #4 last year in the East Region Poll, so i wouldnt exactly say they were not getting support last year...

Upstate,

Montclair was in the polls thru week #7. Then we were only honorable mention the rest of the year. Week #10 we could make a case since Hobart, Ithaca and Afred were 7-2. I am not knocking either of the (3) teams, but that is what being a fan is about and I know we got wacked by Cortland. I know that Dan is more impartial then I could ever be. Good luck to all this year. Any interest in the NJAC Pick-E'm? Will have (7) games week. Will have (4-5) NJAC teams + others. Straight and spread.

First post of the new season!  After 2 weeks of High School JV double sessions, I am ready for some college ball!  Its a bit odd not seeing Rowan in the top 10, but thats ok as the Profs have left me with many bad memories.  Anyway, good luck to all this season and lets see if we can finally win the NJAC.
Taste It!

Are you one of the (3) brothers that played for Montclair? If I am correct, please say Hi to your Mom and Dad. If not welcome to the board.

I will start the NJAC Pick-Em's this weekend. I gave everyona a little feel a few pages back. I will do a little tweeking with the spreads. I would like to know who is in. Please chime in on the Pick-E'm Board :

Phil, xGSC, Stalker, pg04, profsball, b-man and anyone else who is interested.

There will be at least 2-3 non NJAC match-ups and if i can get participation from anyone from the LL or E-8, I woud use those games as the 2-3 fill-ins.
