Pick-Em's For Week #6 Are Posted On The Pick-Em Board.

With the Cortland/ Montclair game coming up, there has been little chatter and bantering on here.  I obviously will be pulling  for Cortland but I fear Montclair will have one of those days where everything offensively falls into place.  Could get closer than I as a Cortland fan would care to see.

You guys are definitely favored. Like I said, we may have found a QB and if we are to make any positive moves the "O" has to get it's you know what together. Per the AFCA today #21 Montclair plays at #10 Cortland. I hope it is a close game and Montclair pulls it out. Playing in Cortland is no walk in the park.

OK, All You Montclair Fans :

Today we were ranked #21 in The AFCA Coaches Poll and D3 Football has us ranked #29.

It's something to build on as a team. We have a real tough test in Cortland this Saturday. Cortland is ranked #14 in D3 and #10 in the AFCA.

We need to get our "O" moving, give the "D" a little rest, protect against the deep pass and maybe we can come away with "W". Less then a perfect game will not give us that result.

110-60 and "Keep Pounding"  See everyone in Cortland on Saturday !!!

LET'S  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Cortland is the dirtiest team I ever played against in college!!!! Red Hawks go up there pissed off about the defeats we have suffered by the hands of Cortland in recent years. Defense watch out your for your knees (trust me) they will hit you after the play and talk smack all game all game, just remember the second guy always gets caught so just walk away!!!! The Beasts of the East is back, send the conference and region a message!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, good to hear that Rowan is back.

Isn't anybody at the intersection of Normal Ave. and Valley Rd. a little concerned that the Red Hawks have started the season 4-0 against a group of teams that are a combined 2-14? Before I dusted off Rowan's old moniker, I would check to see if the emperor wasn't wearing new clothes. If I were a Montclair fan I'd be a little concerned about winning the first four games by a margin of less than 4 points per game. Good defense? Probably. Good offense...?

Trot out the "beast" references should you dispatch Cortland. Though I doubt anybody in the NJAC right now could come close to any of the vintage Rowan squads.

Phil is right about the vintage Rowan teams.  I vividly recall playing  against Tim Watson and Cornelious White.  Both of whom were at one point starting D lineman at Maryland and if I recall correctly...one was 2nd team ACC.  Watson's hands never stopped moving...like Mike Tyson in Punch Out when he throws the flurry.  I guess thats why he ended up going pro.  I believe they also had a transfer QB from Michigan State, and  a Penn State Linebacker.  They were scary good in the mid 90's

If not for a freak blocking sled injury that ruined his knee, Watson who have made the Seahawks team.  He was preforming well at DE in preseason.  An insurance settlement has Watson set up nicely from what I heard.

A friend of mine went to high school with White.  I do remember him starting for Maryland at DE in their opener.  He just seemed too slow and not aggressive enought for a d1 lineman from what I saw of him.

I don't recall his exact stats, but I remember him having a couple of preseason sacks and playing well against the run.  Holmgren had some nice things to say about him at the time.

White went to HS not far from me as well.  Newburgh Free Academy.  He may have been slow at the D 1 level in your eyes but he was a stud at the D3 level.  Did you ever have the opportunity to play against him?  We re schemed almost all our blocking assignments around him and Watson!

A former Montclair player calling someone a dirty team? No offense, but isn't that the pot calling the kettle black? I'm not saying that Montclair is a dirty team but they certainly haven't acted like angels the times that I have seen them.

RedHawk

Well at least I livened up this forum a little lol :) I stand by what I said, during my time at Montclair I have never played against a dirtier team then Cortland...Didn't Montclair actually beat Rowan during the regular season when they had Watson to win the conference championship?

Hey Phil,

Yes, we are 4-0 and the "O' has not been good but a win is a win. I think we may have found a QB against Willy P. If we can put up (21) this Sat we will have a chance to walk away with a "W". If not we won't. Something tells me we have a real chance to pull this off and then look out. That being said, then we have to deal with TCNJ, Rowan and Kean. Don't forget Buff St. and W.Conn. You gotta love the NJAC !!!

I know that I will take a few hits from this post, but if I'm correct, well you never know. This is the first year I've seen Montclair play for 60 minutes every game. They have not been pretty, but we are improving. The "D" is real good and they will be fully tested this Sat.
