There and a few other boards as well. And then there are some boards where you can rip each other apart with no hits to your K's.

That is so true.  I only took three hits after my rants on the CCIW thread when I definitely deserved much more, but you all have the best community of posters on the board.  It looks like my comment about the SLIAC resulted in another slap on the wrist.  This board is one of the more civil I have seen and maybe the karma has something to do with it.  But one should not worry too much about it.

Sometime take a look in the past in the 668 pages of SLIAC ramblings... there have been periods of time (lengthy periods of time) when this board was anything but civil... Sager and Yjack would have to come in here and tell us to calm down... let's just say there were some diametrically opposed views...

anything can happen in 688 pages. people don't alwats have to agree-just as long as it doesn't become a personal attack-we can agree to disagree

On another note, those Michigan posters killed my karma! They don't mess around!

Oh yea...I found that out the hard way as well!!  :)

The regular crowd in the MIAA room is a little more prone to express its satisfaction or dissatisfaction with posts via the applaud and smite buttons than are the regulars in other rooms. Not saying that that's bad or good, it's just the way things are in MIAA-land.

We tend to think of it more as agree/disagree - other than during rivalry weeks - where any post made by a Hope fan will get smited by Calvin fans, and vice-versa.  And there is one topic that will guarantee you loose karma, and that is.....  complaining about your karma     :o

No worries, we're really all family, like big brother and little brother just picking at each other.   You are always welcome to join in.

Making a first post on a board and being gracious enough in defeat to describe your opponents fans as whiners and referencing a whambulance as the reason they won will probably get a ding or two as well.  ;)

Next season is so far away... but it could be the best season ever in the SLIAC with so many good players returning...

PLEASE PLAYERS, NO SURPRISES!!!!   COME BACK!!!!!
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

All Region teams are now out and as expected no one in the SLIAC was at a level to make the 3 teams....  I fully expect that some of our best next year, with that additional year of experience, could receive consideration.....  with all 5 first teamers this year being underclassmen, good talent returns..

I DO HOPE that the names of Verdis Lee (Westmin) and Clayton Whitlock (Mac) were submitted to D3hoops for Rookie of the Year consideration.. both had stats similar to (though slightly short of)  the Midwest Region winner, eve though Whitlock in particular played only sparingly in the first half of the season...  I hope they both received at least a little consideration for that award.....

Your buddy Rust College must be happy that Markeith Wilson made 3rd team South Region.

Yjak... me thinks the South must have been a little weak this year....  even Rust College had to be disappointed with the performance of the team, and the individuals, this year.

Yes, the South region was weaker this year than last. The ODAC posters might not like to hear that, but it certainly seems to be the case. Still your buddy has to be happy for Markeith.

I just noticed on SLIAC.ORG that Webster's Stefan Whittingham  was voted to the National Association of Basketball Coaches 2012 Midwest All-District Team.  Whittingham was named to the Division III Midwest All-District Second Team.

This is wonderful recognition - great to see that the efforts of one of ours from a lesser conference can still be appreciated when there are so many outstanding schools and individuals in the midwest region.   Congrats to Stefan and Webster University.

I'm telling you, watch out for the SLIAC next year!! ;) ;)
