Remember. If you plan on watching the video feed. Men's game starts at 5:00 pm. This will be a good match up of two teams that are guard led. If the SU group I watched on Saturday shows up, I think they will win.

The amusing part of the story... yes, hopefan can laugh at his stupidity, is that I stopped about 3/4 of the way to fulton for gasoline and McDonald's.. while I'm waiting, I checked the internet, and saw Denny's post... I confirmed by seeing that info on SLIAC.org.. so I had the choice.. speed on to Fulton and catch a very little bit of 2nd half of men's game, or turn around and head home... I went home.. caught a little of 1st OT and all of 2nd OT on internet at home..

I will check game times

A quick look at the Westmin - Spalding shows why the loss for Westmin

Westmin must have been going to the hoop often, as there was a huge difference in the number of fouls called .. Westmin 22, Spalding 34...  Westmin shot an incredible 53 foul shots making 43, a 23 point advantage over Spalding,     BUT, unfortunately for the Jays, when they weren't getting fouled, they shot poorly... 35% from the field, 21% from 3's... That and turnovers..too many turnovers recently from their best player, Joe James.... 7 vs Mac, 6 vs Spalding... trying to do too much?

Hopefan - Having watch SU twice. The number of fouls could of just as easily indicate the handchecking Call was in full effect. SU likes to get physical defensively. Aggressive bodying up on the guards. Hence some of WC's turnovers. In the FU game they just quit calling it. The amazing part is SU spotted WC 20+ points and gutted out a 2 OT Win. Props closing a tough road trip with a tough win.

Spalding needs to fall into about 4 wins and they can punch their Ticket. Looks like GC and WC for that #4. The interesting race is the bottom 5. Which of these teams Upset, road wins, who ends the season building and improving.

Denny, I'm more inclined to think Greenville is a solid 3rd, Webster and Westmin a battle for 4th... Remember, Webster has that loss to Eureka... that means they have to make it up with a win on the road at one of the other top 4... it is a distinct disadvantage for them at this point in time... Bottom 5 is fun, I agree.. anyone can beat anyone.. my obvious favorite is Prin for all the hard times they've gone through.. Fontbonne's talent level however should get them 8 wins.. I think they are a clear 6th, and should sweep 7,8,9,10

3 games tonight, none matching up Conference Tourney Contenders...

Fontbonne at Mac... is the talent level all that different?  Maybe not... The Griffs would do well to watch and learn, particularly when it comes to playing tough nosed defense, and getting good shots on offense..  Because, unfortunately, I don't think the score will be very close...Wondering if Whitlock will be ready to be a part of things tonight....

Eureka at Blackburn...  Blackburn wants that first win, this could be their best chance... Fenoglia and Wickert have to play well to keep this season from being a total disaster for Eureka...

Greenville at Iowa Wesleyan.... Greenville should win easily to stay in the thick of the race

Hopefan. You have spoken of FU's talent level twice now. No one on this board has seen FU play the last two years more then you. I do believe you have a good eye for talent. Simple question for you. In YOUR Opinion does FU's two recruiting classes have enough TALENT, to compete for a top spot next year? As Jrs. and Soph. Just your Opinion.

hopefan

Denny.. you made it easy for me.. your question... to compete for a TOP spot..

No

Now if you had said a top 4 spot.......

;D ;D ;D

Fair enough answer, +1K. Thank You, Sir.

Bob Barker says, Now for +2K. Can Kevin Miller go hard for 12 minutes a half. On BOTH ends?

Yeah BC. Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner. 88-51 over EC.

Mac downs FU 78-72. Amazing!

Joe - Looks like FU got some home cooking. In that Loss. But, come on Grant Tucker, really 17 minutes and Zero stats but 3 Fouls. May have to question that Project???

Joevegas

Free throws were very tilted.   Guess there wasn't a video feed on this one.  But yes,  how does both tucker and bakis play a combined 29 mins with zero rebounds and zero points.  Hard to swallow.  Rucker played great.   The point Gaurd for FU gets one assist   Hard team to figure out

Joevegas

I did say back in early December that I questioned whether FU could even win six or seven games.  Time to look to the future cause they just didn't improve much.

hopefan

Joe, Denny.. let me throw this at you.. Fontbonne really only has players at two positions..

They have a bunch of 2 guards, none of whom are true point guards, and the guards are undersized (Dorhauer, Welch, Ettinger), and virtually everyone else is a 3 spot guy.. Greenlee and DeGeare aren't strong enough to be power forwards or big and wide enough to be in the middle, and Rucker at 6'2" isn't tall enough to dominate inside... these guys are talented enough to play out of position and beat weaker teams, but are 'tweeners' against better teams and then weaknesses show...

just a thought as to the lack of wins..

and Joe.. I still think Fontbonne gets 8 wins... 2 a piece against the bottom 4 of Prin, BC, IWC, and Eureka...

Wow.. how Eureka has fallen... to lose to prevously winless BC by 37 is an embarrassment of epic proportions for a team that just last year was in a last second game in the conference tourney...  I'll be bold and say this.. if anyone wants to point fingers at a coaching staff, they can be pointed here for Eureka's failure to recruit virtually any High school kids over the last four years to develop continuity in the program.. If a program depends 100% on JC kids, they can have very good years like last year, but if the quality is off, they can fail miserably with little hope of recovery like this year...
Eureka, to me, is another SLIAC gem.. just like Greenville and Westminster... unique historic facilities, lovely small town campus that gets great local support....there is no reason they can't be pulling in and developing small high school 'outstate' talent just like Mac does on a yearly basis... I cannot understand why they have become so dependent..100% dependent.... on JC talent...
