Denny, been to 1 game at The Shirk when Maryville played IWU in the NCAA tourney and it is pretty cool place.  Beautiful facilities, a loyal fan base and just an overall excellent atmosphere.  That said, I hear they're pretty tough to beat in that place.  Would be a cool experience for the Gorloks, though.  Plus, that's an easy road trip for us St. Louis folks and a nice college town!

I would Love it. I could also see Bryce Dolan play. You know, one of those Out Hwy 44 kids. Who is getting 16 minutes a game as a Sophmore and making our hometown proud.

Plus IWU lost their last home game.  ;D Go East. Cause there is No South. The year of the Party at Gore and Lockwood. Go Gorlok's!!!!!!

And, Pat Coleman, google Josh Spellmeyer's article on Kevin Miller. Great Faces in the Crowd story for you......

You got your wish - Gorloks head to the Titans.

So the Gorlocks go north to IWU... will be Very tough... looking WAY ahead... wouldn't it be something if seeds held and Wash U got to host Hope, Wooster, and IWU in sweet 16... that's final four quality!!!!

I haven't seen IWU this year... but from reading Titan Q's work all year, and remembering last year, they are tremendously deep... and talented.... Gorlok fans will see lots of Green... St Norb's and Ohio Wesleyan makes for an interesting first game..

Hint to those planning on going to IWU - Webster game... if tickets are available at Webster during the week, make the time to get them there... IWU has a huge following, purchasing tickets at gate could be iffy, or lengthy....
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Gorloks vs. Titans!  Roadtrip!  Now if I could only get my guy, Coach Bunch, to hook a brother up with some Gorlok gear so I can represent!   ;D

In reality, that would be a fantastic idea.. give anyone who buys a ticket to game in presale a Gorlock hoops t shirt so everyone would be wearing the same thing...  put some cute saying on it.. would rev up the spirit... unfortunately, Webster student body doesn't travel well.. in other words, not at all... it's family and not much else....

Yes, I would buy your ticket at Webster.   My guess would be some allocation from St Norbert and Ohio Wesleyan will be returned and made available for sale.  Illinois State High School playoffs will be underway so some of the local IWU crowd will probably go to the high school games.

Another Prediction: Webster has fan bus for students!

Bunchtime - Buddy, you should be one to stop by the gym and get to tell the Guys of your experience. Then get ya some real swag.

I like that trade, Denny!  Though I don't know if they want to hear of my experience.  A 25 point drubbing at the hands of Coach Bunch's Maryville (TN) team.  Hopefully the Gorloks fair better than my team did.  First step, IMO, is getting your guys to believe it can happen; that you can beat IWU.  Not being content simply because you made the tourney.  Obviously, from my limited knowledge of IWU, it would take an A+ game by the Gorloks and maybe a D game by the Titans.  Crazier things have happened in sports.

I hope Webster is adjusting and tinkering with their Zone. "Best way to beat a zone? Shoot them out of it." They have two Good Ones in Sodermann and Nelson. And the kid from Wash, MO is shooting it a 50%.

But, I've seen a lot of Upsets when a team goes Cold at Home. Boy it's setting up to be a good one!

BunchTime

Agree, Denny!  It's one of those games where if IWU is shooting it well from deep, it could get ugly.  On the other hand, if they're not, we could have a ballgame.

Key for Webster is being active on the defensive end. Seems rather obvious but sometimes the Gorloks have a tendency to kind of stand around defensively.  Gonna have to extend the zone a little to get to shooters. Then, must find bodies and box out.

Webster matches up well in the front court. Pound the rock into the bigs, don't settle for long jumpers, get back in transition on defense.  Easy peeezy, right?
