The "Gender Benders" will get over it. They come over and give us a tutorial of religious affliation and available property values. I agree and that makes 3.  ;D

Blackburn heading to Oshkosh this weekend.  Anyone here willing to give us a scouting report?   ???

What to expect out of Blacburn? That has been the question for years. I would look for a team that goes at it hard. Blackburn College bucked the trend and had an enrollment growth and most are playing some sports. They haven't won a game in awhile. And their out classed. I would like to hear what you see. BC is heading in the right direction. I Hope!

I thought I read they were 13-14 last year.  That is not great but not horrible.  Very young team.  Hope I could get a bit more.  TIA for anything you SLIAC members can share.

Blackburn was 2-23 last year: http://www.d3hoops.com/teams/Blackburn/men/2014-15/index. hopefan can give you the best info, but he is pretty busy right now. Here are their stats for two games this year -- vs Colorado College and Grinnell:  http://www.blackburnbeavers.com/sports/mbkb/2014-15/teams/blackburn?view=lineup.

AppletonRocks I fear the only thing you would have seen in reference to Blackburn and 13-14 was the years on top of the schedule.  I have no insight into this years team but it's been a very very long time since any team they've put onto the court, field, or course has done anything but dissapoint.  Been a rough time for Blackburn.

AppletonRocks

And Grinnell is not basketball so that game has no bearing on my thinking.   ;)  Thanks. I guess I misread their website.

ARocks are you talking WBB? Now the Lady Battilin' Beavers will be a tough match almost anywhere. Program needs to Learn how to win.

AppletonRocks

No, MBB.  I see where they were 2-23 last year, but were optimistic for 2014/15.

Didn't Ronald Reagan go to Eureka?  I miss him.

Not sure what you're saying, Denny, about the Blackburn women. I suppose it's worth noting that they went from 0-25 in 11-12, to 3-21 in 12-13, to 6-19 in 13-14. But to say they will be a tough match almost anywhere is a bit of a stretch it seems to me.

I hate to say it, but the standard over at Blackburn College must be incredibly low for all sports.  Low or possibly very realistic.

Did Blackburn have football until recently?

Gregory Sager

Blackburn discontinued football following the 2008 season. The Beavers began playing football in 1989, but never had a winning season -- although they did finish .500 twice.

The Beavers never had large rosters, typically fielding anywhere from 40 to 60 players. And one of the arguments put forth by Blackburn administrators for cutting football was the program's low graduation rate.

MacMurray loses 86-81 to a pretty good, but probably not good enough to be ranked #22, UT-Dallas team. Mac was down 20 in the 2nd half but fought tooth and nail to get back within five several times. Overall a good showing for Coach Creal's guys.

Millikin got a steal with just a few seconds left in the first half against Webster and hit a buzzer beater 3 and trailed 28-26 at the half. Then they came out and took a lead of 6-8 points before Webster managed to come back and win 81-68. Obviously, lots more scoring in the second half. Having Aaron Griffin back at center was probably the difference for Webster. They need at least one big man since Kevin Miller is out indefinitely, and Griffin is the only one they have.

Tomorrow's Webster vs UT-D and Mac vs Millikin games should both be good ones.
