I am sorry, but comparisons to the CCIW and the MIAA are always going to leave you disappointed. Even if it a comparison of the fanbase.

As I say, it could be worse.

I mean, I have names for incoming Washington University freshmen, but what is the point in sharing over in the UAA ghost town? By the way, did you go to the Meramec tournament? Matt Nester is joining the Bears after a very good career as a Jr. Billiken.  Washington University will be a legitimate Top 25 team next season but I think he will play.

Clearly I must get on the Twitter bandwagon.. currently clueless... ::) ::)

Titan Q thanks very much....

Very unusual for Blackburn to get a suburban St. Louis kid like Nate Hinton...Lafayette HS is one of the most consistent winners in the area... Nathan Hinton will come to BC with a solid background... my stance has always been that a kid with playing time at a BIG high school, though not necessarily a big scorer, may very well have a better shot at SLIAC success than a kid from a 1A/2A rural school with bigger numbers... the day to day competition he has seen has likely been that much better,,,

Good luck to Nate Hinton and congrats to BC Coach Kollar for making an important in-road.....

+1 I am a higher ed nerd for sure.  Apparently, I am one of two people ever to check out the History of MacMurray.  That is one more than I expected.

Unfortunately, I used MOBIUS to see if I could interlibrary loan histories of the other colleges, but it seems that no other SLIAC school has a institutional history written.  So, the good news for everyone else is that this is the last of it.  At least in the SLIAC thread.  Next up: A history of North Park College, commemorating the fiftieth anniversary, 1891-1941.

There are several excellent histories of EC available:

http://vufind.carli.illinois.edu/vf-erk/Record/erk_38982   Has a good bit of background on the history of athletics at the college.

http://vufind.carli.illinois.edu/vf-erk/Record/erk_81486  An outstanding compilation of personal reflections.

The Post Dispatch area college recruitment report has been updated with a few local players.

Here are the local men and women who self reported that they will play varsity sports at SLIAC schools.

Mallory   Proffer   Eureka   basketball   Fontbonne

Cameron   Nelson   MS-Berkeley   basketball   Greenville

Mackenzie   Kellogg   Wesclin   basketball   Webster
Mayghen   Mugele   Wesclin   basketball   Webster

Andy   Bennett   Webster Groves   basketball   Westminster

I have seen Andy Bennett play.  I am not sure that he played much prior to this season, but Webster Groves has had a lot of depth over the past several seasons.

Proffer, Kellogg, and Mugele are young ladies... Kellogg listed at 5' 10" averaged a double double for a team that was under .500.. still apparently a good catch for the Webster ladies

Cameron Nelson averaged 14 ppg, 43% from the field ... good numbers coming in to the SLIAC.. no heights listed on roster, but he doesn't shoot 3 pointers, and given steals and assists numbers, is probably a quick guard.... hope he's a penetrate and dish guy that can get the ball to Greenville's 3 point shooters

Andy Bennett listed at 6'5" played in an outstanding program at Webster Groves, averaged 6 ppg, 5 rebounds per game.. didn't shoot well, but I like the potential of big school kids coming to the SLIAC....
