I'd say you have offended Blackburn with your comment.

Seriously?

I thought that was obvious comic relief...and I said rumored commit...as in I started the rumor.

If you want to see the Beebs being defended (or something like that), you must watch this one: http://deadspin.com/i-cant-stop-watching-justin-bieber-play-basketball-poo-1508539501

Yes, seriously. I know there's no action on the UAA board, but if there were I don't think you would have posted it over with "Rumored Wash U commit". Not trying to start an argument, but sometimes the comic relief isn't evident to the reader and given Blackburn's struggles until last season it seemed to me to be a bit of a dig.

I might have touted the Beebs as a Washington University recruit...

But, I am not just a UAA guy that stops by from time to time...I am invested in the SLIAC.  I go to games and follow the updates.  I have posted on more SLIAC recruits than anyone.  The Bieber post was one of a series.

Incidentally, the Washington Missourian had an announcement for an Iowa Wesleyan commit from Washington High School though I cannot find that online.  If only our Franklin County-based fan were still around...

My apologies, then. We all appreciate your participation here, and since we've met and chatted a few times I guess it just struck me as out of character for you to make that post. Clearly, I misread your intent. Sorry.

WUPHF

No need to apologize.  Do watch that second Bieber video though.  It is surreal.

I should have just used Twitter, but here is that Iowa Wesleyan recruit.

Blue Jay Athletics ‏@WHSBlueJays Apr 13
Congrats to Isaiah West for signing to play Basketball next year at Iowa Wesleyan University!  Good luck Isaiah!

Washington is my alma mater and I have seen him play, but I do not remember him.  It looks like he has had several games this season with 15-20 points and 5+ rebounds.  The Blue Jays always play good schedule.

hopefan

for strictly SLIAC fans...

What a surprise in the SLIAC Softball tourney... 1,2 seeds Fontbonne, Eureka eliminated ... 3,4 seeds Westminster, Greenville play for SLiac Championship, NCAA berth today....

Fontbonne and Eureka both entered with outstanding records and were likely heavy favorites, though I don't follow closely and am not sure if injury etc may have influenced the outcome...
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

y_jack_lok

^^^ Fontbonne losing is a bit of a surprise. Their only two conference losses in the regular season were to Westminster. Then they lose to Greenville twice in the tournament. I think Eureka overachieved a bit and might have had a somewhat soft non-conference schedule. It looks like Greenville has to take two from Westmin today since Westmin has not lost yet in the tournament.

hopefan

To carry on the softball story, 4th seed Greenville stuns the SLIAC Softball world, sweeping a Saturday Doubleheader over Westminster, winning the conference tourney from the 4th seed spot... surprisingly, only the scores and a small write-up from Westmin appears early this morning on SLIAC.org... lots of rain delays, they may have finished very late... I'll hope that SLIAC.org gets a write-up in today to recognize Greenville's achievement.  A huge day for the Greenville softball program..... a feel good day for the school....

FYI. I spoke my mind about the Justin Bieber thing, but did not touch your karma.

LAUGH laugh, I'm -2 for talking about SLIAC softball...

Mr. Ypsi

Reminder to WUH and hopefan - alas, karma is not that simple.  It is useless as a way of objecting to (or giving kudos for) a post, because there is no way of knowing what provoked the +/-.  Especially for those of us who post often (and often on various boards), for all we know it may be from someone who just now read a post from weeks ago!

Karma should be done as likes on facebook... showing who has awarded the karma... would promote some 'interesting' discussion, I'm sure... ;D ;D ;D

Alas, karma is not that simple.

Indeed.

In looking at your karma, it is wild to see that you are at +2987/-2764

What did you do to garner so much negative karma?  That has to be from discussions related to football or another sport right?

Incidentally, while I have not yet had a chance to read the Eureka College or North Park College histories, I did discover that there was a Central Wesleyan College in Warrenton, Missouri of all places.  They were a founding member of the first private college athletic conference along with Westminster.  The Methodists had colleges in Marionville, Cameron and Farmington as well.

They closed or merged during WWII...but who knows what the SLIAC would look like today had they survived.
