What's the word on Ward?

Sorry... I'm on vaca so can't 'drop in' and get the buzz....YJack is our best bet, but he's a little on the shy side, right yjack?

Right.

I would never be considered a Webster source, but I used to read the print version of the Webster Journal which did an OK job covering sports.

Unfortunately, they went entirely online and when I looked, the last article that had anything to do with sports was about two players taking a knew during the national anthem in the game against Washington University.  I did not notice that at the time.

WU 75 - FU 64. Dortch with 23 and Moore with 17. Some good minutes from Crenshaw off the bench. Jones with good defense but sketchy offense. Seems like he was trying to do too much. Ward on crutches. Don't know anything else.

For anyone interested in tomorrow's EC/BC game, start times have been moved back to 5:00 and 7:00.  Ben Zobrist trumps SLIAC hoops:

Webster survives The System at Greenville 121-115.

Prin's last chance tonight at Webster. With a loss they are out. Very disappointing performance for that talent or maybe I've simply way over rated them.
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

HUGE win for Blackburn at Iowa Wesleyan, puts them right back in the picture... if they can just hold serve, a -1 in the standings may be good for 4th... they have to beat the bottom 3 and they have to win at home vs Prin and Westminster... very possible.  Losses at Webster and Greenville would not necessarily hurt them.. of course a win at either would help immensely.

Webster leads Westminster at the half, 48-37.

Webster is shooting over 60% from the field, 60% from three point range.  The Gorlocks could beat almost any team today it seems...

Westminister looks a little confused on defense...no need to triple team anyone on this Gorlock roster.

WUPHF

Webster over Westminster in what was one of the best league games I have seen.

Gorlock hot shooting in the first half and overall depth prove to be too much for the Blue Jays.

Key stretch occurred after Westminster closed the gap and Sean O'Brian went to the bench.

^^ Yes, a well played game by both teams. Perhaps the best all around team effort for Webster this season that I've seen. Both teams a bit too unselfish at times. Passing is great, but passing up good shots...?? I thought Westminster did more of this than Webster. Gorloks with 10 blocks in the game. Conference race tightening up.

Greek Tragedy

So Spalding's Nick Trisko scores 28 on 12-21 shooting and grabs 14 rebounds...in 11 minutes, well, according to the boxscore. Now that's efficency!

I noticed that too Greek... gotta be an error on those minutes... the other stats are likely correct!!!

I have a problem with another box score.. the Greenville-Mac game...
Greenville is up 30 with 5 minutes left against an obviously undermanned MacMurray squad.. was it necessary to score another 25 points in the last 5 minutes to win by 37...I have an awful lot of respect for what Coach Creal has accomplished in his years at MacMurray.. perhaps Greenville didn't... and 4 technicals, the assistant coach finishing up the game?  What is going on in Greenville?  Trash talking a team they're beating by 40?   The system seems to have turned the perrenial sportsmanship winner into the bad boys of the SLIAC.  I still love the system, I still thrive on watching GC play, but their image is sliding fast to this SLIAC supporter, and likely to some of the other coaches in the conference.
NO EXCUSE

Now then, the conference race is shaping us beautifully... huge wins yesterday for Principia and Webster have things tight... a couple more wins on the road for underdogs will make the last two weeks a fantastic happening.

One quick note... Greenville has the sweep over Westminster.. could play a big role when conference tourney matchups are established.
