SLIAC team No.6 to have their schedule up is Fontbonne... though it includes only 24 regular season games... this is unusual for Fontbonne, so I'm wondering if a 25th game might appear a little later...

Fontbonne's non conference schedule includes:

at Illinois Wesleyan   (17-8)

at Oakland City   (20-8)

home vs University of Dallas   (9-16)

home vs Robert Morris Springfield   (0-18)

home vs St. Louis Pharma    (0-25)   Pharma failed to finish out their season in 2016-17, forfeiting their last two games.....

home vs Wash U  (21-6)

Left looking for schedules from Eureka, Iowa Wesleyan, Spalding, and Westminster (Mo.).....

Principia becomes the second team to make their full schedule available (it's there if you dig a little)

Their 6 non conference games are:

2 games in Illinois College tourney (opponents not yet shown)    last year MacMurray was in this tourney with Nebraska Wesleyan and Chicago Concordia

Wash U (21-6) at home

2 games in the "Hoops in Hawaii Tourney"   listed as UC Santa Cruz (12-13) and Pacific University  (12-12)         How cool is that!!!

Away at Millikin (3-22)

The Illinois College Tourney includes Dominican (12-14), U.of the Ozarks (8-17), Principia (12-12), and Illinois College (8-15).
Will be interesting to see whom Illinois College chooses to match up with in the first round......

Indeed, Fontbonne does add a 25th game....   at Illinois Tech  (22-6)

MacMurray also plays them.

^^^ McMurray certainly makes sense given how close Jacksonville and Springfield are.

Right... I'm kind of surprised we don't see them on Blackburn's schedule too, but happily, Blackburn stuck solely to NCAA D3 teams....

WUPHF

While Division III colleges and universities are getting ready to host eclipse viewing parties next week, the SLIAC may have the distinction of having the most members in the shadow of the total eclipse next week.  I need to look at the USA South Athletic Conference again to confirm.

Westminster has the best view with 2:30 in total eclipse.

Webster gets over a minute.

Fontbonne gets a mere 13 seconds.

Blackburn announces an 11 man recruiting class... and they need it... with significant graduation losses, and now the disappearance of Tommy Childs from the roster, there are no true starters returning, and about 15 ppg from the bench coming back... Malcomb Scott, Jake Lockhead, Reed Rusten saw limited critical time at best last year... great opportunity for the new faces, but wow, it could be a brutal 2017-18 season after a pretty nice Blackburn year in 2016-17.

Greek Tragedy

Was that a lack of preparation from the coaching staff in regards to recruiting and getting underclassmen playing time? That's some pretty good turnover.

I guess you could say that, but when 4 seniors are mainstays of the program, they're going to get a lot of minutes... the 5th starter, Tommy Childs, listed as a sophomore last year, isn't returning... BC was competing for a conference tourney spot down to the last week... they went with the seniors....Coach Steve Kollar is going into his third year...I'm assuming the late hire killed what is now his junior class, and this year's sophs, his first real recruiting class, didn't get much time last year as freshmen....

Spalding is the 8th SLIAC school to post their schedule, although the initial release shows only 22 games..... A little digging shows it did not include 2 games in the first weekend tourney at Roanoke, bringing them up to 24 games... We'll wait and see if there is a 25th....

Spalding non-conference schedule is:

At Berea (17-10)

at home vs Hanover   (26-4)

at home vs Adrian (7-18)

at home vs Centre  (14-11)

at the Roanoke tourney vs North Carolina Wesleyan  (13-12)....... other two teams are Roanoke (15-11) and Bluffton (13-12).....    (holy smokes, Spalding has garnered enough respect not to be matched with the host team in the first round!!)

Keep an eye out for that missing 25th game!!

Greek Tragedy

Always disappointing when you can't fill the schedule. UWSP only had 24 last year. I was informed on one of these boards that a non D3 opponent that many D3 teams play had an opening the same time Point had an opening. I threw a line out there but was basically told "it wasn't worth it." I don't know, let the 10-15 guys have their moment in the sun then.
