Totally agree with Greek, but hoping the CCIW can outbid the WIAC for your services.  :-)

4     Principia..... down from 3 last year.... Illinois College Tourney (Illinois College, Ozarks, Dominican), Wash U, Santa Cruz and Pacific in Hawaii, Millikin...  Lets hope the ironman 5 of Prin can stay healthy and enjoy this sched... Ic tourney is fair and face it, two west coast teams in Hawaii is Fantastic... Wash U coming to Prin is also a highlight... oops, there is Millikin again

Just in case you were curious, that November 21 match-up between Washington University and Principia will indeed be the very first meeting between the two schools.  That is interesting, considering that the institutions are only 40 miles apart.

The only other SLIAC school not to play Washington University is Iowa Wesleyan, though that is far easier to understand.  Principia has been competing in Division III Men's Basketball since at least the founding of the SLIAC.

Has there ever been a Principia fan on the D3boards?

No poster that I remember, but I'm aware we are followed by some of the parents of players, one of whom went out of her way to meet me and thank me....on the other hand, chatted with last year's leading scorer (Anumu) and he had no clue D3hoops.com existed...

If I remember, you had a lot of Principia coverage last season.

Otherwise, basketball season is just two months away.

Greenville with 24 players on commitment list for 2017 -18. How does Coach Barber keep every one of them happy?  He is the kind of coach that sticks with each kid thru graduation. It will be a challenge, but the kind of challenge any coach would want. Compare that to Prin, with their one man class and 8 man roster.  Will Prin be able to field a team in 2018-19?

Romalus, Tanner Cochran and Sean O'Brien are no longer listed on the roster.  Maybe more...I closed my browser after realizing all three were missing.  This after losing Nick Carlos last summer.  This could have been a special season for the Blue Jays, but alas...

Westminster has posted an expanded 2017-2018 roster including five freshmen.

I thought for sure Tanner Cochran was missing from the roster when I last looked, but he is indeed on the roster.  My apologies if I posted incorrect information.

I don't think it was your mistake. Rosters can change overnight. I don't even see the reason to post a roster until at least November anyway.

Cochran makes them better but they still may have to start 4 legit guards. They may have a tough time stopping a team that pounds it inside. This season, Mac may very well be that team.  Actually, no other SLIAC team seems to fit that bill...  it's going to be a very guard oriented league.

I know what you mean...

For Westminster, they are fielding one player listed as the center on the roster, a 6-5, 200 lb freshman.  They are returning a 6-6 junior and 6-5 sophomore who both weigh 215 lbs.  Four other players are listed at 6-4.

I feel as though two or three of these Westminster players are transfers, but there are no bios.  I know that at least one is a transfer, but I am not sure about the rest.

So, with Practice getting started in 4 days, rosters are popping up around the SLIAC....

Don't know if there will be a positive impact, but I just noticed 2 very surprising names on the Fontbonne roster...

1) Kalin Mitchell....This is the son of Westminster coach Matt Mitchell... and in the back of my mind, I'm sure some of the decision making was done on the golf course between  Coach Mitchell and Fontbonne Coach Lance Thornhill, both avid linksmen...I do remember Coach Mitchell relating to me that his son could be a good D3 player and I was pleased when I saw him go to a place like Central last year...  but something didn't work out, he didn't play at Central, and he's now at Fontbonne listed as a Freshman.  He was a very good player at Fulton High School....

2) Jamahl Wilburn...  A Florida kid who played a little at Webster the last two years.... when his name disappeared from the Webster roster, I figured we'd never hear of him again... now all of a sudden he's on the Fontbonne roster!!  This is a big body kid, who originally was earmarked by Coach Bunch to be the man in the middle for Webster as a junior/senior... and he showed some signs in limited minutes as a Frosh/soph that he could play....  IF he stays (gets into) shape, he could be a big help to the Griffs...

^^^ Hmmm. Interesting. I thought I'd seen Wilburn around, but maybe it was when I was at Fontbonne when Webster played volley ball there.
