For many years, the coming of October 15 brought with it a certain stirring in my mind and body.  This was, or at least used to be, the official start of practice for d3 schools.  This date brought with it an instinctual need to be on a track or in a gym testing for coaches, eager to show off the outcome of the off seasons hard skills and weight room work.   It brought with it the opportunity to gel with new and old teammates while holding in tension the idea that you were going to beating each others brains in for the next four weeks with out any games to act as a release valve.   The feeling that it was TIME FOR BASKETBALL persisted for a number of years after my tenure playing hoops was done.  These days the feeling is no longer pops up on 10/15, but I certainly am excited to know that in gyms around the league there are a couple hundred players and coaches honoring the game by preparing their bodies and minds for a new season.

Good luck to all the players and coaches as the learn, plan and train over the next months in anticipation for the season.

Not as strong as it used to be but I still get the itch this time of year as well.

WOW.. almost 4 years since your last post... WELCOME BACK Panther 01!!!!

Rosters are beginning to show, and the SLIAC takes another 2 major hits....

Dominique Ellis not on Spalding roster...13 ppg last year, solid player.... and, only 4 non freshman on Spalding roster!!!!   After 2 down seasons, looks like Coach Gray has cleaned house and is going to reload big time....

Raushaun Amos not on Blackburn roster... lightening quick guard, 12.5 ppg...great one-two punch with Karston Hayes

Some better news though... a couple of other rosters are showing names that I had been told were not coming back... Koby White back at Eureka, helps to solidify their guard depth...Anthony Jones is on Fontbonne roster, showed promise in some games last year....

Elsewhere, Westminster is as raw as expected, little varsity experience returning, a plethora of new names.... Webster new names not showing much size, but as usual, frosh class shows several out of staters... anxious to see if any of them will contribute immediately...

I still see prior season rosters for Fontbonne and Westminster. Where are you looking?

Manually change the year in the address bar.

I do that for schedules when I can.

I have used that before as well, but Westminster does not have a toggle for seasons.

Also, Fontbonne only returns 7 players from last season if the jersey number is an indication (I did not look closely).

You don't toggle, you insert the 19 and 20 in place of the 18 and 19 up in the url address....

I had no idea what a toggle was. So I googled it.

I've been around from time to time, have 3 girls that play every sport they can, along with many other things that keep me busy. Haven't been able to catch a SLIAC game in a few years.

Not as strong as it used to be but I still get the itch this time of year as well.

Changing the dates in the URL...

That is the greatest #d3hoops fan hack I have ever seen.

I never would have thought to try that.

It does make me wonder if the SID is purposefully choosing not to update the roster links and is assuming that no one else is trying this.

Westminster is also only returning 7 players, but they do have a host of transfers including the previously mentioned Columbia College transfers who could have an immediate impact.

I'm no sure if it was mentioned before but Amos followed Coach Kollar to Concordia Chicago.
