FC  --  check your last paragraph  -  Do you mean that you would or wouldn't say Webster is favored?   ???
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Hope- I was replying to your post that FU would be favored. I don't see how. We're just happy to win a few. One more win and we equal last years total in conference wins.

FC, I think you are avoiding locker room fodder for the other teams  -  I now see Fontbonne as the favorite in the conference !!!!   You have got to tell it like it is!!!!!

Hope what are you smoking? Please giving some reasoning to back up previous comments.

I say 12 conference wins gets a team into the final four. I'd be interested in knowing how the conference determines the Final Four in case of two-way, three-way, or four-way ties. Beyond head-to-head, is there anything else? Has to be. I think there's a better than even chance that we could have several teams tie for the final two spots.

My pick exactly Mac 12-6 (more likely 11-7). No offense to my buddy Pride, but the conference leader could very well could have 2 loses after this week

y_jack_lok:  I'll be there in my Colts coat and my ORANGE GC shirt.

As for tie-breakers.  They have a huge deal.  Record against the top 4, and so on and so forth.  We were in that mix a few years ago.  So, they have a exacte way to deal w/ that.

As for the Panthers being 0-2 this week: Yes, it will be a difficult week.  I feel we can go on the road and win.  We are strong team.  If we can go 1-1 or 2-0, you have to call Greenville the mid-season favorite to win it all.  Panthers will be without head coach George Barber tonight due to a sickness going through the community.  His family has had it all weekend and caught up to him.  That could cause trouble for the Panthers.  It may be a little unorthodox for GC tonight.  But, a win would be huge at Webster!

Are you filling in for Barber tonight Pride?  ;) All jokes aside I hope he returns to his team soon!  As for Buxton he was in his tennis shoes the other afternoon at the game.  I dont want to set a time frame for his return because with an injury like that its just going to depend on his comfort on the court in my opinion.  Things like getting back into shape and how the foot feels will be major factors, although I have heard he has been seen taking laps in the enormous pool at Westminster Gym.  With 13 games left if the Jays can keep from hitting a losing streak I think Buxton will be back in time to help lead the team in the last 8-10 games.  They have played well without him so I think his addition back into the lineup could only help Westminster.  Good luck to the SLIAC teams tonight, wish I could be at FU with you Hope.  With the way its gone down on McKinney Court the last couple years against Westminster I would expect this one to come down to the wire with a last second shot by one of the teams.  Fill us in with the highlights when you get the chance!

I guess I in fact did set a time frame, "8-10" games.  What do I know?  I guess wishful thinking  :D

Mac leads EC 34-26 at halftime. Mac ended half on 15-2 run.

Robertson has 16 pts, 6 reb to lead Mac.

Tarpley and Peffer have 8 for Eureka.

Both squads missed a lot of easy ones., especially EC. Mac has 6-1 edge at the line.

MacMurray 69, Eureka 62

Game was tied several times in 2nd half. Big step back 3 by Whalum with under a min. put Mac ahead by 6.

Mac led 15-3 on free throws, EC led 42-35 reb. Both teams shot about 40%. More later...

Fontbonne wins relatively easily - Scott Dygert put on a brief show in the 2nd half to pull Westminster within 7, but Fontbonne won going away  -  Davis and Kurz disappeared in the 2nd half.

Noone could defend Fogerty - 18 in the 1st half, 18 in the second  -  Branc and White also shot well.   Depth will be Fontbonne's acchilles heal  -  played only 6 guys  -  they can't do that game in and out.  If Parker returns, it will be a tremendous help, not only for his contribution, but for the depth of having 7 players rather than 6.

You'll hear much about Webster - Greenville  -  Big win for Webster, but I think my man Panther will have some interesting stories to tell!!!

Really looking forward to Thursday night  and Webster - Fontbonne .  Huge game in the standings for both.

MacMurray "stole" another tough road win. Wow.

Eureka is a very, very solid team. Bigger, stronger, and deeper than MacMurray by a LOT. Not really sure I still believe what I saw...

After two extremely tough and disappointing losses at Greenville and Fontbonne, the Highlanders had their backs to the wall - and man did they come through.

Both teams looked extremely ragged the first 10 minutes. Lots of turnovers, lots of poor shooting. Had either team been crisp from the get-go, it could have easily been a 15 or 20 point lead. But that didn't happen.

Robertson and Greene carried MacMurray the first half at both ends. Greene, who gave away about five inches and 50 pounds, did a terrific job on Tarpley. Peiffer really never warmed up. AJ Richard had a real nice game for EC. Tough, hard-nosed player. Don't know how many Tarpley finished with, but I thought MacMurray did a terrific job of denying him the ball and preventing in-the-paint opportunities.

MacMurray broke from the gate quickly in the second half, just as they did against Greenville and Fontbonne. Led by nine with about ten minutes to play. Coleman and Whalum warmed up, and Robertson did some more damage. Devils went ahead by one or two with less than five minutes to play, but Mac hung in there. Whalum's fade away three with a minute to play was the dagger.

MacMurray really battled a much bigger and stronger Eureka team on the boards and on defense, and several times were able to cash in break away lay-ups by beating the Devils down the floor. That made a huge difference in the end. Mac played the entire second half without starter Neil Compton, who apparently had an ankle injury. He looks doubtful for Thursday night. Billy Long and Nick Schmidt really stepped up for MC down the stretch. Long hit a BIG three and two free throws when we had to have them.

BIG win for MacMurray, especially after this last week-end. Playing three games at Greenville, Fontbonne, and Eureka in five days was no easy task. Glad that's over.

Eureka fans were great. Good atmosphere and lots of school spirit. Always good to see that.

The win tonight means nothing if MacMurray can't protect its home court Thursday against Blackburn. Should be a good one.
